All jokes aside, let me say something on this matter. I've chatted with O'neal a few times over on LIVE. There was something he told me a while back that I still remember. He thinks people don't understand he's sarcasm/trash talking. I told him, sarcasm only works if you know the individual(Example, Adam and Denkai ,Switchnation trash talking)Because, there's truth in sarcasm. That's what I told him. A situation like this happen a few months back with a fellow member(plague has his quote as a sig, can't remember he's name)O'neal comments over he's stay here is quite apparent he's very home sick, and residing on a small city is not making matters much easier.
As you see, LA pretty much told him on how to go about things, and O'neal pretty much agreed. But....That's something he should of Blog about, then posting on a forum, but who am I to judge.
I'm not defending anybody here, and is good Tony Familia, and others put the situation on blast. Because, sarcasm loses it value when it's use all the time.

 

Tony Fam don't sweat it bro. VF is the Only game that the ratio of good Japanese players outshine the its U.S. counter parts. Since i was a Kid growing up in N.Y. when it came to fighting games in Manhattan The visiting Japanese players and players from Chinatown Square was consider Gods. I spent all my days in the arcades in brooklyn that were Weedspots, crackspots, Numberholes (Where i Meet Seed lol.) ETC to master my craft so i could match the level these guys was at. When that day came i started to take over playland and Broadway arcade and i was right on par with these dudes util it closed down and i lost that competitive fire.I still keep playing for the fun of it and thats all it will be for now on for me. I know im inferior to the Top ranked Japanese players cause that the way its supposed to be.I don't play or take video games seriously that much cause im older and living in America is hard shit raising a daughter. Its different in Japan when you go online i bet nd there are hundreds of Hunters,Berserkers,Warriors,Gladiators to choose from and keep the fire lit underneath you. That forces you to step your game up. If there were arcades that were still around jam packed we would still be right in there on a Saturday Night getting it in.

In short im not supposed to be able to beat a top rank opponent period without practicing and know th game in and out. Thats liike me Knocking out Mike Tyson in his prime and im not conidtioned or in shape although i may know how to throw a punch.

 

What it sounds like is Fuunji saying no one is good enough to play his Shun so he'll just use Jean. And also, thinks he's so tight, but part of it is that alot of people have trouble playing against Shun anyway, besides the fact that Shun is mad strong.

I doubt he'd even be doing that well if used Jean over Shun.

If combat vs Shun was more understood, I doubt Fuunji would even be so special.

People slip up now and then and come off kind of harsh sometimes, but this guy does it everytime he post and he finally got told.

Even so, like Tony mentioned, this wasn't just a comment. This has been ongoing. Even though it blew up, it's good that Oneal is aware of how he's coming across now.

for example, Adam is really tough to fight for me, and of course Denkai and konjou are tough for me too.

and JHow and Gentlemanthief or some others have really interesting style. sometimes I lose really badly.


I think I said I'm not good at VF if I play in Japan. I know that. But still I got pretty-high rank. why? Because most of American suck! Im not saying I'm strong.

You've got to understand something. I'm not even disagreeing with you. I agree in that, on the whole, the level of American play is somewhat weak.

For me, the problem is that you say this, almost everytime you post, but don't put in any effort to increase the level of play. Who have you even helped out? Who have you shown how to even battle vs Shun?(I even recall a post where you said you wouldnt' share a "shun weakness")

Everyone is only as good as their competition.

Me personally, I've tried, I've tried to help people in learning Sarah, I've given out advice and everything. Shown people how to beat Sarah too. Alot of it came back people sending me hate messages or people telling me that the advice I'm giving them is wrong, and even players just stopped playing the game flat out. So it basically got to the point where, anyone that asked for Sarah help, I just redirected them to someone else and I stopped posting Sarah knowledge.

Basically you saying everyone is weak, but don't care to make things better so you have better opponents. You're content with just playing with a chip on your shoulder or something.

I think we all just took his original comment out of context, I think he was trying to say that he will use Jean when playing over here cause it will be fun or he wants to learn him... not that he could pwn all us EU/US players with his Jean.

I strongly doubt he was serious about pwning everyone with Jean when everytime i've played his main he has always pulled.

 

You have understand that VF is a enthusiast type of game. So stiff competition is going to be slim. You seem to take the online ranking system a "little" to serious. You also have to understand that alot of us don't play RANK matches like that, we're to busy playing with are fellow VFDC m8's. So catching a good match on Rank, is not going to happen. I think your more addicted to ranking up, then actually having a good fight. Competion is not slim. You have a abundance of GREAT, VF players that you could easily send a invite to. And have player matches with. I rarely see you on player matches to begin with. Point being, is a game, enjoy it, and have FUN.

Fighting Shun is Very hard.Hes a Very Good character so having him as your main you better win a good percentage of the time.
Too me its actually fun fighting Shun and frustrating at the same time because you kinda wish you character has ability to switch up asmuch as he can along with damage properties. OH well. More power to the people who take VF to the heart. IT ain't even that serious cause i doubt a majority of the Top VF players can't play shit else but that another topic.

 

Well, many people seem to believe that Shun is way stronger than other characters, but I have to say it's not correct technically. I think I know why they think so, though. The reason is just that many of nice players in America use Shun. Fuunji, LA_Akira, Denkai, Jhow... They are very good at this game. Their shun are strong, because they know the basics of vf, they know how to use him effectively.

From my perspective, players using other characters as the main have not been able to make good use of them. Also, somehow some characters are not very popular here.

This is what I feel from my experience of playing tons of matches with American players here.

In general, tricky characters like Shun, Brad, Lei-fei are harder to deal with unless you learn how to deal with them. However, tricky characters are desinged to have more weak points than standard characters such as Jacky, Lau, Goh, etc. For me, it is not that hard to deal with shun cause I know about him a lot.

I feel like this fact needs to be tested with the AdamYuki + Jeff = balance formula. This could very well cause a catastrophic event so be prepared.

I am Kinda of the Japanese player with their arrogance in VF towards Americans though. I mean if your Top Ranked why do you worry about people who just play for fun? They are beneath you. With all that Knowledge you guys should have a understudy.Don't get it twisted i worked a couple good Japanese players asses out on Live around 4, 5 in the A.M. with Laggy connections so everybody's not untouchable (When your top rank im not supposed to beat you at all.). How bout this To any Japanese person still talking and kicking that bullshit.Tell Sega with the money they took from us Americans by killing off the Dreamcast early to open a few Club Sega's in Times square.Make sure its stocked With nothing but your finest arcade Set ups and Virtua fighter Cabinets for only 50 per play if we are so behind. Then that shit would fail too because who gonna pay to play VF5 if wehave a perfect conversion at homein which we dont have to spend money or leave the house?
Sad thing this goes further than just VF with the Japanese people.There's a legitimate reason why the arcade bussiness is booming over there but since that's a different topic i'll leave it alone (Trust me the reason is much different than your thinking.)

Please "R" save us all and have 4 player Rooms with a better online function.
