I feel I should probably apologise for Li for my blatant abuse of tft ringout today.

    But I'm not gonna. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Take solace in the fact you would have owned me today if I didn't keep going for the cheap win.

I think I need to take a little vf break, but we'll see how I feel on saturday.
Lau >>>>> Shun. Seriously you should switch.

So I was sitting here practicing and trying to think of ways to improve my game.

So I thought I'd ask everyone what they think my biggest weakspot is vf wise. Overall, or with kage in specific.

Please feel free to be blunt.

I'll be up for it since I missed Wednesday. Justing for confirmation from Stroppa I guess.

Can't really think of any major problems with your play Faded. Maybe just being more consistent with TFT? but thats probably just because of the amount TFT that we eat. Do you get bored from it and try different combinations?

After eating the [2][K] from Lei's [8][P][K][G] stance, struggle like a motherfucker to avoid the float combo.

Mix up your throws more, I know most of us eat the TFT all the time, but better players, as you have found out, have TFT escapes on auto-pilot. I've noticed you do mix the throws up a bit, but you have a tendency to go for TFT perhaps as a way of proving that you can hit the knee afterwards. Try not to let that bother you too much.

From Tiger Stance(Which I find myself in a lot... /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif), I have a few options...

[P], which will sabaki just about anything above the waist.
[K], which will sabaki just about anything below the waist.
    A sweep attack, and a chain ([2][K],[P],[P])

Try to think of the best way to counter all of these, and prioritise which you find most potent. (You're pretty good at it anyway, but you know...)

One other thing...If I throw out [P],[P]+[K] from the [2][P][K][G] stance, and you block, I have a fairly sizeable frame advantage, so whatever you do, don't attack me afterwards, better to ETEG.

Of course these are a bit vs Me specific, but maybe others could follow suit in tips on how to improve against each other. (We are all in the same team after all...)

There, you should at least never lose to me again. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

If I was smarter in VF theory I'm sure I could think of more, alas, I am but the D student in the corner.
(How many frames do you think it takes the average person to [6][6]/[3][3]??)

I find it hard suggesting improvements for Faded's game - his play is pretty damn solid, at least solid enough to beat me most of the time. If I had to say one thing it would be that perhaps you should mix things up more, especially when you're on a winning streak. You have a habit of winning with the same tactics over and over, when you could be gambling more with different tactics. If you're win ratio drops slightly as s result, so be it.

I'm afraid the new PS2 Castlevania has destroyed any chances of me practicing tonight - not that I ever practice anyway.

Btw, saw School of Rock tonight. It gets the big thumbs up from me....very funny film.

I so totally can't. I suck at struggling.

It's partly that, but not so much to prove as to practice. I think I go for the flip over their shoulders throw to dragon punch about as much as I tft. But I barely use the d direction one at all. Another thing with the tft thing, I tend to go for it more when I'm losing as I know I can turn around a match with it. It's a really bad habit which tends to make me lose worse.

I only seem to mix up my throws when I'm in control of a match. I'd never really realised that before. It's something I'm going to try and work on.

Yeah I've been trying to auto kickflip this lately but my brain isn't working as fast as i would like.

[/ QUOTE ] yeah i know something like +7, how retarded. I was trying to do evade >cd upper on wednesday but I kept screwing up the evade timing becuase of how long the block stun is.
    [ QUOTE ]

    [/ QUOTE ] Yeah the main two things I was going to suggest for you were;

Try and use better throws. Not so much with Lei but with Goh. I dunno if you were just screwing up circular motions, but you seemed to be using an awful lot of nuetral throws. On the other hand you've gotten a lot better at mixing throws up with lei.

Try to avoid losing to blocked elbow into jumonji stance flow charts. This is quite silmiar the the lei tiger stance situation wher eI have three main tools I'm likely to use.

The protruding kick which sabakis most hand and elbow stuff.

The hopping kick which beats low punches (and sweeps if timed well)

And the catch throw if you just block.

Now I think lei's [9][K]+[G] combo starter will beat all three of these off a blocked elbow which is my most common way of getting into jumonji. Then all you really have to worry about are the normal jabs and elbows he has in stance which i barely ever use and are nowhere near as rewarding.

does anyone fancy doing away with winner stays on format tonight? I was thinking maybe everyone could play each other best of 5 or 7.

    Time permitting of course.

well a perfect buffered df df gets you to the crouching position in about 6 frames but i've no idea what the actual speed of movement is.

If you just want to move quickly rythm is more important than speed, just practice df DF G(tap and release before releasing df) DF G etc etc
