I've got two spare memory cards, so no worries.

One thing that would be nice to have would be the extra VF4 stages on a save file....it's good having some variety with stages and music during a long session.

Anyone have this feature unlocked, or know how to cheat?

Waverly is Edinburgh's main train station. Make sure you don't get off at Haymarket, the station before that.

Don't worry about a sleeping bag whoever is staying at mine. I managed to get hold of one today.

One more thing, best to bring a bit of money for food, although it won't cost much if we all chip-in.

So just some final words from me before I hit the sack (going to be busy tomorrow and probably won't have time to reply to forum posts):

I've secured an extra telly from work so all we need is an extra PS2 (as supplied by Faded). Faded, could you mind and bring a power cord and scart lead for the PS2, and obviously an extra copy of Evo? Cheers in advance man.

Hope the Elites have a pleasant train journey into the wilds of Scotland, and looking forward to seeing everyone from 1pm onwards for what will hopefully be a good session.

ill bring my copy of VF just in case, plus ill bring MvC2 and tekken tag, just in case anyone wants to play these later on. (personally i dont mind VFing all day (although i have never played for too long before, the longest i have ever played in one go was when i was playing Faded in leeds))

    Re: Edinburgh VF

Just got back from train station and efore I finally go get some sleep I'd just like to offer another huge thanks to Andy and Shaun on behalf of everyone here for making the effort to come up and give us some new vf blood. And a special thanks to shaun in particular for beating me constantly with jacky and giving me something to strive for. (winning none of those sodding 4-4 decider matches /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ) Your Jacky still owns me, even if not quite so badly anymore. Tell andy to switch to kage, he already wants to deep down we both know it.

Regardless of the game itself it's always nice to be able to add people to the list of groovy folk I've gotten to know thanks to vf. And nicer still to have most of them in one room like yesterday. I wish I'd played everyone a bit more yesterady before we called it a day. And I hope everyone got home ok from stephens.

The same obviously goes for andy and shaun. Hope your journey home is a lot more incident free than mine. Let me know if andy manages to get all the way home without nodding off on the train. Hopefuly it goes without saying, as far as I'm concerned you're always welcome here. I'll be sure to practice some tony hawks for next time.

Now there is much much sleeping to be done.

I actually had a good time on saturday night. I really wish I could've got their sooner but couldn't unfortunately.

Ended up getting a taxi home on saturday night after missing a bus and didn't much fancy waiting half an hour in the weather.

Hope I didn't embarrass myself with my VF skills.

Next time maybe we could draw up a wee tournament or something.

Despite my nasty hangover I really enjoyed myself and thought it was a wicked gathering. The two set-ups ensured plenty of VF for everyone.

Kudos to Andy and Shaun for making the trip to Edinburgh and displaying some fine VF skills. Was also great catching-up with the regular Edinburgh crew who I hadn't played in quite a long time.

I'm up for hosting another big gathering in the near future, so watch this space.

I had a lot of fun yesterday and felt that I did pretty well considering that I always lose about 3/4 of my matches. Played a lot better at the start of the day but then got dragged into those 3-0 losses with Andy's Goh and Kage.

That would be cool. Your flat was hella comfortable I thought. And I think Andy and Shaun were up for doing it again. Presuming they got home ok.

Li did get home ok right? I was really unsure about him catching a bus at that time.

You were playing well man. I remember having some decent Lion vs Vanessa matches with you earlier on. Was quite close I thought.

Also remember having some decent Aoi vs Lau matches with Li. Somehow my Aoi tactics seem to work against Li although his Shun always seems to destroy my Lion

I have to admit that Andy's Akira and Shaun's Jacky were just too strong for me. I still find it tough spotting Akira's and Jacky's throw-counterable moves, kept getting nailed by Akira's double-palm from crouch. *slaps head* "stop trying to fucking down gaurd it"

A nice habit to get into with lion is everytime you block a double palm(easier said than done). Whack them with [K][K]. Takes a while to get into the habit instead of going for a throw. But it's a really nice chunk of guaranteed damage.

