I've been playing Virtua Fighter since 2004 w/ Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution. I always thought that the training mode was great and really helped bridge the gap between beginners and pros which is really necessary for a game with Virtua Fighter's depth. With a wealth of other fighting game franchises dumbing things down VF's probably the one of the few left that isn't complete trash. The game is really one of a kind and the customization system blows Tekken's outta the water. The game's too awesome and I think with the right promotion and console features the game would do just fine.

I bought Virtua Fighter 5 for ps3 because it came out on that system first, I was hoping added support would come but it never did. [IMG]

I am pleading that a console port of VF5R comes out so that not just the Virtua Fighter fans, but the fighting game scene in general can grow.

Please bring this on console, especially the ps3 hehe. I LOVE fighting games and am getting bored of T6 and sf4. I used to play VF4 all the time at my arcade back in the days. Man it was ssssooooo AWESOME. I'd buy for sure, so would my friends in my community, no doubt about it.

    VF5r WOOOOO!!!!!!!!

    Dear Sega,

Virtua Fighter is arguably the best 3D technical fighter in existence. I've played it from VF2 and have watched various veterans and new players come and go. Its ability to constantly attract a new group of fans dedicated to mastering it can possibly be attributed to Sega's commitment in crafting a deep fighter that is rewarding to those who put in the effort to study it. There are plenty of devoted players around the world who will buy VF5R for consoles without a second thought.

Your corporate policies of engaging lesser known developers like PlatinumGames and Tri-Ace commands respect, for these are risk initiatives that require faith. Now you should further hone this entrepreneurial spirit and demonstrate belief that publishing VF5R will be a profitable venture. The demographics are established, and fans are eager and willing to give you their disposable incomes. The real question is: are you in favor of exercising this opportunity to give glowing reports to your shareholders?

    Yours Sincerely,

I love the Virtua Fighter series but the main problem with the VF games is that it needs an incredible amount of commitment to learn the game. For that kind of commitment to happen, there's need to be a good online community to support it, and there isn't yet any good VF game with a rounded online mode available for it. Fighting games are, for they very nature, a social event, if you take that out of the experience, it's pretty shallow and empty, and that's why VF5 has been lagging behind other gaming franchises in mass acceptance.

We all know VF5 online is just a different game, but almost everygame plays differently online than offline in any case. However online gaming is meant to get people together and start getting into the game, later on you will care a lot more about frame data and all the stuff, but for anyone to even care on learning all that, you need a game that ties them together when they are learning before the even get to think on being a pro, and online gaming has done that.

Fighting games are all the rage today, surprisingly for a dying genre a few years ago, and it's online gaming's fault of course. Not until now there where good enough connections for it to be supported decently, and right now, when demand is so high, when all big franchises are out already and, other than SSF4, no other big fighting game franchise will arrive in a year or so, you have the perfect time gap to release a fully featured, online enabled, VF5R.

Of course, you already released VF5 on the 360 with online, but you divided the community with a PS3 VF5 with no online, slashing half your target customers without online support, and besides X360 online was bare bones, that not the kind of online game a community builds around.

Please give it another try. You already have most of the assets done since the 3d engine, characters, etc, have been ported already, only building what was left, you will have a killer game for a highy demanded genre as of today without any competition on your release date.

And besides, a PSP version proves invaluable as a training tool. I would have never dedicated so many hours to Tekken 6 and SC4 without the PSP port that lets me train everywhere, and I'll get serious with Blazblue also since there's going to be a PSP version, think of it, I don't care if graphics are shitty, if the fighting engine is there and at 60fps, I'll get it.

I would love the chance to get into this series the right way. I intended to buy the PS3 version of VF5, but with no online support i just couldn't commit to learning the game only to play against the AI.

However, If Sega releases VF5R on consoles, it will be the perfect way for me to enter the series and finally join the community to learn the game as much as i possibly can. I would purchase this for sure.

    Please give it to us!

