Just wondering, does anyone know when the Replublican National Convention(RNC) is? I heard it was going to be held Sept. 2 in New York. Is it going to be held through Sept. 11? I imagine this is the intent. Can't wait. George Bush is the coolest.

RNC stands for Republican National Committee. The Republican National Convention is from 8/30 to 9/4. I am afraid that the protests will be crazy and the press will carry the GOP's water by exhaustively covering any violence or destruction.

In 1968 Republicans infiltrated protesting groups before the Democratic Convention and incited violence to spin the coverage and work to the benefit of the evil Nixon. I worry that something similar will happen this year.

The late date for this year's convention serves a dual purpose. It allows Bush to further pimp Sept. 11 and it allows his campaign to continue to raise money even though Kerry can't because the Democrats already had their convention.

You seem to have a lot of wild theories Sgt. Ramrod. You seem to think a lot of people are "evil. I don't know where you get this stuff about the Republicans infiltrating the 1968 DNC protests and the Washington Times being run by some chinese cult. Nixon was a crook but calling him evil is going a too far when you talk about a person who worked in the for the Goverment as long as he did. It was Nixon and Kissinger who were, after all, responsible for detente and the recognition of China. That has allowed the U.S. to invest in China and begin trading with them. I really don' think you think through what you say or maybe you just need attention and make obnoxious statements to facilitate that need.

talking of conservatives vs liberals.. one of the newspapers here in the UK ran an interview with Ann Coulter. jesus christ! she is one crazy bitch. i can't believe that she gets the time of day in civilised society! in the interview it says she's a pundit on a few topical news shows in the USA. is that true? i'm pretty shocked if it is.

And sadly shows like Hardball, Hannity and Colmes, and other news commentary shows do allow her to preach her crazy rantings on their shows(they have to be fair and balanced I guess). O'Reilly , being one of the top spin doctors of Fox news is a easy target for Al Franken. As such, they have butted heads in the past with O'Reilly publicly trying to curse him out over a photo of his face looking splotchy which adorns the cover of his newest book.

Basicly Bill O'Reilly is a mean spirited bully who will only have his (or should i say the right's) opinion displayed correctly on his show. Al Franken does a good job of pointing that out in his book.

Their fued has many facets to it . You should read the chapter on him, its really funny (not that I expect you to)

I think O'Reilly would say Al's a mean spirited and hateful man who personally attacks those who he disagrees with. O'Reilly doesn't report the news, his show is a news analysis program. So he doesn't really spin the news he just gives his opinion on it. His show is the "No Spin Zone"

Actually, not everyone thinks she's a crazy bitch. She gets paid to write books because some American conservatives like her and think that she's got a lot of good things to say. She's insane. She's said that we should kill all Arab countries leaders and forcibly convert their people to Christianity. I'm sort of surprised that Pope doesn't like her. They seem to have a lot in common.

O'Reilly is a lying bully. There's a book written about how he lies pathologically on the air. It's called The O'Really Factor He constantly spins and in fact, his show is one big fucking spin. By calling himself a moderate, he attempts to convince people that being pretty fucking conservative (with a few token "liberal" stances) is being a middle-of-the-road, real American. That's spin, and that's Rupert Murdoch's Fox News.

Franken's books are very funny. He skewers the right-wing media (and that includes O'Reilly) in his last Book- Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. The good thing about Franken's books is that he employs a handful of political researchers from Harvard to make sure that his books are very well-researched in addition to being funny. That is to say that he doesn't just say whatever pops into his head and swear to its veracity until the bitter end (like O'Reilly).

That was almost unwatchable for me. I don't like having conversations with people like him at all. I don't mind disagreements if they're civil. It's OK if you don't share my opinion. Please don't interrupt me with a bunch of vehement rhetoric just to keep people from hearing what I have to say.

It bothers me that people like O'Reilly. I think they want to be like him. He's their hero. Argh. THEY JUST WANT TO SHOUT AT PEOPLE ALL THE TIME!
