Well, I only got interested in fighting games 2 years ago, but VF5 really caught my attention a the time and was a important part for my interest... so please keep the dream alive and port the game to PS3/360.

I play VF for several years and this is the best fighting game ever made. It is very sad to see that sega is apparently ignoring the game and limit to the arcades, which are already dead in most of the world. Virtua Fighter need to return to the consoles and the VF5R version to be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 so that not only fans would play but for more people to know the franchise. Sega, give more importance to the best fighting game ever made and do as Capcom with SF4: always updating and not letting people forget the title. Oh, and Virtua Figther have a storyline that need to be told. Some cinematics would be fine.

    Dear Sega,

Don't know where I should start but I'll say this: "I love this fighting game, and I really wish I could play the latest version VF5R with my friends here in the West".

I've never had an interest in the VF series, until 5, and the reason for this was because I wanted to play a fighting game with a lot of depth and strategy. This game was recommended to me.

To cut a long story short, ever since I started playing VF5 it has been the one and only fighting game I played since it's release over here in The Rest Of The World.

It was very exciting to see that the game would get better and better, over the constant updates and revisions, but after 2-3 years that excitement that I had for the game slowly turned to sadness. I was disappointed by the lack of interest in even attempting to show any support for the fans over here in the Western side of the world, and with that I looked for other games to continue my thirst for a challenge.

However I did not lose interest in VF5, I still play it to this day, I even traveled half way across the world, to Japan just so I could get my hands on VF5R, and I came away very very impress with how much the game has progressed since VF5.

Please guys, I don't see why only 2 3D fighters should dominate the fighting game market over here and do well, and VF5R isn't in that bunch. It's the revival of the Fighting Game Genre, don't miss your chance to bring in more fans of the series.

There are many fans and newcomers alike who think you guys have given up on the Western market, please prove them wrong!

Please make the latest version of VF5R available outside of Japan, please support the game, the fans of the game, the Virtua Fighter community!

And please continue to support the game after release like the Japanese arcade game.

Thank you, I hope that this message will be seen and not forgotten.

    Sincerely Yours

I've been playing fighting games more or less seriously for the past 10+ years. I started with Vf3 but then I jumped ship and have been playing almost exclusively Tekken since then. But now that Tekken6 kind of sucks, I would love to see VF5R on ps3 to be able to really learn the game and start playing seriously.

One thing that's always struck me about VF in general, and Vf5R in particular, is that the game is enjoyable to watch, even if I don't always know whats going on! I think this is the exact opposite of T6, which is very boring to look at,even when the players are top level!

So please Sega, bring VF5r out on PS3 and make us all happy!!

    Dear Sega

I’ve been a gamer for over 25 years now and I lost interest in fighting games back in the mid nineties and I had never played any of the games in the Virtua Fighter series.

Then nearly 2 years ago I bought Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox360, it was only a random purchase but it quickly became my favourite game. It rekindled love of the fighting game genre so much so that I even tried the other fighting games that have been released (SC4, SF4, T6 etc.) but none of them compared to VF5. Now nearly 2 years later VF5 is the only game I play while all my other games just gather dust.

I now consider VF5 to be the best game ever but I believe that VF5R would be even better (the video’s I’ve seen look awesome) and I ask that you consider a console release for VF5R, or at the very least give us some sort of assurance that we will see another console version of VF.

Please don’t make VF5 my first and last VF.

    Dear Sega,

I've been a fan of the series since i was a little kid back in 95' my grandfather gave my mom some money... well when i seen the money it was Toy R Us dollars Lol but she used it to buy my first system and it was a Sega Saturn.

When i got the Sega Saturn i was happy as hell and the system came with 3 games. Daytona USA, Virtua Cop & Virtua Fighter 2.

I would play VF2 all the time after school, i would have friends come over and all we played was VF2 and so when y'all came out with Fighters Megamx i was on that faithfully and i couldn't afford it but i rented the hell outta that game til one of the employees gave it to me cuz i must of rented that game at least 6 times in a row maybe more.

After Fighters Megamix i never got a chance to play VF3 but i had a PS2 and when VF4 came out i had to get it. i was on it more that VF2 cuz i was all on quest mode and i did this A.I. Training and i loved that shit i was on A.I. Training so much i had a hard time beating it and ima tell y'all this... that is the best mode i have ever played in a Fighting game.

I got real serious in when VF5 came out for the Xbox 360 it was on!, i was excited as hell to play that game online and i've met alot of good players on there, i've played people from all over the world like Japan, United Kingdom etc.

As for VF5R i hope y'all port that to consoles, i've been on youtube looking at videos and VF5R Tournaments and all, us fans really need to have that game in our homes, this is the best real fighting game out there and y'all really kicked it off first with it being the 3D Fighting game u started a new Genre and everybody knows that. Namco knows that, Capcom knows it and so does Tecmo and etc. i've read on VFDC people got real god ideas for the game and i hope y'all follow through with it so please bring Virtua Fighter 5 R to Xbox 360/Playstation 3!!

Sega, If yall need some good ideas come to VFDC and holla at your real fans!!!

Seeing the current resurgence of fighting games on home consoles with Street Fighter IV (soon to be Super SFIV), Tekken 6, Blazblue, etc It's unbelivable that Sega it's not there with the latest iteration of one of the best and most technicaly demanding games in the form of Virtua Fighter 5 R.