    Dear Sega,

I've played Virtua Fighter ever since the first game was released into arcades. I loved it so much, moreso than Street Fighter II, Samurai Shodown, Killer Instinct, or Mortal Kombat, all which were considered to be the HOTTEST fighting games around at the time, and Virtua Fighter was among those games as well. Virtua Fighter gave us a whole new dimension of fighting, and it was often imitated, every developer wanted to make a 3D fighter, but none could come close to Virtua Fighter's fluidity, and nobody did it better than Sega.

My fondest memories of Virtua Fighter was when Virtua Fighter 2 hit arcades, and blew everyone away with it's graphics. The character models looked incredible, the backgrounds were gorgeous, and the game animated extremely well at a consistent 60 fps frame rate at a high resolution with no slow down to speak of, which made for a fantastic fighting game experience.

I was about 10 years old at the time when Virtua Fighter 2 exploded into arcades, and I remember how I would beat the crap out of guys twice my age, including my babysitters boyfriend and all of his friends.

When I first got into Virtua Fighter, I liked Kage because I idolized ninja's alot, but in Virtua Fighter 2 I picked up Lion, whom I know alot of people at the time considered to be the worst character in the game, but I liked him because he had alot of simple combination's. People were usually embarrassed after losing to my Lion. (AREN'T YOU ABOUT READY TO GO HOME NOW!?)

In 1995, I finally got to experience Virtua Fighter in the peace of my own home... on the Sega 32X. My family couldn't afford a Sega Saturn at the time, but that year on my birthday I got a Sega 32X, mostly in anticipation of being able to play Virtua Fighter on it. I got the game for Christmas from my half-sister because she knew I loved fighters, and I was in fighting bliss for months playing my sister and cousins at the game, even if it was inferior to the arcade version, the gameplay was still there, which was most important. I also picked up Virtua Fighter 2 for the Sega Genesis, which was heavily stripped down being a 2D fighter and didn't have Lion or Shun, but it was somewhat playable to an extent, although still a disappointment.

I did eventually get a Sega Saturn, and I thoroughly enjoyed Virtua Fighter Remix and Virtua Fighter 2 on the system. I also had a home computer at the time too, which I had a copy of Virtua Fighter 2 for, and it was practically arcade perfect, if not even better than the arcade release if I recall due to the graphicl options you could enable.

Then Virtua Fighter 3 hit arcades rather silently, I'd see articles and strategy guides for the game in magazines, but I did not see a Virtua Fighter 3 machine not once in any of my local arcades, as arcades were rapidly declining at the time. A console release on Sega Saturn was announced, but never happened. It would eventually see it's way to the Dreamcast, and the system ran the game beautifully. I enjoyed the newcomers, mainly Aoi, because she was so pretty and seemed like a very traditional Japanese woman fighter, and her fighting style was very graceful. It was a bit difficult though because we got the game nearly 3 years after the arcade version was released, and nearly a full year after the game hit the Dreamcast in Japan. It was a long wait. And to make matters worse, finding competition for the game on the home console was hard. I didn't get to play many people outside of my cousins and friends, a luxury you could only get at an arcade, and things like Network Battles weren't practical back then.

Thankfully the next installment, Virtua Fighter 4, we didn't have to wait long. We got the game in the USA about a few months after Japan got the game on the Playstation 2. The game, along with Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution that was released the next year, introduced some interesting new characters, my personal favorite being Lei-Fei. Sadly, as with Virtua Fighter 3, I never saw the game in American arcades, the arcade business was just completely dead, which also meant I was once again rather screwed in the competition department. Online play was just beginning to seep in at the time, it wasn't standard yet, but it was quickly making it's way through this generation of gaming with the introduction of the Xbox.

Then came Virtua Fighter 5. The best Virtua Fighter yet. I was pretty excited when I saw Eileen, she was cute and used one of the most fun fighting styles I ever saw in a fighting game - Monkey Kung Fu. I really wanted to get in on the Virtua Fighter 5 action, but I was disappointed when I found out the Playstation 3 version of the game would not have online capabilities. Then came the Xbox360 version of the game which did have online, and was superior in every way.

