and if cheers you up here I was happily blitzballing away when my TV made a large popping sound and died.

My room now smells like burnt electronics and I believe I may not be getting any vf practice for the forseeable future.

Hey just though I'd invade your thread once more.

oh firstly on the subject of FFX if you wanna get all celestial weapons and put em to good use....well my FFX time was about 177 hrs or so. You can have a copy of it when you come down if you like.

I can appreciate that its expensive for you guys to travel down here so I don;t mind putting on some decnet food for you when you come. Well that is if any one wants me too? We normally get by on cans and pringles/jaffas but I don;t mind getting some decent food in for you, seen as though its costing a lot already for you to come down. If you check our thread you'll see theres loads that (could) be coming so, nows the time to tell me if you can't make it I guess. Don't worry if you can't make it though still plenty more oppurtunities in the future.

Thank's for the offer but I'm planning on going the whole way myself. It's been a really long time since I've actually managed to sink this long into a game. Been playing about a week or so now and hitting the sixty hours mark now. Really enjoying it a lot more than I did the first time I played. (around the Pal release) where I stopped just before going to fight sin. I'm going to try and go the whole way up to penance. We'll see if I manage it.

Speaking purely for myself I would suggest just by more pringles and jaffa cakes, like ... a lot more. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Edinburgh gatherings are fueled by that exact nutritious combination.

Guys, don't suppose any of you picked up a few Scotsmans for the GNER deal? Looks like my tickets and slip have vanished in the aftermath of a Debs flat cleaning session........ /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I've already tried contacting the Scotsman for back issues, but no luck.

Ah, you life saver! That would be great if you could sell me a copy. If I had the same train times as my mate coming back to Edinburgh it wouldn't be a problem as each slip covers 4 travellers, but I'm taking a later train back. He's only got the one slip.

I guess if the gathering at my place goes ahead next weekend I could get it from you then?

Hopefully we get the chance to have a decent session the wed before we leave. I really thought we al played pretty badly on wednesday due to more of a lack of motivation than anything else.

I disagree, think it was just down to your mastery of the 'jab throw' technique which owned us. Its especially deadly you know with Kage. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Someone told me to use backdash and crouch backdash to counter jabs. But I still need more practise to use them at the right time in a match. And I'm having problem in counter attacking after successfully dodged a jab. Playing cpu doesn't help at all >_<

Oh crouch backdash might not be a good option against Kage because he has so many long range mid attack. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I think we should return to the five-wins-hand-out-the-stick format we used last year.

Agreed. I was starting to feel like I was hogging the game on wed.

As for jabs I find the best response is generally jabbing straight back. Or low punching. But then I would do that since all my close range flow charts tend to start with jab, I like a nice fast attack to get the iniative back on my side.

For anti-me strats in general I'd advise more ducking, at close range I'm really using tons of high Ps and throws. I whiff lots of throws these days, try and train yourselves to punish whne you see that whiff animation.


I've been thinking about the game a lot this week, due to not being able to play it. Anti-vanessa stuff in particular since the past two weeks I feel like im eating a lot of stuff I shouldn't against her. Going to try and speed up my gameplay in general as well. Hopefully it works out.

Speaking purely out of my own opinion, I thought me and Li were struggling really badly on wednesday. I didn't practice much beforehand, and I think this doesn't help. The sessions before I thought I was playing alright, and I had put in decent practice. As long as it clicks for Manchester though right?

I thought MrDark and Faded were the 2 best players on wednesday. Faded in particular seemed in the zone at one point. And it's nice to see Vanessa do more than that headlock throw.


Speaking of which, I think I'll be getting my tickets on thursday, so does anyone want to meet up with me, or tell me what train it is I'm getting?

In fact I have been using too much recently that it damages my game. Have to try to use it only when I'm in a disadvantage situation next time.

Wonder what they have in the old 'Sega Park' now adays. It'll surely be a good thing to meet up to get the tickets so that we can reserve seats to sit together on the train. I'm free all week so Thursday is alright I guess.

In other news I'm soooooo farking pissed off about this TV situation. It's getting picked up today and I'm pretty sure there is no chance in hell I'm going to get it back before the 7th.
