I dont know much about hip hop but this stuff is the shiznit. Mellow horns and early trip hop stylings FTW.

That old school stuff is the classic East coast hip hop that we grew up on here in the states... but then Southern rap took over >_<

The gangstarr one is great. Is Southern Rap like 50 cent and stuff? That stuff is wank.

East coast stuff sounds so much more optimistic.

Nah man, 50 cent is east coast rap, its just really shitty. I wouldn't say east coast hip hop is more "optimistic" just has its own unique sound and production values, and a greater importance is placed on the lyrical ability of the MC.(for the most part) southern rap is garbage like three six mafia,soulja boy and little wayne, though there is some good hip hop coming out of the south.

When I hear men singing with a deep voice like that, I can't help but imagine how awesome it would be when someone would start singing like that in a random situation.

It's about the only type of singing I can really appreciate.

 

Song was kindy funny, guy had a decent range on his voice. I found his stage mannerisms a little creepy though, maybe miming felt uncomfortable.
