More fighting games is a good thing, and since I highly doubt that Final Showdown will make it to American arcades, I'd like an X360 port, please. [IMG]

    Thanks for listening. [IMG]

    SEGA,

release VF5 FS on consoles, both - ps3 and x360. There are still people who play this game, and you should care about them.

VF is special, much valuable than other fighting games, not for a ''casual player'' so it doesnt sell so well as Tekken, but there are still people that will buy it and play it.

    Remember about us, Vf fans.

This weekend I got together with three friends whom I had not seen in close to two years. When we were kids we spent every weekend together, staying up till dawn playing video games new and old. We absorbed everything we could as we were genuine fans of the medium. At a point, however, we became Fighting Fans. There was something about the skill involved, the community, discovering new techniques and engaging one another in combat. The competition between us was always heated, yet remained friendly as, with each fight, we got better. We beat one another to help one another grow and become a better fighter.

I owned both Virtua Fighter 4 and VF4 Evolution but hadn't played either in years. When my friends came over, they brought all their fighting games, their newest edition being VF5. By some magnificent coincidence, I had recently become aware of VF5R and have been watching match vids obsessively for weeks. We through in their copy of VF5 and went at it. The old air of competition sparked immediately. I picked my main, Kage. His moves were an extention of my fingers. Every attack was instinctual; every guard, precise. I had never mastered guard escapes or evasion when fighting the computer, but in these matches some urgency forced me to include them. This was not merely a match. It was the REAL DEAL! I had to win, for my honor. Our matches went back and forth. Twice, I was rolled over in the first two rounds only to come back in the next three and pull off the win from far behind. The rush of such an earned victoy - that is why we fight.

SEGA, bring Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown to US home consoles, with online. GGPO will aid any problems with lag. The arcade scene in America is not dead; in fact, the tournament scene is brimming with life! Your fans want Virtua Fighter 5. Reward their loyalty.

    Dear Sega,
I am a huge fan of vf since VF2 on the Sega Saturn, a truely amazing port of the arcade version. I bought a Dreamcast mainly for two AM2 games, vf3tb and shenmue, then i bought an xbox 360 just fort VF5 and VT3 !

When VF5r was announced i was so excited, more than the Pointer Sisters ! Please bring it to us, and a dlc for Final Shodown maybe 6 months later the arcade version will be good.

Sega arcade games are the best, all here think the same. Like Sonic you have to believe in yourself ; )

    SEGA of Japan,

I am writing this post in light of the newly announced Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. I chose not to participate in this petition for Virtua Fighter 5: R, partially because I was bitter, but mostly because I knew it wasn't business-wise to even make a port of a game that casual fighters won't see much difference in from the original. I knew that if it wasn't out by now, we would not see it ported to console, and finally accepted that fact.

However, with Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown having been announced at this year's AOU, everything has changed. I'm seeing the same fire in VF fans being sparked that I saw when both VF5 came to console and when VF5: R was announced. I'm seeing old and newer VF players come out from everywhere to voice their desire to play this new iteration. I'm seeing fighting game fans who aren't necessarily VF fans show interest in the newer titles, and receive their sympathy when they realize we have gone without the most recent version for some time now.

It has been long enough to release another iteration of VF5 to the U.S. market that it won't feel like a quick expansion to the general consumer. The sheer amount of content that is likely to be in Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown will warrant a full-priced purchase even from the most casual of fighting fans. I realize VF5 did not sell as well as SEGA, or any of the fans here would have hoped, but that is not reason to not take the risk one more time on a newer and likely, better product.

I have been playing other fighters with the absence of a current VF to play, but not one of them has brought me the same joy and satisfaction that VF does in terms of learning how to play, the reward of practice, and the general enjoyment of the game's engine.

