1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. I actually don't think this is right. You cannot QR/TR out of a ground throw from a stomach crumble if the ground throw is done immediately (e.g. during the crumble animation and before the body even touches the ground). You cannot even QR/TR a ground throw follow up after a 66k CH if the ground throw is done immediately. I will test tonight but I am relatively sure about this.

As for the frequency of use of low throws / ground throws, I'm not sure any of us gets any mileage out of "arguing" about what "frequently" means. That being said, a statement that they are never used because they are easy to break is simply wrong. They are used, and often enough that one can easily find matches online that contain them, even at high level play.

I think we can all agree that low throws and ground throws are two of the best advantages grappler characters have. If low throws and ground throws were that easy to break, then they wouldn't be much of an advantage at all.

Goh was my main in FT and I know for fact that a person CAN QR to avoid the ground throw from 66k CH.

I honestly haven't played Goh much in VF5 so I can't concur with your statement but I find unlikely this was changed.

I tested it last night and you cannot QR the ground throw from a 66k CH if you do the ground throw immediately upon hit (as opposed to when the opponent is actually lying down on the ground)

I encourage anyone who has a PS3 to try it and prove me wrong.

And like I said earlier, you also cannot QR/TR a ground throw from a stomach crumble.

i'm pretty sure maka is right. i've done it a few times, but it was against lame assed ai, so it's flawed from the get go.

Cool -- I believe you and learned something new, though I'd still prefer to go for a guaranteed combo. On a weighted average basis it takes off more damage.

Well, one day if we ever get the chance to play each other, you will know that I'm going to try and be sneaky with ground throws and low throws! Hahahahah.

Anyway, I'm just trying to talk about the game here. I'm surprised so many people were so contentious with respect to my little pet peeves. I even stated they were "minor" in the title.
