Well, VF4 up north nearer to the Causeway isn't good.

Bukit Panjang Plaza has one. 2 credits per play. System is stored value card. 2/3

Yishun 10 Cineplex has one. Pretty miserable I must say. It is right at the corner where they stack the chairs next to the T4 machine. Not much space to sit for vs playing. Good news is that it is one token (50 cents) per play. 2/3

There isn't one at Timezone Causeway Point. Didn't have time to check out Sun Plaza. Will see if CCK's Lot 1 and BB's West Mall has them.

Chris, if you are compiling a list of places for SG, I suggest you set the locations as identified along the MRT line :) Many people still don't drive. Could be due to Virtua Poverty....remember that one ;)

Nope, unlucky of me... :) Back then we learn most of the move by playing the game, or observing others play....
You really go up north to spread the VF interest?? You're hardcore to the bone man....

I think he challenge me for some games. Might be active player during VF2/3 times, based on the way he can do the DLC combo...
Just out of curiosity, did Fighting Viper 2 made it to S'pore? It never showed up in M'sia.... :(

That was along time ago. No gf and no wife. Only have Sarah who I control. Just like some guys who have no one but Lara :) I can't be that hardcore now. BTW, another location I forgot to mention is Bugis Junction. They have 2 versus cabinets. However, one of them has the CRT screwed up. Top part is faded and gives some off toned yellow look. Should be alright if you don't mind it. Set to 2/3 with 50 cts per play. Some old timers like that place. Its in the CBD and near to SLS where most PC hardware hardcore cases hangout. Some people are seen experimenting there. New VFers with Japanese movelists and one or two chiobu. NO I can't have anymore chiobu. One is more than enough in my life now.

sounds like slang for chix, maybe even specifically arcade chicks. Even if it's not, I think I'll adopt it to mean that.

    Ack~
chiobu is ' pretty girl~!', not arcade chick~

Actually..u're not the only one that suffers from what I personally call ' Singapore break' ~

There was a stretch of time(years) when I did not go back. So one fine day, I woke up to the burning 40 plus degC...with nothing better to do, I thought I 'll pop into the travel agency n buy a ticket...next thing I knew, I caught the afternoon flight n flew home...n jeez~! I just was not prepared by the fact I returned home a stranger~!

I forgot which road leads to where...I forgot the bus numbers etc etc...worst of all..I forgot so much of my hokkien...it was impmposible to even buy a packet of cigarettes from ' kopi tiam'. I didn't understand when they asked me if I wanted 'big or small pack'. I just looked at them n blinked...in my mind thinking ' what the big small pack..I just want a normal pack'.

I think the funniest thing that happened to me was when I walked into the shop n asked for the price for a game( good old sim lim square) the assistant turned around n asked his boss in hokkien "what price should we charged this ang moh?"

It got so bad that within two weeks, I bought a ticket and flew back to OZ where I now consider this place 'home' (As I explained to Yupa yesterday)

Chris, I suggest you check the Official Coxford Dictionary at http://www.mrbrown.com

And I thought I'm the "angmohkow" with my Sesame Street inherited accent. :)

BTW, the buttons at Bugis is fixed.

Are you sure it's not Jo Bu, as in the movie, "Major League?"
    /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

Singlish.... I probably shouldn't state my views on it in the forum/versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

But every country has its own version, na! <-- Chanchai introduces thai particles to VFDC

    This post is silly, na!/versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

If you are thinking about economy. I would think it is Yishun 10 and Bugis with 50 cts/play. Bugis gets the better vote as it has two Versus Cabinets. If you want regulars hanging out, AMK is the place. Alantan hangs out there. Alexchin is there I believe.

I live in Woodlands, so I frequent Yishun. Helps me practice too. I wouldn't imagine anyone sitting down in that cramped corner to play against me. The CPU is set at a higher difficulty than Bugis. But then this might all shift to the home setting. VF4 will come to the PS2 and if the 13th month pay is good, I'll get one, fighting arcade sticks and VF4 :)

Actually, yeah, I thought about it a bit, and realized that "chio bu" did indeed mean "hot chick". Just haven't heard "chio" in so long that it took awhile, I guess. Plus, I'm Teochew, so it would be "le gia za bor peng you zeng ngia" (your gf is really hot) in my dialect. Speaking of hot chicks, this may be old news, but I just discovered Jaymee Ong (<A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.jaymee.org>http://www.jaymee.org</A>) on the web, she's a *fine* example of half-and-half. (Hopefully my future daughter will end up that pretty... but, I digress)

I think the funniest thing that happened to me was when I walked into the shop n asked for the price for a game( good old sim lim square) the assistant turned around n asked his boss in hokkien "what price should we charged this ang moh?"

LOL. I think that would happen to me too.

I haven't included Singapore locations for VF4 on the VF4fx website up till this point because I figure most Funland arcades are going to have it anyway... but... I'd very much like to link to a Singapore locations page if one of you guys is going to create a Singapore VF4 related website... /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I must go down to bugis one of this days. It is cheap and got "chiobus". Chia, I am different. With or without GF, I play lots of VF :) besides I do not "control" female characters so my GF do not get jealous.

    Chris,
you should at least do up a page for SINGAPORE!!! Singapore you know!!! sigh... wonder if you can speak chinese the next time I see you... your chinese wasn't too good to begin with either. anyway singapore is holding our elections on 3rd November I think...

Hmm. I dunno. Might be a fair bit of work, considering that there are probably more VF4 machines in Singapore now than the rest of the world combined. Much less HK or Taiwan or Korea. That being said, I might revamp the VF4fx [locations] page to make it more intuitive, maybe a pictorial map that allows you to swap info on the fly using Javascript. Really busy these days though... so I'll get to it when I feel like it =P

My Mandarin has ALWAYS sucked. And I'm proud of that fact. I wish I'd learned French or Japanese or even Cantonese instead of Mandarin. Mandarin is too closely associated with mainland China, and don't even get me started on my beef with mainland China.

I can't participate in elections on Nov 3rd because for some stupid ass reason, the government decided to disallow foreign votes. Not that I care anyway, I fail to understand the rationale behind the government deciding on the election date arbitrarily (instead of a fixed date every 4 years); moreover, I just found out that they have redefined the regions AGAIN... Seletar Hills Estate is now part of AMK GRC instead of Cheng San GRC. Pah, how lame.
