    SEGA:

I am a big fan from Suzuki-san and AM2 Virtua Fighter. I have been a fan since the first Virtua Fighter. I played it in the arcade and console on Genesis-32X. I have been playing every incarnation in consoles and arcade alike. Played VF2 a lot on my Saturn. I remember seen VF3 on the arcade for the first time and then playing it in the Dreamcast also. Those were great days. VFIV Evolution was a great addition to the PS2. Virtua Fighter V Online on the 360 was a great achievement in allowing to play with other people around the world. I, as many Virtua Fighter fans that have supported SEGA and Virtua Fighter since long time and new comers alike, does not have access to the VFVR arcade. I, as many fans I'm sure, will love the opportunity to play the game in our consoles.

As always, a SEGA and Virtua Fighter fan, I am presenting my support for you. Hoping to receive the same.

Sega, I love you. Despite all the times you've let me down, I love you.

You never brought us more Rez, but I still love you.

You never brought us more Panzer Dragoon, but I still love you.

You've let far too many great and beautiful things fall by the wayside in your time...at least, you have here in the states. I keep my fingers crossed for more Rez, I keep my fingers crossed for Panzer Dragoon Saga to see a re-release, even as a bargain download. I have my fingers crossed for VF5R.

There is no fighter that can measure up to the Virtua Fighter series. Even against the likes of Capcom, Arc System Works, even SNK (a shadow of it's former self), the Virtua Fighter series stands above them. I enjoy almost every fighting game, I love Street Fighter, I love BlazBlue, I love Samurai Showdown, and even with a passing familiarity, I love King of Fighters. I just can't help but love Virtua Fighter more, a game that taught me how to love fighting games better, a game that taught me how to learn a fighting game.

Sega, I have my fingers crossed again. You've grown into one of the strongest labels in gaming in a rebound that has impressed many, you now have the ability and reputation to make any of my dreams come true. My fingers will be crossed for more Rez, for more Panzer Dragoon until the day I die, but, I beg you, before the arthritis kicks in, bring us VF5R. Dare I say it, old friend, but you owe us.

Good old Virtua Fighter. Like many here, I have been playing this game since the original, not in arcades mind you. I started on my buddies Sega Saturn. In fact, I just bought one recently with a copy of VF2, my favorite fighting game...period. So if VF5R came to consoles, I would be stoked to have some serious online competition. C'mon Sega, your fans are waiting!(and Sonic 4 is going to be amazing...sorry, just had to add that in case someone from Sega actually reads this)

Virtua Fighter remains for me the only 3D fighter of choice. I have been a big fan of the series since it's very first inception and have played every version available since the original. It saddens me that there is a VF out there that I can not play within reasonable means. I guess if I really wanted to play the game I could import a japanese cabinet but times being what they are, I don't have that disposable cash.

What I truly love most about Virtua Fighter, is the fight mechanics. The fact that the game is based on the players understanding of spacing, speed and priority. The game is incredibly complex but at its very core simple. It is a match of fists and feet, not flashy pyrotechnics or gruesome over the top moves. But to watch or participate in a high level VF match is to watch true art.

I sincerely hope that SEGA reconsiders its position on publishing a console version of VF5R. As a big fan I can already promise my purchase.

I've been playing video games for as far back as I can remember and nothing brings out my love for them like a good fighting game. I consider myself to be a bit of a connoisseur of the genre. That being said, I have only praise to give to the Vitua Fighter franchise. I got into the series somewhat late with the fourth installment and fell in love almost instantly. The control scheme was brilliant and intuitive, but in ways unlike most fighting games. I can generally pick up any fighter and know what I'm doing, but I couldn't with VF4 and that thrilled me. It's nigh impossible to just grab the controller, start pressing buttons and expect to win, whereas you can get by with button mashing in nearly every modern fighter. VF4 was pure art and as soon as I got myself a next generation console, I picked up the sequel. VF5 was everything that VF4 was only better. With more characters and graphics that, to this day, put other games to shame, VF5 is certainly a worthy of its predecessor. Now, I suppose the point this little rant has been leading up to is the answer to this question: Would I buy an improved version of an already amazing game if Sega had it in their hearts to release it on console? Well, there are only so many ways I can say yes to that question, so I'll just say that I'll be waiting at Game Stop on the day it comes out with however much money they ask of me.

    Waiting, willing and wanting,
    Zach, New Jersey

PS, be sure to thank IGN! I wouldn't have known about this petition if it weren't for them!