I got back home without any trouble. Me and Anthony didn't wait too long before a 34 bus came along.

Thanks Stephen for hosting the gathering. I think everyone played pretty well that day. My winning percentage was around 40% against Andy and Shaun, but I'm quite satisfied with my performance. Graeme's Lei suddenly went crazy against my Shun, I lost a straight 0-4(or is it 0-5) /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Anyway can't wait for the next gathering.

Graeme: did you get your Puzzle Fighter back? We were playing it on Saturday but I forgot to check if you took it with you when we were leaving.

    Re: Edinburgh VF

ok, first off, i just want to say a HUGE thanks to stephen for hosting the seesion, i found it most comfortable in your flat and i hope we can make it up to you guys again in the near future. also, thanks for puuting me up for the night, it was hella comfortable on your couch, you made me feel really welcome, and at the risk of sounding gay, i just want to say that you seem like a real nice guy, so once again, thanks mucho.

thanks to ryan for the hospitality on sunday, even though we did sod all, it was cool to sit and unwind in your sauna! andy also wanted me to thank you for letting him lay down on you futon for 20 mins on sunday morning, he thinks you are uber cool and said that he would hang out with you, even if it wasnt a VF gathering.

graeme, you're one shameless dude, i wont mention the details incase certain individuals are reading this, but the "toilet humour" was great, but you are still going to hell in a handbag!

    Regarding VF:

    LiMeng:
good quality play from you dude, you managed to beat me with lau once and sun once, and i beat you with lau twice, and shun once, so whatever the % is, it was close. if i was to give you any advice, it would be to concentrate on getting more drinks with shun, other than that, your play is pretty sound.

    Faded:
good games with you, it was good to see you improve against my jacky as the matches went on, you even managed to take the lead towards the end, so next time i expect nothing more than a 5-0 ass whooping for me next time.....

    MAXIMUM:
your lion is quite good, i noticed than you were quite good on the offence, you just need to know how to defend, but you just need to practice, feel free to ask me anything you want about how to use basic defence tactics.

    MrDark:
big improvements since manchester, your vanessa is dripping with style,i really dont mind when you give me a kicking coz it looks so classy, you just need to be a little more offensive if you want to pick up the wins.

    Stroppa:
your Lei Fei is irritating to fight, its so hard to land a hit on you, but after the 3-0 whooping you gave me at the start (two of which were excellents) i got the hang of your moves and manged to win, but you have gotten beeter by far, keep at it and i think you could be a real bastard to beat, well done man.

    Elite:
didnt see you play much as you are my brother and i can see you play whenever i want, but i noticed that you and Faded played each other for long periods of time. alot of people found your Akira hard to beat, as he is an explosive cock who always lands his hits first.

all in all i really enjoyed myself and i want to thank everyone (even the guy on the bagpipes wearing the kilt) for making it an enjoyable experience, you guys are mundo cool, eh?

p.s. Ryan, i though of the perfect job for you: Tour Guide. you obviously know the best spots in Edinburgh and you make everything sound SO exciting, like for example the statue of the guy on the horse, you knew everything about him, and you tell the tale with so much enthusiasm.........

Glad you had a good time. You know my room was still fucking super hot when i got home. I think I'll get a fan for next time.

    Was the train home ok?

And just for you here is the save of you totally raping me from leeds. Now I need to go capture my multi mid kick reversal match to make myself feel better.

You're welcome man, it was a pleasure hosting for you guys and we'll definately have you up here for another gathering soon.

You're spot-on about my play too. Too much attacking, not enough basic defensive skills. It's hard when I don't get much time to play, but this last session has really inspired me to pick up my game somewhat.

Yah, I have it back, sitting not too far away from me, did you enjoy it? Need to introduce more of that at our little gatherings.

Is that the Duke of Wellington one? I remember my dead Uncle (before he died) telling me about that when I was about 5.

Also, I *really* hope we can get another one of those gatherings sorted out soon. I hope that if it ever happens, I won't have work in the way to spoil it. Plus maybe I'll be able to push stephen further at top spin again! Your service game is where I'm failing /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
