Looking for players in Scotland.

not bad games at all today folks. I thought Mr Maru made a pretty decent first impression all in all.

Obviously I've got a lot to work on but today made me think it was worthwhile to stick with the ninja. Hopefully I can improve the few things that were really lacking. And get a little more consistent combo wise.

alright there, it's nice to see that this thread is still doing well and you guys are doing this regularly still. Now ages ago i said that the reason I couldn't take part was because of work and college. Thing is that my course is a media and soon we will have to make a few 2 minute films for this one class and I was thinking on doing it on one of these sessions you guys have. My group would basically come round, film yous playing and interviewing a couple of you about the whole thing. Plus i think it would be an interesting film to post here along with all the video clips you normally post, so what do you say?

Yeah i was gonna ask if you normally play on a Friday, I know i could read back a few pages but theres 21 of those things. So get back to me if any of you think it's a good idea.

 

Interesting idea. I'm open to it if the other guys are. If you do come and film us though, you have to make us look as un-geekly as possible /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

We usually play wednesday afternoons, with the odd sessions when we can fit them in on other days.

ok cool, i'll need to pop along to one of the sessions along with the production assistant (sounds professional but i assure you we have no idea what we're doing) to see how camera angles may work and what not, so i'll keep an eye on this thread

 

Forgot to mention.

Me on film = no way. Sorry just not my kind of deal. Being on the wrong side of the camera makes me uncomfortable.

Still I'm sure everyone else will be fine with it. I'll just make the tea.

How are you planning to do it anyways? Just filming it on DV and editing it up on the comp?

 

ok i'll tell you, we're just at NC level at Stevenson College right now , using these ainchent cameras and editing onto VHS, so it's all pretty basic right now. But i've still to run this idea past the other people in the group, just thought i had better found out if it was possible with you guys before the next class.

VHS isn't so bad (i mean if it's good enough for el mariachi right?)

I've done a little bit of editing that way though and it's such a pain in the arse.

Of course at least it's somewhat reliable unlike my SON OF A WHORE COMPUTER.

anyways during the lowest point of my suicidal battle with the wmv file type this morning I started trying out a few different things.

So if you could download both of these vids and tell me which you think looks nicer I would be much obliged.

Softer less grainy image.
Little grainier. Sharper image.

Of course the difference is totally minimal and if you just plain don't see enough of a difference to comment on feel free to say that too.

Stats tonight most likely. Will do them when I get back from the cinema.

First one looks better. The 2nd one looks a bit iffy when the camera zooms inl

 

All the matches we saved yesterday were shit. So I doubt I'll encode any more, cept for 'that' bit of course.

I'm glad I saved them though. Makes it easier to see where I'm going wrong.

I'm trying to decide what I'm going to shout out everytime I hit you with that back turned throw.

I was going to start shouting 'owned' everytime I beat your low punch with that kick but I could see by the look on your face that it had gone beyond the 'funny annoying' stage and into 'AMMA KILL YOO' territory.

I'm waiting till I have 8 vids that I'm pretty happy with. And also waiting till they're not so heavy on the faded/li side of things.

Actually what I'd like to do is another league and save EVERY match, then I'd sit and go through them and capture the good ones.

It jsut seems like right now that we have so many good matches, but never save those ones.

Why don't we do that on wednesday? Assuming Li and Ant can make it. It'd be 64 matches, but we usually get through that amount roughly on a wed. afternoon.

Same rules as the last one probably, though I reckon we might need to clear up some memory card space to save every match.

Heh, maybe they could interview you in a dark room or blur your face and disguise your voice, like they do in crime documentaries.

Interviewer (off-camera): "Faded, whan did your addiction to VF begin?"

Faded (face in shadow and voice dubbed by North England male): "Well, it started fairly low-key at home. Did a bit of arcade mode, quest....the usual innocent stuff. But then I met up with the others and things just escalated...........before I knew it we'd formed our own gang and things just got out of control. We started pulling off reversals, max-damage combos, throw-escapes, the lot......you name it we did it"

Should be doable. We do average 65 matches every wed or so. Everyone would have to arrive at a reasonable time though.