Been a SEGA fan since age 11, I am now 30, I have been playng Virtua Fighter since VF 1 came out in the arcades and eventually on Saturn and 32X. I registered just to provide my support.

I am more than willing (not speaking for anyone else) to pay a full 60.00 bucks to get VF5R home on PS3 and 360. This is one of the greatest fighting games ever made and a part of my growing up. So please SEGA make this happen.

Wow seen this posted on IGN and did not know there were people trying so hard for this, impressive.

I have been playing Virtua Fighter since the original on Sega Saturn in fact it was one of the main reasons I bought a Sega Saturn. I was blow away by the depth this series has come to offer and I have bought every title released since. I would love for Sega to release VF5R on the Playstation 3 and with online this time, if there is one thing I can say is I keep my word, Sega if you make VF5R on PS3 I will buy it.

I was in Tokyo just last month and I got the privilege to play this game while I was there. This game is huge in Tokyo arcades! This isn't some small upgrade either. Every stage has been redone, new stages are available, every character has been upgraded, new characters are available, and the menu's look 100000x better than VF5. So why hasn't Sega released this on consoles yet?! Get on with it Sega! First Shenmue, now THIS!

I'm a hardcore Virtua Fighter fan! I've been playing since back in the day of VF2 on the Sega Saturn and have been playing since, and I still currently play VF5 on my PS3. I'm such a hardcore fan that I've even played all the spin-off on the Saturn including VF Kids, Fighting Vipers, and Fighter's Megamix. All Awesome games by the way.

Anyways I would love to see VF5R come to the US on the home consoles because VF5 is such an awesome game, it is just a shame that I am unable to play with other fighter's online, and I know VF5R can remedy that!

Please Sega, Give us VF5R! You have done such an amazing job with games recently I know you'll do us proud with this game and I also know it will do the company proud.

I've been playing Virtua Fighter seriously since 2003.I had played VF2 on the saturn, but it wasn't until VF4 that I really got into it.I just got enough money to buy a next gen system, so I'll be getting 5 soon, and I would love to see R brought to the consoles as well. The amount of things you guys added to this game is staggering, it would be crime if it didn't see a console release.I am really hoping you consider bringing VF5:R to the consoles.

I don't even like Virtua Fighter but I'm Matt's friend.

I really hope this comes to consoles to make him happy. He also likes music.

    Love,

I've only played Virtua Fighter from VF4 onwards, but I was immediately hooked. Virtua Fighter provides a very unique experience with a level of authenticity and depth not found in other fighting games.

I'd like to mention that while I've obviously seen all of the Virtua Fighter games in arcades, I've only really played them on home consoles (first on a PS2, now on a PS3).

If Virtua Fighter 5R were available for the PS3, I'd buy it on day one, as I have with VF4, VF4E, and VF5.

    Dear Sega,

I don’t want to create a long explanation of what the Virtua Fighter series means to me in general, as I do not feel it is necessary to do so. The reason why is because many individuals who I have tremendous respect for have already submitted concise and heartfelt opinions on this series that I totally agree with, and they happen to express their love for the series in words better than I ever could.

The only point I want to make with this letter is that at one time – as I’m sure you know – the one-on-one fighting game genre ruled the videogame market with an iron fist. Then all of a sudden, games of this genre had been pushed to the backburner by the mainstream and thus remained dormant for a while. But now, fighting games have once again begin to gain the attention of the mainstream videogame crowd for a variety of reasons. And with this “renaissance” of sorts for this previously-dormant genre, there is a golden opportunity for the Virtua Fighter series to capture its own share of the spotlight so to distinguish itself from other fighting game franchises and re-establish itself as a recognizable force in the public eye. For starters, it would be a fantastic idea if you were to seize the moment by making the bold decision to release VF5R on consoles.

Consider this: Even devout fans of rival fighting game franchises have let it be known in this petition that they wish to have access to the latest -- and arguably the best game yet –- from the superb VF series. I think that despite being a largely unheralded franchise in many parts of the world, that observation in itself speaks volumes to the amount of adoration and respect the VF series still garners among those who have experienced playing games from this series in their lifetime.

Please reconsider your current stance on withholding VF5R from the legion of fans that populate the world outside of Japan.

    Respectfully yours,

    Dear Sega,

I was a Street Fighter fan. I've played Street Fighter since the first game came out twenty years ago. I've known about Virtua Fighter and remember owning it on the Sega Saturn. Over the years, I've owned only one other VF game, I believe it was Virtua Fighter 3 on Dreamcast. However, I never really liked Virtua Fighter because it had too steep a learning curve. Shallow street fighter players like myself could not possibly understand why anyone would spend countless of hours on VF when mashing buttons can easily determine outcomes of matches (e.g. SF).

