that disc is not a good idea for say tekken tag, as the players will object to playing a 50hz game running in faux 60hz, i mean the game sound will be out of sink and as its slightly optimised it will be running like 5% faster! so timings will be messed up, tekkentag is only like £4 jap, in cex/tcr!

I played the game alot with the game accelerator and then played at Casino and there is no difference in speed or the timing required (EWGF, wavedashing CD canceling into WS moves its the same). The only sound affected I've heard is in the intro nowhere else.
There's a tiny bit of slowdown in a couple of stages but its even less then the slowdown in console SC2. Other than that a tiny part of the lower screen gets cut off. Others at TZ have tried it and have no problems.

    I think Steve's problem may be getting a 2nd ntsc PS2.

no.. my problem is getting the money for another NTSC PS2. What's I'm gonna gave to do is split the tekkens in two seperate days. Same with the Street Fighter titles. Theres no other way round this unless someone can cash inject me a good £200. Hopefully by the end of August, we'll be getting some players down.

Are any of you going to the Sony Experience? I might need some ppl to give flyers inside the venue (in a sneaky fashion) for the tournaments. I will also need ppl to stand outside handing out leaflets if anyone needs some extra money...

Pro evo results are completed. Will show when the website is up which is around saturday...

I'll just grab a Jap copy from CeX. Anyone got a save game of it though?

James, bring down Super SF 2. I'll see if I can get hold on DC of third strike and Cvs2.

nah.. dont bring ur PS2 cause I know you got work before 1PM.

I'm just gonna rotate the games around for example:

    For 1st & 3rd week Saturday and 2nd & 4th week Sunday:
    SC2 (GC & PS2)
    T4 (PS2)
    Halo (XBox)
    Sf3 3rd Strike (DC)

    For 1st & 3rd week Sunday and 2nd & 4th week Saturday:
    VF4 Evo (PS2)
    Super SF2 Turbo (DC)
    Smash Bros (GC)
TTT OR Pro Evo 2 (PS2)

I will need a UK copy of VF4 or get the PS2 chipped for TTT to come on. What I'll probably do is drop TTT for now and see what the weekly turn out is for Pro Evo.

i say un less theres interest in pro evo, dis it for tekkentag! maybe when pro evo 3 comes out there will be renewed interest, but as tyheres no football on tv for a while....
also do you mean a uk vf evo copy??? u keep on saying vf4??? be more spacific!

Of course.. That's why I've complained to those players at PESinsight.com

They say, tell us when the competition is, then they will come. ????

I don't want to borrow ur PS2 cause I will need it a couple of days before the tournaments and since its gonna be every week, I'm gonna rely on ur machine every week. When I get some money, I'll just chip one of the machines.

Anyway.. I need votes for the next 2d Fighters!

...hmm, I couldn't play at least a _bit_ better because I had to play with a layout everyone else uses; and I use the one like in P2W. heh - anyway; better luck next time - hope I run away with a lucky win. =p

Its okay. I'll stick T4 and TTT on rotation like the SF games. If I don't get enough ppl for PES2 then I will drop it...

    hiya!

Plans to open the downstair area as a ahop are going in to full affect in a couple of months at the Game Focus shop, so I'm trying to plan an on-going league tournament with only 6 games - 3 games per day. The games I've chosen are:

    Halo
    SC2
    SF3 3rd Strike
    VF4Evo
    Super SF2 X
    Tekken 4

Since the Ullysis group are gonna do weekly tournaments at Funland with possible prize money as prizes, most of the pro-players such as Sackey, AC, etc will attend them instead. This actually gives the rest of the players a chance to win something rather than getting beat by the pro-players all the time.

I'm thinking of offering players in 1st 2nd and 3rd places prizes. The prizes will be Game Focus Vouchers which can be used as part-payment on your games, accessories and consoles.

    Prizes are as follows:

    £50 Voucher - 1st place
    £25 Voucher - 2nd place
    £10 Voucher - 3rd place

I will also give invites for the winners and runners-up a chance to appear on TV at GamerWeb TV for live knock-out tournaments, etc.

The league will be ongoing for two months, so the winners will be announced at the end of the 2 month period. League tables will be updated every week and shown on the Game Focus website.

Entry will stay at £3 per day and I will open the league on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday.

Generally, good players wont need to turn up every week to stay on top. Just every so often so that they dont get overtaken. However, for this to work, I will need at least 50 ppl to turn up at the event everyday. If I only get Max of 46 ppl every day, then I can only offer the 1st prizes of £50 to the person in 1st place.

A win-streak cap will be imposed, with max of 10 wins in a row. Lets players have a chance to play other people rather than the same 2 players who are on the machine all the time.

Rent for the event is £100 per day. It can be reduced if sales of games, console, etc at Game Focus goes up. I still have to pay refs which comes to around £20 - £25 every day.

What do you guys think? Would it be better if all the semi-pro players go to the Ullysis tournaments and the amaturs to Game Focus?
