the stick idea sounds great. i really want one, but don't really know how to get one, so if i have the chance to win one, that would be cool.

as for the money situation, we could ALL PUT A FIVER IN, the the four people who make it to the play offs could make the rest of the money up by putting a fourth of the money that is needed in the pot. i don't know how much the difference will be coz i don't know how much they cost, but it shouldn't be that much when split between the four people.
if people don't want to play for anything then it is cool, it's just that it makes the whole thing more intense........

To Shaun and Andy: Hope you get your train tickets ok guys. Starting to look forward to the next big meet. Actually did some practice this evening with Aoi.

Now totally off topic: Stroppa, so have you downloaded anything from iTunes UK yet? Despite my reservation about the pricing (79p per track) I found myself downloading a few tracks today. The service is a bit thin on decent electronica however.

Dodgy ps2 permitting we should be fine for sticks, I have my trusty ol' Evo jobby and Saur's old modded DC stick.

Stephen, not had a chance to look at uk itunes yet. 79p isn't bad though, I figured it'd be one of these deals where they'd replace the $ with a £ and charge us £1.

I'll probably stick to torrents though.

we played some matches today and some of them were quite good, and some of them were quite shit.

With regards to the 'big tournament' on the 3rd July, I'm not keen on putting money in, for me it's against the spirit of how we've always done things up here. If that means I'm not allowed to play then that's cool, but I have to voice my opinion.

No problems, I think it's best we leave money out of the equation then. I'm not totally keen myself and I'm gathering now that most people up here are against the idea.

I'm sure it'll be a good session whatever.

As I understand things Li feels pretty much the same way.

If there is a divide on the issue then I'd side with those who don't want to contribute. I'm there for the love of the game and don't really feel the need to make things interesting.

no problem about the money/stick thing, twas but an idea.....
i would much rather play everyone and just have a great time, plus, it's not fair to expect people who don't think they will win or cannot afford it to pay. those of use who are interested in 'big game hunting' could always go to london.....

Good stuff. Shame about your delay at York on the return leg but I'm sure some quality VF play up here will make it all worth while.

Stephen you weren't at the gathering today, quality is not the word I would be using at the moment. /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

He he...I was meaning more a quality session as in lots of play time, ect. I certainly wouldn't describe my own standard of play as quality.

Who knows though. I at least expect to have a clear head for this event and will put in some practice beforehand. If I manage to get a few wins on Andy this time I'll be happy enough.

you guys don;t stand a chance against Andy this time, his Akira is mean, and his Kage is much better. on the plus side though, his Goh has suffered, so if you can convince him to use Goh, you might get a few rounds in.
Faded, yes it is Saturday and Sunday.
i sympathise with you about your hayfever, myne is really bad too, and i have a cold!

I was thinking....once our eyes start to bleed from excessive Evo play, might be nice to play some retro VF at some point during the gathering.

I have a DC, VF3tb and an official DC arcade stick. If anyone else has a spare DC stick please bring it along with you. Could even get the trusty Saturn out from the attic back home for some VF2.

I have a spare dc stick which I'm happy to bring for some vf3 shits and giggles. I expect to do really badly though.

I will however PWN you all with my DIRTY, DIRTY vf2 Lau if we play that though. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
