i only recently got into virtua fighter 5 and it's such a fun game it would be good if we could get the newest instalment here as we have no arcade relese here in australia so we have no other way to play 5r it's rebalanced and has at least 1 new character so it would be great to get to play it.

Well, first of all i would like to thank Mike and Kamaage for this incredible idea.
    My message to Sega:
I have being playing Virtua Fighter 5 for 2 years. When i only started this game i became obsessed with it system and chess art oriented gameplay.
Though i played only 1 character among all that have existed it took me alot of time to Learn him. I am still playing Kage-Maru cause i am fond of japan culture and especially Ninjutsu [With Great Respect to Soke Masaaki Hatsumi].
VF5 is very important for me thats why i usually watch japan top pro's videos and try to lead my game to a whole new level. I especially prefer to watch Koedo,Jin,Hauru,Fuudo,Homestay etc. cause they encourage me to play this truly amazing game and train as hard as i can.
I wish u would be very kind and will make me and other VF fans all over the world extremely happy by porting VF5R on console.

    Hello,

I just wanted to show my support for bringing VF5R to the console market. I've been a big fan of the series since it first showed up in local arcades; even frequently made trips to other cities just to play as it was hard to find them in Northern California. I always got excited when new versions would come out and try to get any magazines; screenshots and videos that had articles about the game. I was very proud when my all-time favorite game was actually recognized by the Smithsonian Institution for its innovation.

I was dissapointed when Taka-Arashi was left out of VF4 however when he was brought back in VF5R, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. Still waiting patiently for it to show up in some form here in USA, though with the lack of video arcades here these days; my only chance would be a console version. In the United States; we don't have much of a standup arcade market as we used to in the past and accessibility to titles such as Virtua Fighter have been very limited to home consoles and online gaming.

When I heard about Kamaage's VF5R for console effort, as well as noticing YouTube videos and the like appearing to help champion his support; I had to step up and lend my voice in support of this effort seeing how it was this kind of campaigning that helped bring Taka-Arashi back to the series in the first place.

Becuase of that, I believe those responsible for the franchise's direction appriciate how games like Virtua Fighter have the capability to build very strong social communities like ones I have witnessed in sites like the VFDC. The VFDC itself, has in the past; helped many new players become stronger fans. And I personally feel that bringing VF5R to the consoles would be a great help in bringing in more players, which will by result expand these influental communities.

    Thanks for reading,

I only started playing VF with the console release of VF5. I've played all the 3D fighters that have come out since but none of them compare to VF5, its such a high quality game that it deserves to be much more popular. VF5R could be a huge game if its marketed right and it would be a day 1 purchase for me.

I've been playing Virtua fighter ever since number 1 hit the arcades over a decade ago. From the days of the giant moon hops in 1 and 2, to playing as the daytona car in megamix, all the way up to getting destroyed by a Brad player in VF5R during my trip to Japan.

VF5R is a great game that should be enjoyed by all, not just those with the privilege of visiting/living in Japan.

As a VF player since VF1, I would love to be able to play the latest version on consoles, online.

Fighting games are enjoying a resurgence in the past year or so, and I think this is a great time for Sega to release a definitive version of VF5R onto consoles for everyone to enjoy.

I hope Sega will take a look at the gaming landscape and work hard to implement best-of-industry features into a console port.

    - Netcode at least on par with Blazblue, SF2HDR, GGPO.

    - The wonderful tutorial modes, included tournament replays, etc of VF4EVO on PS2.

    - Automated tournaments, ladders, clans, personal profile webpages, social networking, replay vault/browser, and other competitive community features from PC games of various genres: FPS, MMO, RTS, etc.

    - A carefully considered plan of updates, patches, balance adjustments, based on solid data from tournament replays, feedback from tournament players, etc. (Feedback on aesthetics, features, and other non-balance stuff can be obtained from all players.)

A game like VF truly lives and dies on competition - it has very little story or single player appeal. By supporting VF's e-sport qualities with excellent community features, I believe VF can be a unique and popular force in the gaming community.

