I started training with Jacky but didn't manage to continue. Guess I need some news on an FT home conversion to motivate myself. Wonder how Ryan and Graeme are doing /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif.

I haven't played in a very long time indeed.

That being said Graeme is supposed to be up here for some VF on thursday, anyone else wanting to appear is more than welcome.

I haven't played touched VF for months. Been getting into 3rd Strike as its been the only game that I've been able to play with my lack of free time. Got exams this week so I'll be revising hard. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

ah ha, so you guys are gonna start playing again?
thats good, coz you guys are some of the better players in the country, so it would have sucked if you never played again.
next time we play, you can feel the wrath of my Sarah skills, as I am now playing her as my major character. I don't think she is as good a character as Jacky, but I like playing her more, so I find myself playing for longer.
Li, you should really try to learn Jacky, coz he is very stance specific, and you have got that skill nailed, so I think you would be really good with him.
If anyone is interested in coming down here for a meeting then let me know, I will get something together. (there is someone I want y'all to play...................)

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I think I will pop up around 12:15. I know the time is a bit early but I have to leave before 3:00. If 12:15 is too early for you then please let me know.

    Cheers

12:15 is fine. I would reccomend bringing a stick if you dont want to get landed using my old blue bomber.

Re: The VF bug doesn't die easily

I'm terribly sorry today. I think I drank some outdated milk last night and when I woke up this morning I felt really sick, the whole world is spinning and I couldn't move out of the bed. I tried to call Ryan around 12:00pm but his mobile phone was switched off, or probably the number has been changed. So I sent a text message to Graeme saying I couldn't go, but I didn't receive any reply so I don't know if he got the message. Anyway I'm so sorry for missing this, and I'm praying Ryan wouldn't TFT me out of the window when we meet next time /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Ryan, is this stick any good? I think it is very aesthetically pleasing, but do you know how good it will play?
(If this one is toss, do you still recommend the Real Arcade Pro?).

Shin Nihon Kikaku (new japan project...I think)

there's a couple of special edition real arcade pro's coming out, I'd wait for them.

What's wrong with a Hori VF4 or Soul Calibur 2 stick? As good as the real arcade pro sticks are, they're far too big for practical purposes. That is, if significant travel is involved in your VF routine.

Don't know about Ryan but I would still recommend the Real Arcade Pro. The Neo Geo Stick looks nice but I believe it's designed mainly for playing 2D fighting games made by SNK, how well it will handle 3D fighting games like VF is questionable. Plus its button layout is slightly different from the standard VF4 layout.

The problem with SC2 sticks is that it seems Hori stopped making them a long time ago. It's quite hard to find a brand new one in the market now.

I really love my SC2 stick, was struggling to use Ryan's Real Pro stick the other day. Don't like the button layouts on it although the SC2 buttons might feel weird for other people as they're flatter and bigger. I've just gotten too used to my own one.

In fact, screw the Hori sticks, get yourself one of these:

There's two going on ebay at the moment. This stick is much sought after and a classic. It also dosen't require a suitcase to lug about, being a very neat size and indeed slightly smaller than the Hori sticks. I used one for a few rounds at Gamefocus.......very nice.

It looks older than the Pope!

I have decided on a RAP, it comes highly recommended, and I have enough to buy it.
