Actually not. They're bs'ing it into a "Well I have a higher standard then that it's not absolutely perfect so it's worthless for me" type of thing.

Well, it's not exactly a strict frame dependent fighter but it's better than nothing.

Actually I just experienced a lag related problem (attacks not making contact), but after we restarted the match everything was ok. With two cable connections there usually aren't many problems.

alternatively, everyone can always play MK1 and MK2 with Kaillera! Sal and I played some last night and it was lots of fun.

I set up a Kaillera server for gamers on IRC who wish to challenge or watch.

Yay. It is super easy to set up a server (thanks GD) so friends, local or otherwise, can enjoy online gaming and Kailerra is such a nice, elegant program. If you have a favorite MAME game you should hope on board.

One word of advice: if playing MK don't map block to the space bar since it will disallow other inputs like down or back and make you complete fodder for Sal. Holding down and block is a must in MK.

what is teh IP of the server? I play a lot of kaillera games, but can only play on weekends.

I remember someone here, I don't remember who, whipped me at XMVSF a while ago with Sabertooth, but I'm calling for a rematch!!!

Man MK is good, but those damn breakers, they are so f#cking cheap and stupid. I mean they can block any attack. They even block my scorpions kick after he grapples you. Online is pretty good and overall is awsome, but again, that breaker is the only thing that makes me not like the game that much.

----And by the way, how the f#ck do you actually do a breaker. I play all the time and I've never used a breaker in my gameplay and I've still whooped ass. Then I play online and all of a sudden everyone keeps breaking my combos with breakers(man that pisses me off, thats why I hate brekers)----

The breaker is kind of weak but both players get them and you can only use 3 per match, so it turns into a "strategy" of when is the best time to use them. (Are people using more than 3 online? Wouldn't surprise me with PS2 online)

You do them by hitting forward and block against an attack. Can work pretty much against anything, a 2nd hit of a throw move, middle of any string and even juggles lol... god I can't wait for them to make a good fighter online. I would play with you but I got the XBox version.

The thing is though that people were doing more than three breakers online. I don't know how but they were doing them. I played one match with this one guy and he did four breakers. Thing is though I suck terribly at the new MK version. I don't know why, but I do. When I played Deadly Alliance I was a master at it, but with Deception it just seems so weird and different. However, when I play offline I seem to do much better when playing against human opponents rather than online. Don't know why; guess it's just a big mystery.

There's too much lag online, and people use game enhancers to get unlimited breakers. I'm also bored with the fighting engine.

yea fighting engine does need a little work. Most importantly the blocking. I don't know why most games don't incorparate a vf style blocking into their engine that allows fuzzy guarding or some form of it. I hate the fact that with mk there is only standing guard or crouching guard. It doesn't have that fluid state where you can sit somewhere in the middle if you want. Because of this fighting scorpion is just to painful. He is so damn broken it gives a totally new name to being over powered. It's because of him I stopped playing on Xbox Live. I realized to beat him you have to use him. Although scorpion is my favorite MK character and I usually am very loyal to him throughout all of the MK games. I kind of like some of the other characters this time around. Sucks that most of them can't stand up to him in a fair fight. Even if he had no BREAKERS, he is seriously over powered.

Yeah I know. I really am an avid Scorpion player. In MK4 and MKDA I was practically unstopable with him. I just felt really comfortable with him. Now in MKD they really fuck#d him up, especially his sword attack combo. I really liked the one MKDA, but the ones in MKD are stupid.

----Also I got a question, is it possible to do a breaker while you have floated someone in the air? I had this one guy in the air and I was going to go for a sword combo, and he just uses a breaker in midair and breaks my sword combo.----

yea breaker does exactly what its called... BREAKER! it will break anything. a combo, 2 part throws, air combo, etc! thank god you only get 3.

That's why I don't play PS2 online.

Anyways, I stopped playing on Live because of Noob Smoke and Dairou. Maybe I needed more time for a strategy, but then DOAU rolled around and I played that. But then I quit that because I hate playing a "3d" fighter where you cannot evade 99% of the attacks.