I'm originally a Soul Calibur player but the original VF5 got me hooked months in advance of the home console release, and it was the very first game I bought alongside my Xbox 360. I would still be playing it regularly over Soul Calibur IV (that I've almost abandoned and am not to fond of nowadays), Tekken 6 (wich I like a lot) and Street Fighter IV. But I'm not, because I know that there is a superior version I would rather be playing. I know I'm missing something and that hurts my interest on learning and improving. And this awesome game has a lot to learn, and I will really love to do it.

Furthermore, I'm a Blaze player and a big wrestling fan, and Sega gave Blaze some of my favorite moves and holds in VF5R. I mean, come on, El Blaze with Pole Shift, Sol Naciente, Aoki Hikari and a move very similar to the Sliding D? Sign me in, I need to do that!

    Dear Sega,

Virtua Fighter was a huge influence to the gaming world and has set standards. Virtua Fighter to this day has set standards that even some games just cannot meet. It was rough when we first heard that VF4: Final Tuned did not get a console release. It is definitely rough that VF5R might not get a console release either. It isn't too late however. Having VF5R in any way/shape/form would be so great, especially with this fighting game boom that we've been having lately. Virtua Fighter 5 started off the stream of fighting games we've been having and Sega should keep going with this.

Besides, Tekken 6 is rolling out. Are you really gonna let Namco get ahead like that? >.>

When I first got into fighting games roughly three and a half years ago, I had decided that the two games I wanted to get good at were Virtua Fighter and Guilty Gear.

Today, I am spending most of my time with BlazBlue for a simple yet sad reason; no one plays VF or GG anymore.

Two years ago, there were consistent Virtua Fighter gatherings here in Northern California, where I met a good friend of mine named Neidel (who runs iplaywinner.com, a fighting game news website for which I write articles and guides for) as well as the rest of the Norcal VF scene, and I can't say I regret meeting anyone I have met through VF so far.

Why did the gatherings die down? A few reasons; we were an entire iteration behind by the time summer of 08 came around, the scene has had minimal support from Sega outside of Japan, and in the face of the dedicated communities for Capcom, Namco and ArcSys games, we couldn't steal the spotlight of major tournaments such as Evolution, Final Round, etc. Virtua Fighter was a pair of headphones at a concert- no matter how loud it tried to be, it was never heard except by those who took the effort to hear it.

Today, the US fighting game scene is different. Instead of five or six games competing for attention at Evo, there are now only three games this year, and all of which are in the spotlight of the gaming public. The three main fighting game communities in the US (Capcom, Namco and ArcSys) are all behind one game each (though undoubtedly, some are less happy than others about it) and there's room for a new competitor.

If Sega were to release VF5R internationally, it would help not only the US fighting game scene but also the scenes in Europe and Southeast Asia, where Virtua Fighter has had dedicated followings since it's inception.

With the right marketing, VF5R would be a hit. VF games have sold pretty well for the most part (VF5 selling ~750,000 between both platforms, and VF2 selling ~2 million) and I don't think 5R would be any different if you gave the international market a chance to try it out.

If Sega were to release VF5R this year, it would quite possibly by my only game related purchase the entire year due to the immense amount of time I would spend playing it and little else. I would even buy both the PS3 and 360 versions, even though I don't own a PS3, to bring to local gatherings of other fighting games and try to generate interest (which I have done before actually, and with surprisingly positive results).

So please, think this through. This isn't Shenmue 3 we're asking for, we just want to play a game that's been out in Japan for nearly two years now. I don't think it's much to ask and it would without a doubt be worth the effort to please your fans abroad and generate interest among the uninitiated.

    From hardedge.de:

Hello my name is Felix. I'm playing VF since the second game on the PC. Even though the first impact shocked me a little bit, I gave the game Years later another try with VF4:Evo. There I started to like the series much because I had the feeling I understood why I've won or why I lost. It's not some kind of Luck, Skill is needed.

Also VF5 was one of my first PS3 games and I liked the improvement much better compared to the predecessors. Sure, I was disappointed that only the Xbox360 Version had online play, but it was still fun. And after I've heared that VF5R would be released to the Arcades, I was hoping that the Game would be also announced to the Consoles and that both this time get online play. Well, till today it wasn't announced.

And now here is my wish: The Game gets a Xbox360 and/or Playstation 3 Port. Since outside of Japan you don't really have a Chance to play the Game and the only Chance to see something of it is through Replay Videos of other Players via Youtube.

Hope we can hear something positive about it

    Sincerely yours,

Felix von Paul from Neuwied (Germany)

I really start playing it when VF4-EVO came out, and like the guy above me i understood why i've won or lost.
Virtua Fighter is the best figthing game i've ever played and i really hope that they bring VF5R to us in europe or america.

It would be even better when they make a online play mode for the ps3 too. I would buy it instantly [IMG]

Hello my name is Tomissa. My first arcade experience was Virtua Fighter 1. Since that day I became a real fan of the game. I began in arcade with the first 3 games. Then on Playstation 2 with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution.

The Virtua Fighter Saga is amazing and it would great if you could release Virtua fighter 5 R outside of Japan for all the fans worldwide who are waiting this game so much as I do. I don't understand why you don't wish to release it. The game is waited, it will have a success I'm sure of it. It would be interesting if the game was released online as you did for After Burner Climax for example.

Anyway, I love Virtua Fighter like a lot of people in France and in Europe and I really hope you'll consider our opinion. Thank you for reading this message.

Long life to Sega and All Hail Virtua Fighter!!