On a youtube page, showcasing the AOU trailer for Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown, I posted a comment stating that if SEGA were to make a console port of the game, I would promise to buy two copies of that game. That promise is true, and will stand until the game is released on console. If it comes out for both PS3 and XBOX 360, I will pick up one copy for each. If it only comes out for one console, I will still hold true to my promise and just buy two copies for that one console, or buy two copies and gift one to a potential new player who may be interested in learning VF but is hesitant.

I don't want SEGA to lose money by porting to console, I really don't. I am optimistic that it would be well worth their time and effort to make the port international and boast about VF's robust system and features as its huge selling point. I see this as a win-win situation as of right now. Hardcore fans desire the game more than anything, fighting game market may seem saturated right now but there are many new fighting fans who are willing to try whatever new game is put out, and SEGA has already done one port from the arcade so surely some of the work and knowledge is already there for the prospect of this new port.

Nothing in the video game industry would please me more than to know we will indeed be seeing Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown come home to a console port.

I sincerely thank you for not giving up on the Virtua Fighter series, and truly hope you have not given up on appealing to Western and other global fans of Virtua Fighter.

    Sincerely,

    KrsJin (Christian)

I've been playing VF since 2 on the Saturn, and have got into it pretty seriously from about 4 onwards. I've been waiting for VF5R for years since it came out - my PS3 VF5 vanilla is still on my shelf with hundreds of hours of playtime behind it and my two Virtua Sticks are ready and waiting for more VF action.

VF5 Final Showdown to PS3 and 360, please! Day 1 purchase, and guaranteed not to leave my console for months and I'll pimp it wherever I can!

    Dear SEGA,

If you port VF5 Final Showdown to console I will preorder it once it is announced. I will buy both versions if you make it for XBOX 360 and PS3. I will buy any peripheral you make for the game. I will beat the game with every character and do it again and again. I will host gatherings at my house so all my friends can learn and enjoy it. I will travel to other people's gatherings and bring the game with me to show what a great game it is. I will push for local tournaments to include the game in the lineup and help run it's brackets. I will travel to other tournaments outside of my area to help foster competition in those areas.

I did all this when Virtua Fighter 5 came out for PS3 and XBOX 360.

Let's make it happen again SEGA. [IMG]

    Please, please, please SEGA:

I am a serious gamer; I won't make promises i won't keep; i donĀ“t have much time to play games these days. But when i have time to, i only wanna play high quality games.

I can't promise a lot of hours into VF5FS but i'm going to buy this game for sure and play the heck out of it in the little gaming time that i have.

Make this happen; it can't hurt your pockets, the game is already done, all you need to do is port it and make a lot of people happy [IMG]

So please, make it whatever way you like it, be it retail or DLC but do not let us fans wait hopelessly, I'm sure you'll be amazed how many people is ready and waiting for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown on consoles.

I currently own Virtua Fighter, Virtua Fighter Remix, Virtua Fighter 2 & even Virtua Fighter Kids for the Saturn, and own VF4 Evolution for PS2 and Virtua Fighter 5 for the Xbox 360. To me, Virtua Fighter is a fighting game that the casual gamer will turn their nose up at, because there isn't fire, lighting, and explosions like so many of the other dime-a-dozen fighters out there. However, I do believe that Virtua Fighter is simply the best fighting game on the market. Easy to pick up on, yet difficult to master, which makes for a great game that many people of all skill levels can enjoy. I will most certainly be willing to buy Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown upon release. I also really hope to see it released for the 360 and PS3, with the same features. I own an Xbox 360, but I don't want my fellow VF fans who own a PS3 to come out on the short end of the stick, like with VF5, when the 360 was the only one to get Online compatability. So you have my word Sega, make this happen and I will most certainly pre-order and buy as soon as it becomes available.

