Yeah Stroppa's Lei was in very good shape in yesterday's tournament. The timing of jab and throw is nice, and you combined them very well, the different stances are confusing too. I must say your Lei is much better than your wolf now. But sometimes you use that charged attack too often, I think that one is pretty easy to evade, but my reaction is too slow these days>_<

Now it seems everyone is improving their characters, except myself /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif I feel my Shun is not improving at all, maybe even worse than one month ago. Don't know what to do, playing computer doesn't help at all.

Finally, the cheapness of the TFT-Ringout thing is really "Tenkamusou" /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

From what I've seen of a vid of your Shun he's pretty good,
My advice would just be unpredictable, work on Shun's flow charts cause thats he's strength, and of course drink!!!! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah it might be short notice for you guys but if you continue to improve and have the iclination, money and time this is worth a look /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

    p.s congrats Jackeh!

Most of the OTE3 matches are good, except matches 23-28 which can't be oppened. The team Edinburgh section doesn't work well, only 2 matches can be viewed /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Still many thanks for the cd though, the OTE3 matches are really exciting /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Thanks for the advice. I think I need to use that cheap [2][K] more often from now on, since I read from somewhere that [2][K] is a very important move of Shun /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif. And add more variety to my game, I'm relying on chouwan too much at the moment /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Your Shun does fine. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Sorry to hear about the vids, wonder what the problem was. Odd that some work and some don't.

You should use the 270 more. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

yeah anytime you wanna discuss Shun's strategies cause I'm still learning him as well,
I find mixing up from low, mids and highs confuses the opponents, I find f K&G (cheeky hop over kick) used sparingly often suprises people.
I'd say keep using Chouwan in your poking game cause of it's priority, also p&k has major priority for tap throws /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Re: Team Edinburgh Tourney results...

So I went along to LI's today and we played about 40 Shun V Kage matches all in all as well as a host of others.

It started off with Li pulling ahead of me by a good 8 games or so before we started messing around with other characters for a bit.

Around that time Shun's drunken ass got sent down to second dan. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif Akira got up to first dan, Li's Lau then used him as a stepping stone to make second dan as well. Though I must say I thought my Akira was looking nicer than usual today. Especially on the knee and spod front.

Then Shun and Kage got back together and I managed to make up the difference from earlier and even come out about two games ahead. /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I must say as always that Li seems much stronger when you just play him over and over and he gets time to adapt to your tactics. He really started punishing me for using [9][K]+[G] too much at one point. And then later on at one point I was screwing him up hella bad with Kage's stance options, then five games later he was getting away damage free from the same situations at least half the time.

Oh and I screwed up like 90% of my TFT combos today. I have no idea what went wrong, but it was really bad. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Though I did restrain myself from doing cheesy tft ringouts a few times.

Good to hear that Akira is on 1st Dan so that I've still got a chance to rank up. Been playing Lau today, so he'll be making a comeback next time. I manage to sort out his [2_][4][6][P]. So watch out for that next time. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    Re: Team Edinburgh Tourney results...

I must find a way to deal with kage's [6][P]-->catch throw /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif. It seems if [6][P] staggers the opponent and kage enters his stance then the catch throw ([P][G] in stance) is guranteed. Maybe it can be struggled, but I think only computer can struggle out of that stagger.

Oh man I felt so bad when my Shun is demoted /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I wouldn't worry so much, I have two characters sitting waiting to get demoted I think. Lei and Wolfy McWolf.

    Aye, sucks so it does.

I haven't even practiced any, and I reckon by the next time we get together it'll have been 2 weeks since I touched VF. Too much other stuff to play.

    Single player VF < j00.

So what's the plans for this week coming?

    Gathering on wednesday?

And if so is everyone up for it?

Christ it feels like it's been ages since we all played.

I'm still on track for this Wednesday's gatheriing if it happens. Haven't been playing too much but been thinking about different ways of playing more offensively. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Wednesday is business as usual. Anytime after 12.30 etcetera etcetera. I'll try to drag myself off dark chronicle to practice a bit.

Friday is about 80% definite. Perhaps Stephen can make that one? I'll even set up an xbox with top spin if he has withdrawal symptoms. I suck badly at that game /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Groovy

Ok doke I'll try and get there sharpish on wednesday as I need a little practice to warm up.

Hopefully that should leave me plenty broken in for friday where I plan to be liberally tossin' muthafuckahs ten feet in the air all night.