I've been playing VF since I was 9, when it just came out and when I was getting into fighting games. VF has been one of my favorite games becasue of the skill and the moves and the fun. I've played every VF that has came out. And Now, sega, please listen to the fans! We want VF5R out on consoles. After watching countless VF5R youtube matches, I think bringing to consoles will really give fighting games that power that it once had back in the mid 90s. Even though Tekken and Street Fighter are ruling the seem, which is nothing wrong, We still want a VF5r here. There are still VF fans, not just in the states, but around the world. VF is still a competive game and hopefully if it gets to be released on consoles, the VF community can shine again.

The first Virtua Fighter game on the Sega Saturn was the first ever Virtua Fighter game that I ever played. I really didn't pay much attention to Virtua Fighter because I grew up a fan of Tekken, because at the time, I had the Playstation. I got the chance to play Fighters Megamix at a friend's home and was reintroduced to the Virtua Fighter characters as well as the Fighting Vipers characters. I had a lot of fun playing this game, not that I was good at it, but played the mess outta that game. I was then reintroduced to the Virtua Fighter franchise itself when I played Virtua Fighter 4. I played this game off and on, but when Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution came out, that was when I ended up playing Virtua Fighter consistently and haven't gone back since then. I respect what franchises like Tekken and Dead or Alive have done, but Virtua Fighter is the "BEST" 3D Realistic Fighting game franchise ever. The training system is the best ever (especially VF4 and VF4Evo) to the point where any beginner player can become an expert with any character. I was disappointed that Virtua Fighter 4 Final Tuned never came to US consoles, but Virtua Fighter 5 surely made up for that. I enjoy the mess outta VF5. I have my favorite character of Wolf, but I play to have fun and get good with every character in the game. And to know that Japan has Virtua Fighter 5R going strong, I believe it also deserves to grow strong on the consoles in across the world, because they want a piece of the action too. Virtua Fighter 5 has been a sucess in the World Cyber Games, and with VF5R in the mix, it can be greater. I am a VF fan for life and want to continue along in the franchise, but if only one area is being exposed to it, how can it be the best it can be if it doesn't branch off into other areas. The people in the US have missed out on VF4Final Tuned. Please don't let them miss out on VF5R. Let them share the sucess too. Thank you!

I'm an extreme "groupie" for fighting games, but I've always played Tekken and Street Fighter when I was little (Street Fighter 2 and Turbo for Super Nintendo, and Tekken 2 for Playstation), so I've never really had the opportunity to play Virtua Fighter much. My first time was Virtua Fighter 2 on Sega Saturn. Even though I was young, and didn't know much about the fighting system (or any fighting system in any game at that), the characters stuck out to me as very authentic and different from the usual video game characters that we see.

Once I saw Pai, I knew that she was officially my favorite character, and still is to this day.

Since I didn't have a Sega dreamcast, I never got to play Virtua Fighter 3, but once Virtua Fighter 4 and 4: Evolution came out on Playstation 2, I knew that was my chance to play Virtua Fighter again. Once I got those two games, I played them all day, every day. I even thought that the ranking system was going to be extremely hard. Surprisingly, it wasn't for me with Pai. I've became a good player (not a great one yet though)

I got an Xbox 360 the time it was released on PS3, yet we only had one fighting game at the time (Dead or Alive 4, and I wished of it releasing on Xbox 360, because of the lack of fighting games on that console, and thankfully, I got that wish. Once VF5 for Xbox 360 was released, I, of course, played that all day everyday, with, you guessed it, Pai. Once I knew that VF5R was going to be released in Arcade, I knew that, after watching the videos, this was going to be an excellent game to play, but there had been no news of a console release, and we have had those kind of things happen before with VF4: Final Tuned.

So now you know that U.S. has some hardcore VF fans, and hopefully if VF5R was released on consoles (that includes the Xbox 360), Sega is able to continue the VF community, and fighting game community.

