So how did you guys get on against that boss in CC? Did you feel the celtic energy from the pipes and smite him down? On a related note, I'm seriously thinking of ordering FF: XI for PC. I'm not a huge fan of MMOGs but this one looks a little more interesting.

I played some shit VF last night. Nice win streak from LiMeng though.

At the 4th attempt we emerged victorious, to much fist clenching and chants of "YES!" and "Come on!"

And you started off alright last night, but everyone's play was generally a little under par, except Li's streak of course.

No worries about me not playing - it was entertaining enough just watching.

Btw, Castlevania is sheer class. Beautiful control combat system and atmopshere. It's also got that shining polish that only Japanese developers seem able to produce.

You've got me seriously curious about Castlevania at a time when I can't even afford to spare cash on a mars bar.

Shame on you for making a poor man feel...well...poorer. What's the score like? Wouldn't be Castlevania without some nice tunes.

I'm interested in this game too. How long does it take to complete the game? Is there any hidden secrets/replay values like the previous castlevania games? I haven't decided to get a brand new copy or wait for a second hand copy a few months later.

It's very much what I would consider a perfect translation of Symphony of the Night to 3D, albeit with stripped-down gameplay and more emphesis on action. There's less RPG elements and trial-and-error exploration, but just enough item, magic and combat progression to hold your interest.

The best thing about it for me is the wonderful atmosphere. The visuals are lush and the musical score really inspired (same guy that did the tunes from Symphony apparently). The boss fights are also superb, requiring real strategy to defeat.

If you're after a long game Li, forget it. I've been playing for just three nights and I'm already 55% through the game. Personally, I hate long games that require 40 hour marathons to complete, so this is perfect for me. I wish more games were shorter but polished and well crafted like this.

Anyways.....I need to sleep. The game is so good I've been playing it all evening and I've got work tomorrow. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Been playing up to chapter 3 in FFX-2, I'm now of the opinion that it's fucking great, though the special dresspheres are a bit of a letdown. They look nice, but they're just a bit impractical to use I think.

I really enjoyed chapter 3 actually, things started to speed up, but there is a drop in pace at the start of 4 which has made me stop playing again.

I'll be there shortly after one.

Anyone else feel like indicating when they'll arrive?

With regards to FFX-2. I'm really resisting the urge to look up faq's to see how I'm doing with dress-spheres. I'm pretty sure I have them all covered up to the end of chapter 2. The only really proper new one I got was Alchemist, which is basically just Rikku's limit break from FFX.

Anyway, I'll try and save you a cherry starburst, though I can't promise nowt.

I'm going to try and make it for 1 this week. Remember Crystal Chronicles everyone! /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif I've stopped playing X-2 since sunday as I've just been chasing that little guy around for ages. Do any of you know what happens when you die during one of your special dress spheres? Wonder if the 2 others from you party comes back or is it game over?

yeah the other two come back in to the fight.

the original character remains brown breed however.

The special dresspheres are useful later on - believe me!

I didn't use them for the majority of the standard bits of the game mind.

Gotta wait till the 13th to get my hand on my copy of FFX-2 International /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I had a bad experience with Xenosaga reloaded, that will forever stop me from buying these 'international' type releases. Are the menu's in english? If they are then I might pick this up just for the 'last mission' extra bit, oh...and the advent children trailer /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Alas no, they aren't - and Last Mission is 100% Japanese. You do get two extra dresspheres though, including one where you attack with fireworks!

I think...the fact I had the best sleep ever the night before, largely contributed to my performance today, that and the few hours I've put into the challenge mode and having a look at kage's tactics advice.
