Thanks. We'd love to go back in the future and explore the north and Hanoi. Will be a few years before we could afford it, or get the time of work.

Getting back to VF, how is the scene in London these days? Are there players at the Troc most weekends? I'm itching to get back into VF.

If any of the Edinburgh team fancy a cheap trip remember those £20 returns only run in today and tomorrow's Scotsman. The tickets can be booked for any date up to the end of March.

Well, I'll do my bit and pick up a couple of scotsman's tomorrow on the off-chance I might find the time off work for a jaunt down to London. See how the Manc thing turns out first.

I like the stroppa v dark one, the one with me is kinda blargh, but the finish is cute.

I think I'm going to lay off vf for a week and see if that helps my little tft problem. Go out and take some photos or something, see the sunshine. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Stroppa Lei Fei v Mr Dark Vanessa

Mr Dark vanessa v Faded Kage

They're uploading right now so if they don't work try back in 15 minutes or so.

Didn't know you guys were making the trip to Manchester. Good luck, sounds like they take their VF quite seriously down there - I'm sure there'll be some intense matches. I'm too out of practice and...well, shit....to make the effort. A few casual games in the Troc will do me fine.

Shame the Scotsman offer dosen't include Manchester. I think Newcstle was the nearest city included in the deal.

Well the Scotsman's offer is going to last till the end of March as long as there are tickets still available. We're just waiting on Li to get back from China to see if he will make it. We need Shun.

Any you guys remotely interested in getting involved in this?

    http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/viewtopic.php?t=18553&start=15

Bulk buying parts for custom sticks etc. I'm considering it just because I only consider myself to have one decent stick at the moment.

Plus, it could be fun building a stick /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I'd love to build my own stick, or indeed modify my old Dreamcast one.

Just in case anyone cares I'm now confirmed for Feb 7th London (just checked £20 availability). Getting the early train on Saturday morning and coming back Sunday evening. There's a great night on at Fabric on the Saturday, plus it seems the London folks will be having a tournament on the 8th at Funland (trocadero).

I'm going to try and be a little better prepared this time.

We might cross paths at the train station. Since 7th of Feb is when we're likely going to MancLand.

Those sticks are tempting but I'm happy with my SC2 Hori sticks. Plus I've still got the GC one which means I've got an extra one for backup already.

I manage to get hold of a copy myself and the voucher says that up to 4 passengers can travel with a single voucher.

    copacetic.

If cheaper trainfares for manchester can't be obtained I'm sorely tempted to just say fuck it and go down to the troc for a day. I feel like those who haven't already played the london crowd would enjoy this more than manchester.

Of course the savings in trainfares would end up being spent in the arcade. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I so wanna play some vf but im going cold turkey till next week when my amazing tft powers will return im sure.

the shitty thing is they aren't taking orders just yet for march travel, which is when I'd be most likely to go down for that. It is quite tempting to say fuck it and go to london on the 7th, but I'd feel bad /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

We can always attend both! /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif As March is still a fair bit away. It'll give us time to practise for London.

    Re: wakka wakka sticks..

So would I, but if it's cheaper to travel the same amount of time (without having to switch trains at all) with the chance of playing stronger players then I dunno.

On one side we'd probably get more games in in manchester. presuming it's run well then I think we'd definitely have more chance of getting a good number of games in from 11-5 then we would by just going to troc for a similar amount of time.

At this point in time I'm strongly considering going down for the absolution tourney around april. So I'll only be able to manage one trip this quarter.

I don't really have a preference for myself as I've already done the london thing. (though I would like to see if I do better or worse against them than last time).

Anyways I doubt we'll come to any decisions before Li gets back anyways.

    Re: wakka wakka sticks..

It seems the Manchester folks are preparing and looking forward for the Feburary meet, it would make me feel bad if we change our mind at the last moment and choose not show up. Maybe I'm thinking too much...

But I think it's up to you guys to decide because I know absolute nothing about traveling in the UK. If Faded has problem with the cost of the ticket then I guess we have no choice but to take the cheaper one.

You know if you will be able to make it? As that is likely to influence our decision. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
