I think there was an F word and a B word on page 92, but nothing major. We swear like troopers up here, especially Li /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Always with the Sh word.

Cheers for the offer man but most of the heavy stuff is moved already. Only the annoying shit remains, like transferring bills and *cough* paying them.

Right, I have some positive confirmation now for a gathering. Saturday 8th May is a defineto for all interested. I’ll have the flat available from midday till as late as people want to play basically.

Anyone from below the border interested in coming up for the session is more than welcome.

I’ve tried adding this gathering to the calander section of VF.com. Anyone know if it’s possible to add public events to this?

click on the calendar link and at the bottom of the page is another link that says add an event, which forwards you to a page with a form to fill out regarding the details of the event.

Yea I already did that. My point is the entry is only viewable by me when I log-in, so others can't see it (I think).

I guess the mods set it up that way for a reason....oh well.

Sorry, are you refering to the gathering at my place on the 8th May, or at Faded's place.

If it's the 8th just book as early as possible and you should get a train arriving midday. Like I said folk can play as long as they like so a late train home is an option. If you can't get a late train then I'm sure I could put you up for the night.

Last time I checked trains gong to leeds stopped fairly stupid times like 8pm is or so, so i would reccomend booking your return trip for the sunday. Only problem is I've found sunday cheap fairs tend to get booked up pretty quick so it will depend what you can get.

If we end up getting a decent number for this gathering I want to have two set-ups running. Assuming we get the usual suspects plus some folk from the south, that could work out at 5 - 8 players. This way folk get to play more VF initially, and if it's a long session we can use the 2nd unit to play something different to break things up.

I have loads of room in the livingroom to accomodate a 2nd set-up.

Does anyone have a TV/PS2 we could use for the day? I'd be willing to pick it up in the car and take it back.

    Re: Edinburgh VF

I wouldn't mind bringing my ps2. If the gatherings a saturday I won't be able to make it til later on though, probably after 5. But I could drop my ps2 off in the morning on the way to work.

Of course 2 set ups requires 4 sticks.

I'm happy to contribute there also.

currently looking at 7-ish people so that's no bad.

Excellent, that would be appreciated. We still need an extra telly however.

Arriving later won’t be a problem, in fact I’d prefer if things kicked-off mid-afternoon till late as I’m out the night before and want a decent lie-in /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Obviously if anyone arrives in Edinburgh earlier via train I’ll be happy to let them in.

um, ok, ill take you up on the offer of staying the night, and i will bring my own pad (as will andy). we can also bring a ps2 and a copy of the game if you want.
we have other two player games that you MIGHT want to play:
    . Dragonball Z Budokai
    .Tekken Tag
    .Tekken 4
    .Kengo: Master of Bushido
    .Pro Evolution Soccer 2
.Yu Gi Oh: Duelists of the Roses
    .Timersplitters 2

these are all our two player game which we are more than willing bring, even if it is only to laugh at how rubbish and old they are, any requests (although i dont expect any) are more than welcome.

that aside, i am going to book my ticket now, so i will let y'all know what the deal is, ok?

Ok, go ahead and book. As far as sleeping arrangements go please bring your own sleeping bags. I already have a sofa-bed in the livingroom but will need to secure an extra matress or whatever (anyone?).

I can only accomodate two people maximum staying over I'm afraid.

    Re: Edinburgh VF

Don't bother with pro evo 2, if you want to play footie then I'll bring my jap ps2 and we can play Winning Eleven 7 international /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

In fact, at todays gathering we were playing third strike and super puzzle fighter so maybe we could play that too, oh and some wcw revenge on the n64, oh my I think I'm getting excited and carried away.

Too sunny for VF today /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Also, I'd contribute as many consoles as humanly possible, as long as I had a hand in moving them, and I'm pretty sure I trust all the people that'll be attending to know that you won't be pulling absolutions on me and nicking all my gear.

    I HAVE BOOKED THE TICKETS!!!!

we get on the train at 09:41 and arrive in Edinburgh(please tell me this is the right CITY!?!?!) at 12:46

we get on the train in Edinburgh at 20:12, and arrive in leeds at 23:49.

    is this ok with everyone?

ARGH, WE DONT HAVE ANY SLEEPING BAGS!!!
we never leave the house so we dont have camping gear, can someone help?
if not, we dont really mind just sleeping on the floor, i mean i have done worse.
also, we dont get on the train till quite late on sunday so could we hang out at someones place until we have to go....?

sorry for all the rambling, but i worry alot as i dont want to be left out all night (and all sunday afternoon) in the middle of a strange scottish place!

could someone PM me, or post on this site all the details so that i know whats going on, thanks y'all.

p.s. have you heard what IronMike has done?
he has said that he wont come up to manchester coz we cant afford to put money on the fight, i mean, how low can you get????

OH NO...YOU'VE BOOKED TICKETS TO THE WRONG PLACE!!!!

    Just kidding.....

That all sounds fine apart from Sunday as I have to head into work about 11 am and unfortunately couldn't just leave you in the flat.

I'm sure one of the other Edinburgh VF'ers would have you fellas over for the day instead...or you could just head to the pub and binge drink your sorrows away at having been soundly beaten by the Edinburgh massive on home turf.........er, probably not.

You should really look into getting some sleeping bags before you come. Surely you have friends or family who could lend you some?