Since I ended up with a Playstation 3 and had no intention of getting an Xbox360, I was pretty much screwed and would never get to play the game with other people and truly improve my skills. There is no competition where I live, no gaming community, so has a fan of Virtua Fighter, I was pretty much left down and out.

Ever since Virtua Fighter 5R was announced, and I saw all the new improvements, costumes, and the newest character, along with the return of Taka-Arashi, I've wanted to give the game a shot, but that's pretty much impossible without a port of the game on a console.

I really would like to see Virtua Fighter 5R get a console release, and I'd like it very much that the PS3 and Xbox360 versions both had all the same features, including the very important online play. Fighting games have made a major comeback in 2009, now is the time to bestow Virtua Fighter 5R on consoles! February 2010 marks 3 years since Virtua Fighter 5 was released on the Playstation 3.

I would also appreciate it if Sega began producing more Virtua Sticks on the market, it has already been proven that arcade sticks are extremely popular among players that play their fighters at home as seen with MadCatz and their Street Fighter IV Tournament Edition Arcade Stick, and the Virtua Stick High Grade was among of the best high quality sticks available for its time, and has become a rarity these days.

I can still remember being in absolute awe when I walked into my local Tilt arcade all those years ago and saw the original Virtua Fighter. I was just a kid back then, but I have loved the series ever since. Virtua Fighter was the very reason why I bought a Sega Saturn! My friends in the local community definitely want to try out the newest version, but right now we can only watch videos of tournaments and hope that one day the game will be released in the U.S. Please bring VF5R to consoles so we can play!

    Dear Sega,

Recently, I really don't have much time for games because of various reasons (Job, new apartment etc').

Bring VF5R to the consoles and I will use every single moment of my free time to play it.

Virtua Fighter is deffinetly best 3D fighting game ever made. We just need VF5R on our consoles.

This game is deffinetly worth the consoles port as it's porobably the most balanced and rewarding competitive fighting game out there.

I must admit that I didn't get much into this game since it's community is slowly dying, especially here in Europe. With this console release it can be fixed. Virtua Fighter deserves more attention!

Vf in old times always was a part of console gaming saturn, dreamcast, ps2 but somehow this generation of consoles has been kinda left out dont allow this sega,, please

    Dear Sega,

It's been almost 3 years since VF5 was released on consoles, and it's definitly time to steal back the spotlight in the rest of the world. VF is a unique and beloved series, but please, VF5R is needed to keep up the community alive.

My first touch with Virtua Fighter was a late one with VF3. I became a real fan only with VF4, but even so I couldn't play it as often as I wanted until it came for the PS2. Console release is absolutely needed to reach my kind of a gamer as there simply is no arcade scene anymore. We still play VF5 on PS3 sometimes but that has died of because the lack of further support.

Please consider releasing the game on console at least in Japan so that I can import it. Thank you.

    Dear Sega,

I have been playing Virtua Fighter for 8 years now, and I still remember my first play. I couldn't describe my feelings, I was lost and amazed at the same time. Since this moment, every other fighting game seems tasteless compared to this one. Since Virtua Fighter III, I have bought my consoles functions of VF releases. Just for an example, I bought a VF5 copy before having a xbox360.
As it has been mentioned before, VF5 western community is going smaller everyday and the 2D revival isn't a great help to keep players. Nevertheless, 2D revival has shown that fighting games can still be popular, so maybe it's now the good time to release VF5R on console.

I really don't care about the price. You can sell it 100€, I will buy it !

    Hello SEGA,

I remember back when I was a kid in elementary school, my sister and I would go over our cousin's house when school let out. He had a Saturn and one of the games he had was Virtua Fighter 2. It was the first time I had played a 3D fighting game but me and my sister had so much fun on it. A while ago I bought VF5 and it's definitely one of thee best fighting games I have ever played. No cheap fireballs, no overpowered characters, just good balanced gameplay. Please SEGA, bring VF5R to consoles. We'd all appreciate it.