Hi, I'm italian and I'm really looking forward to a console port of Virtua Fighter 5 R. I'm playing VF since the first episode, both at the arcade or in the various console versions. I really loved VF2 on SEGA Saturn!

I melted my copies of VF4 and VF4 Evolution on PS2, and a friend of mine joined to my passion for this game.

I'm so much in love with this franchise! I've both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of VF5, and I've the japanese version of VF Anniversary on PS2.

Please, SEGA, do a console port of VF5R with the training from the PS2 version of VF4 and a good online. I'll buy it at day one.

I've been playing VF for 7 years and would love for VF5R to come to consoles. I work for a national Playstation magazine and would be able to promote the game as much as I can should it be released. Please Sega!

I just noticed this topic, and as a fellow fighting game player, I simply MUST leave my contribute as well.

SEGA games have always been a sort of refuge for me... They are always so pure, so full of joy and cleanliness, that is always the way I feel after I play some OutRun, gotta love that SEGA blue sky!

That also applies to the Virtua Fighter universe, everything is so polished, so perfect... Please SEGA, listen to your fans once more (and by the way, THANK YOU for amazing After Burner Climax) and bring this surely to be amazing game to SEGA fans worldwide!

I've been a huge fighting game fan for as long as I can remember. I've played virtua fighter since the second game. I still hopeful for a console port of vf5 but, I can't wait to get my hands on Jean. So can you do use all a favor and release a console port so all vf fans outside of japan can have a chance to play the game.

Late to this thread but a long time Virtua Fighter player. I started with Virtua Fighter 1 when I was back in college (yeah, I’m *that* old) and haven’t really stopped playing it since. My main character for the first four games was Jacky and the sheer amount of awesome games I’ve had at the arcades pumping quarters into the cabinet can’t really be transcribed.

I’ll say that VF re-ignited my love of fighting games. I didn’t care much for Street Fighter but VF was 3D at a time when everything was 2D. I loved the game from the get go and the deep moveset made me like it more instead of less. There was no GameFaqs, no published move list. You just figured it all out and didn’t have YouTube or seasoned pros to learn from. You paid your 50 cents and got a whoopin’ like the rest of 'em. If you were good you played on and if you were bad you paid another 50 cents.

No other game caught my attention and got me to drive all over Southern California. I played with a couple other guys and we would even drive from the OC to San Diego (where they had nickel play at certain arcades). It was and is a great community and I love it now as much as I ever did.

I play Lau now and I enjoy the online community and the sense of being in a family who actually *enjoys* playing games. Great people and great times.

Now – give us Virtua Fighter 5-R! We need it! (and add that training mode back – it helps new people and veterans alike!)

    From a Friend:

I played Virtua Fighter since the first game on Sega Genesis, played the Second and then i took a break. When the fourth came out i baught it imidiatly with a play station 2 and when the fifth came out i bought it on the very first day together with a play station 3 (and until now i have only virtua fighter for play station 3).

I love this game and met people with the internet wo played it, too. We made a little group with my brother, my friend (mystD) and myself and searched for other players. We tried to train other players and some of them became quite good.

There was a time when we met every weekend to play together (5 to 12 people). Now we are waiting and hoping that the next version will be released. It is kind of sad that in europe the latest game of the series will probably never be released. The most balanced version with the most items and newest charackters wasnt released until now.

I played this game for 17 years, since the first version and so please Sega release Virtua Fighter 5R. I promise i buy it as soon as i bought the other versions ... on day one!

VF5R On Console! I want it! I Must have it! Seeing the videos on youtube for VF5R made me hype for this game! I love the new characters I see and all those new moves I see my favorites doing! If You release this game on Console. I'd Pre-order it. The new VF5R was sold to me when I firsted watched a video of it. You got a customer in me!

OH and also. I love the new music. If you released a soundtrack, I'd buy that too! I'd be ecstatic if you released a soundtrack as a special deal with a pre-order!

My Name is Nicholas Olivo, United States, And I (at least) Want VF5R on Console! (though I also love the music)