Virtua fighter is one of those games that take some time to get accustomed to, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Starting with Virtua Fighter 4, for Playstation 2, I devoted countless hours to learning every nuance of my chosen character. When I happened to hear how difficult it was to play as Akira, even though he is the posterboy for the game, I committed myself to learning his techniques, setups, and strategies. While I am far from being a world class Akira player, I enjoyed the difficulty in learning him and took pride whenever I performed a difficult set of attacks, knowing that my training paid off. When Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution was released, I imported the game first from overseas and clocked in more hours into the game, picking up Vanessa and Wolf along the way. I thoroughly enjoyed it and regarded Virtua Fighter as not just a fighting game, but a fighting simulator, much like gran turismo is not just a racing game. I bought a PS3 for the sole purpose of playing Virtua Fighter 5 when it was released. I loved that game, and when Virtua Fighter 5 Online was released for the Xbox 360, I jumped on that. I have kept track of what new revisions of Virtua Fighter 5 were available in Japan, and have been envious of players who were able to play in the arcades of Japan.

Sega, you have my word as a career fighting gamer, that whatever version(s) of Virtua Fighter 5 you choose to release on console, I will purchase and enjoy. Hopefully it would be the latest version and I would be allowed to compete against the best the world has to offer online.

PS. I even bought Virtua Quest when that came out just because it had a tie-in with Virtua Fighter. That's how devoted I was.

    Dear Sega,

Please Sega, port Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown to the home consoles. This is a great game series and a great community, and both need to be revitalized over here in the U.S. I myself will buy multiple copies of the game, and even buy a 360 just so I can help support the game even more. I know a few people who the only reason they haven't gotten into VF is because there simply isn't a "new" game for them to play. So please Sega, make this happen.

    Hello members of VirtuaFighter.com,
I'm spin-dash from the french website Objectif-Sega.com and with this message, the team members from Objectif-Sega.com support the desire to have Virtua Fighter 5R ported to home consoles.

We love the SEGA arcade games, and you can find some of our arcade reviews (in french, sorry) here: http://www.objectif-sega.com/arcade-tests-100.htm

But, if today we are all here (Virtua Fighter players from all the world), it's because we have a great passion towards the Virtua Fighter series since the very beginning.
So, yes, a port of Virtua Fighter 5R on consoles can be a dream come true.

(When I was in Japan, I did a little prewiew of Virtua Fighter 5R when the game came out... here: http://www.objectif-sega.com/VF+5+R++nos+impressions+a+Tokyo!-news-913.htm yes, we would love to have VF 5R at home [IMG] ).

    With respects.

Hi there, I'm Jof, one of the admins over at NiGHTSintoDreams.com.
I promised a friend I would help support this cause, and hey, us fanbases have to stick together, so here I am.

I have very fond memories of playing some Virtua Fighter 2 on my Saturn (it's one of 3 Saturn games I still own), and even if my interest in the fighting game genre is no where near as much as other, I understand completely your position right now. It is completely unfair that certain franchises get shunned like this.

Hell, we're from the NiGHTS forum, need I say more?

In any case, I fully support this movement I wish you all the best in this effort.

Hello to all who read this. I've been a Virtua Fighter fan ever since I played the arcade version of 2 in a local business.

I have purchased and played many entries in the series, and I would love to see Virtua Fighter 5R, or Final Showdown on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

Please don't let one of the greatest fighting series just fade away in the United States.

I am a huge SEGA fan and a great fan of Virtua Fighter.

Virtua Fighter 5 was one of the games that made me buy an xbox 360. That and Sega Rally Revo.

Please consider bringing Virtua Fighter 5R/Final to consoles and the PC platform for us loyal fans.

    Dear SEGA,

I'm waiting for Virtua Fighter 5 R since the official announcement for arcades, because of the great updates and the addition of the new character (Jean).

I bought the original Virtua Fighter 5 for Xbox 360 twice and I'm always playing it online. It's definitely the best fighting game of this generation in every way - visuals, gameplay.

Please, release this version for home consoles. Now you have a great opportunity because the user base of both consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) is much bigger than before.

I'm a SEGA fan since the Genesis era and I really, really want this gem.

    Thanks in advance,
