They do not just face their opponents. They face their inner demons, they struggle with themselves, they try to find just a moment of peace... and for that they have to beat the shit out of Akira, Kage and co.

So we're just going to continue speculating and not actually translate both stories huh?

A?!

Yeah, that is what I fear, unless I can find someone who can properly translate the stories.

It wouldnt hurt AM2 to have a separate group of people to do some story-related stuff. I wouldnt mind actually, and it might grab more players from those whove never played VF.

This is Jean's story (translated by me)

France, in a summer resort of Nice. Artless juveniles are enjoying their summer vacations.
"Hey Lion take a look at this!!"
Jean exhibits his Karate’s patterns that he was taught by his father, however Lion finds this behavior of his very provocative and starts bearing an obvious rivalry against Jean.
"Well, I'm going to ask my father as well to teach me the even stronger Chinese martial arts! Next week we are going to show each other our techniques! Until then we are going to have secret & intense training!".
One week has passed and the aforementioned moment came. However Jean did not show up. Lion was waiting for him impatiently, and after a while he couldn't just be standing there anymore and rushed to Jean's dwelling. However the place, where Jean used to live, was demolished.
Inside a room of J6 (the room is located in a building, in which according to rumours the assignation-squad of J6 is being trained), there is young man watching intently at a monitor. This young man is no other than Jean Kujou. The monitor shows matches from the 4th world tournament (VF4). Moreover it shows a scene where Goh is getting beaten up by Jacky's somersault-kick and eventually loses to him.
"What a pitiable disgrace you are, monsieur Hinogami! Thanks to you my time has come!". Jean muttered these words and left the room.
In the grounds of the 5th world tournament, Jean is watching intently the preliminary matches. While he was focusing on his objectives, in other words the fighters that must be assassinated, his gaze stumbles across a young man, practitioner of Chinese martial arts, who happens to be in the same age with himself. "Praying Mantis Kung-Fu?... It doesn't really matter who he is....I am going to drive him to despair!".
Jean mutterd these words silently, and with his eyes flashing with self-confidence (perhaps because of J6's brainwash that he had suffered) he enters the tournament.

By the way isn't Jean's voice reminding of Raiden's voice from Japanese MGS2 & MGS4?
I suspect Jean's VA is Horiuchi Ken'yuu (the voice actor of Raiden), but who knows?....

Okay, with that costume, my guess is MGS fans will customize Jean to appear as Raiden. What a fruitcake during his debut.

@TaC-That's Jean's Costume E? I think it looks pretty cool, and I actually liked Raiden in MGS2...except where you had to run around naked with the guy.

Plus, he's a total bad-ass cyborg for the most part in MGS4!...Who am I kidding, nobody likes Raiden, but I still think the guy was interesting(Mainly because of the katana).

Also, thanks Tsobanian for the full translation of Jean's profile! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

It seems that AM2 actually put alot of thought into his story, it's so unlike them to get this detailed. lol

There may actually be hope for a story mode in the console release of R?...You never know...

Wow, that's odd. Jean DOES look like Raiden in that costume. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif

Are you people blind? The only similarities I see are the hair colour. I think Kage's Cos E has more in common with MGS than anything else in VF5.

Jean's Cos E might not look great (cosplay gone too far), but maybe when it's combined or customised further it might have some redeeming qualities. I'm not holding my breath though.

Jean Kujo or Jean Cojo? YOU decide.

I liked Raiden in MGS but it's like Myke said, cosplay is going to far. I've hoped he becomes something traditional, like costume E of Goh or Akira.

Quick question, Is ther a place where I can see all of the E costumes?

Yes. Just go to HKVF and go to Items and scroll down the item list(By the way, it's in Japanese) and look below the items with the letters A, B, C, and D and click on it, and there's the character's costume E(P5 costume). Hope it helps. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

I figured Jeans E costume was more of a I'm being experimented on by J6 and just
busted out of my mineral tank kind of thing.....maybe I'm being too creative.