It wasn't until I started playing VF5 did I realize how much I was missing! It took me literally 1 year of constant practice to become decent with only one character. The more I play VF5 the more I appreciate the love that went into the game mechanics. The learning curve is steep but once you get the hang of it, it is immensely satisfying to be able to use your character effectively. Now that I am addicted to VF5, there is literally no other game that held my interest since. Street Fighter what?

Virtua Fighter has been the only game I consistently play day over day (even now) and I simply cannot get enough. Please bring VF5R to XBOX360. I will be among the first in line to preorder!

    Thank you for listening.

I won't get too elaborate here but basically videogames must be challenging for me to bother playing them and you cannot button mash (Tekken series is button mash galore) your way through competition in Virtua Fighter. Even though I only started playing the series at VF5 on the consoles I was Immediately Taken By The Wealth of Depth & Complexity That the PERFECTLY BALANCED CHARACTERS OFFER!!! Akira is My Favourite videogame character of all time and I can perform all of his moves on the XBOX 360 controller (nearly impossible if you've tried it)and any console controller if that is not dedication I don't know what is.

On a more serious note I think I will probably quit gaming altogether because to me at least there is nothing better than a good fighting game where skill is necessary. In Street Fighter you can Spam special moves and win and Tekken is chalk full of button bashing and overly damaging juggles exclusive to certain poorly (Steve is scary overpowered) balanced characters. Virtua Fighter any character can dominate even though there are easy characters to play (Jacky) a skilled player can destroy simpler characters with harder to use characters like Goh & Akira. This is because of SEGA's amazingly balanced fighting game engine as there is no other game I could personally consider a SPORT!

I love Virtua Fighter 5 and if a new one does not come out on consoles I may seriously quit gaming altogether. I am not exaggerating at all and I hope SEGA hears my voice and reignites the hardcore gamer in me and gives us all a chance to play a NEW VF!

    Dear Sega:
Virtua Fighter is hands down the best fighter ever developed, and I want the newest installment. My friends and I spent an entire vacation traveling down to California from from Washington State to play Virtua Fighter 4: Evo in Arcades there because there were none in our state. Right now none of us can afford to travel to Japan but we have all talked about it, just to play Virtua Fighter 5 R in the Arcades there. If it were released for the console, either 360 or PS3, I would pre-order and wait in line at Midnight just to get my hands on the newest copy.

I've been a fan of Sega's for a long time. Still am. And I've been a fan of fighting games for even longer. Virtua Fighter Remix was one of the first games that I picked up for my (Japanese) Sega Saturn. Since then I have owned Virtua Fighter 2 on the Saturn, VF3 on the Dreamcast, VF4 Evolution on PS2 (I didn't even own a PS2 at the time, I just bought it to play on a friend's console), and VF5 on Xbox360. Now I am definitely still a pretty crappy player, but that has never stopped me enjoying every Virtua Fighter release.

Virtua Fighter is one of the few games that makes me want to learn and be better. There's a great sense of accomplishment when a strategy plays out exactly how you intended, or you grab that last gasp win, which few other games can match, even other fighting games. This is because Virtua Fighter requires that much more time to start to become proficient, which means that the payoff is that much greater.

VF5R really should be played by as many people as possible. But if there's any reason to port VF5R to home consoles, it's this one: Taka-Arashi! He. Is. Awesome. I loved the big fella in VF3 and have sorely missed him since. Please don't deprive me of the chance to use him again Sega. I was excited to hear that you were bringing him back, and have wanted to see him in action ever since, fully realised on current hardware with an updated move list. Unfortunately we can't all live in Japan and play the game in the arcades, so for all your past, present, and future fans in the rest of the world, please port the game and let us experience the full splendor of Taka-Arashi once again.

Just wanted to show support. I've played VF4 and I found it very nice. I loved it. I always look for matches in Japan on VF5R machines, but those aren't as common. I have patiently waiting for there to be VF5R for the console. Price is not a big deal when you're talking about a quality game.

I always want more SEGA arcade on consoles. I would love Virtua Fighter 5R, just makes so much sense, especially since PS3 is taking off in Japan this could be a big seller over there.

    Come on SEGA!

Totally! When I think about this game I am so all about it in a way I feel hesitant to describe, because if I did it would be the closest anyone could ever get to expressing the truth, and the truth scares me... ... but like, in a good way. Bring this game stateside and I will give you my money, Sega. It's as simple as that. Now do it because I said so!!!!
