All right I got both issues in front of me. Ill just post those 4 short little things relating to Graphics, Sound, Control, and Fun factor. First

    VF4

    Control - 5.0
Virtua fighter 4 shows that given the right developer, the Playstation 2 can hold its own against the Xbox in the graphics department. The characters, stages and user inteface all look sharp and spiffy

    Sound - 5.0
The audio effects have alot of punch as does the game's soundtrack. Its great just on tv speakers, but listining through a home-theter setup treats you to some rich, textured audio.

    Control - 5.0
Fighting is a snap with the standerd controler, but you may need to alter the configuration of the buttons. The use of a joystick seamlessly duplicates the arcade experience.

    Fun Factor - 5.0
Anyone who is even a mild fan of fighting games should check out Virtua Fighter 4 - a combat masterpeice that is sure to build a new following and redeem those who believed in the series all along.

hmm.... thats gona be tough to beat /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

    Tekken 4

    Graphics - 4.5
Tekken 4's sharp, clean presentation doesn't suffer from the jagged, aliased look of other PS2 games. Animations are smooth and noticeably improved over those of previous installments.

    Sound - 4.5
The use of dialogue greatly enhances the personalities within the Iron Fist Tournament and adds to the overall value. Solid voice-acting and sound effects complement an energetic soundtrack.

    Control - 5.0
Gameplay is pure tekken al the way with an exciting array of attacks and new characters that introduce styles not yet seen in the series. Negotiating around and against walls and obstacles also opens up tons more strategy.

    Fun factor - 4.5
Tekken 4 strikes a fine balance with new gameplay ideas and the tried-and-true formula that have made it a perennial favorite. The series could use a bit more depth and original features, but its pedigree as a top-ranked fighter remains intact.

Whew that was alot to type.Sorry tekken fanboys but looks like you just didnt cut it. btw the issue for the vf review is issue 164 may 2002, and for tekken its issue 168 september 2002. Enjoy /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

hey thanks man, i appreciate it, it looks like tekken got beat, but not by much, now what i'm wondering about is how VF4 Evo will affect the tekken4 VS VF4 issue, with a lot of additions to VF4 Evo i wonder where it leaves tekken4, well... it won't erradicate tekken, but for sure its gonna give teken4 quite a good beating hehehe, thanks again cooks. /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well, don't jump the gun. AM2 hasn't even talked about a home version, and there likely won't be one out for 6 months in Japan... at the earliest, although I predict more like 9. Also, when you compare the arcade versions of both games, VF4 leaves Tekken in the DUST on graphics.... Evo even more so.

For all these Tekken players... tell them to come to Japan and play -- there's never more than two people playing at a time during peak hours, whereas you have to wait in line to play VF4. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I'm sorry but the PS2 version of the game definitely doesn't show that
DOA3 definitely look far better than PS2 version of VF4
Hopefully AM2 will make a better port for their next project

I agree -- graphically, VF4 ain't so hot, but it doesn't bother me much. I'd much rather see an X-box home version of Evo. The box needs sales boosted big time in Japan.

As a pro-Tekken I wish the people of TZ would quit looking so insecure, with the constant VF threads.....especially if your arsenal consists of "Tekken uses 4 attack buttons"( /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif ) and "VF is clunko crap".

That gamepro review is a crock (full rating to VF4's sound....)

I just posted in that retarded thread.

It's because the maturity level of 99.9% of Zaibatsu posters is equivalent to an amoeba that I really don't visit the site anymore, esp the forums. That in the fact that I've become a VF4 convert.

Zaibatsu-ans are just retards with a cause. A cause to display their idiot minds. Oops was that bias, my bad.
