Is stomping ok after a match?

    OK

So obviously some people interpret dancing and stomping as disrespectful behaviour (I do) and some others don't.

I will try to be more aware of people who do it for fun and not to be annoying, but at the same time you guys should keep in mind others may get annoyed.

Of course it would help immensely to talk and send messages to enforce the good spirit of friendly competition...

And once again, I was in London with Feck, Ash, MonkeyPunch, Seidon, we went to ZeroEX house and met lots of people and played lots of games, those people can confirm that I am not "yearning respect so bad that I take everything the wrong way" and "take this shit so seriusly and take fun out of everything".

One thing that strikes me, at that meeting in London there were about 30 players from all over the UK, and I barely saw any stomping and dancing. I might be wrong, maybe I need new glasses or my memory is fucked, but it looked to me that everybody was consciuos that that stuff is disrespectful.

Why is it dancing and stomping? You're putting two completely different things together.

btw I like to train moves after KO to train a bit and keep my inputs hots, so I often knee/dlc etc...
Is this considered as an offense too? -_-

I don't consider that offensive, I do that myself it's just the pouncing that gets my goat.

I just don't know. Honestly, most people on here I don't see pouncing, cuz really that's just boring and unoriginal. It's all the dancing around that just seems funny to me. And you mentioned feck was at Zero's house. Maybe he didn't do anything then, but feck is comedy gold post KO. haha, that guy can do some funny stuff to you, but what's really the problem with that? So what if I have my akira tuning up sweet chin music for no reason, or make my kage look like he's having a seizure for kicks and giggles. I was playing Godeater last night, and everytime he won, he would just forward dash over and over and I was weak. I had tears coming out because I couldn't stop laughing. One because he was beating my ass so bad, and two because I had just read all this and then he did it. I realize the guy is just having fun like I am and we should all know that we're all good players and we have respect for each other so this is childish mess. The only real complaint should be if someone sends you dumb messages calling you a scrub, or just straight tells you they have no respect for you, but for dancing...nah. I could stand still while you're crumbling over and someone will get offended cuz I didn't knock the dude out of his misery, so I just don't see the reason to let such little stuff get to you. Like I've said before, it's just a game..and it's not really that serious.

    This is stupid, really stupid...

I mostly play only offline and after KO's I go for weird juggles or pounce the opponent with some ground scraping move (such as Sarah's dragon cannon).
If I end up BT I do some BT stuff like repeated u+K+G or ub+K with Lau. I jump over opponents. I dance with Lei sometimes.
Sometimes I do LDA though it's mostly by accident since it's boring. Sometimes I try doing u+P without it hitting as round changes.
I sometimes go for stagger throws after KO because they knock down in a funny way. Sometimes I OM all over the place. Sometimes I do repeated inputs (DbPm).
In fact the only reason I don't play Shun is because then I couldn't bodyslash anymore.

And you know what? I do this almost each and every round I win. Whether on a winning or losing streak, no matter what the level of opponent.
And no ones killed me yet. In fact it doesn't seem to bother anyone at all.

Why? Well, I'd guess it's because we all concentrate on what's actually important and that's the matches themselves. Not what happens after them.
Seriously, stop making issues out of where there aren't any and stop making yourself some built-in rules of what your not allowed to do in a game where it's possible to do so.

    Peace.

haha, that was YOU!? dude, I laughed my ass off when you started doing it to me back. haha. Why were you using a different account?

Haha, yeah that was me. my live had expired on my UKDiddy account, so I made the moonwalker1213 until I could get my UKDiddy back on live. I got it back last night, so I won't be using the moonwalker1213 one anymore, but it was pretty funny. I knew you were gonna beat me down, cuz I can't do anything with lau yet, but it was a good laugh. Heh, and yeah I tried to do it back just to make you laugh, but I could barely get a win off you. You were DESTROYING ME WITH NO MERCY!! Haha, good stuff man.

    My two cents:

When VF2 came out it was the coolest thing to see Jacky kick someone on the ground. Then the respect thing came about which I can understand. Because of this I try to be creative.

Once in awhile I will pounce after KO but I do it so far away that it misses them (on purpose). This has some skill involved too because Shun's pounce goes soooo damn far.

Another skill factor can be pouncing late so that while you're in the air the game goes into replay mode.

What does everyone think? If the pounce doesn't hit is it disrespectful? Or how about pouncing on someone who is rung out? And who doesn't love to pounce into the water or into the bottomless abyss!!??

I love what FeauchA showed me one day. I can't believe I had never seen it before - running into the edge of the ring if the opponent has been rung out. =)

I will occasionally ground punch with Pai just because I think that's hillarious in that it's possible (silly bint). I do jump out of the ring as well for two reasons: a) I started doing it as a means of thinking about my orientation in the ring...after a bit it was natural to always use OM to position myself where I needed to be no matter the situation B)I love the way they freeze in mid-animation once they are past that point of no return. looks hillarious.

If I ring out an opponent over a low wall I usually just run at it because it makes me laugh to see them book it and not go anywhere.

Adnan always does a running attack with Jeff after ringing me out, I find that funny as hell (I also appreciate the insane number of options he exercises to get me out of the ring...nothing is safe).

Personally, I think the game is what people bring into it. If they feel insecure or unable to gain the respect of their opponent (ie. make them play the game they want to play) they get upset easily and it won't matter much what the opponent does post KO, they'll feel badly about it. They may only voice certain things online because it seems less daft that way but I think if they are investing emotionally in what the opponent can do after the round is finished then it won't much matter what is done.

The only thing I dislike is when an opponent makes me watch their replay. but if that happens I usually just make them watch mine and it gives me time to take a sip of water or think about what I'm doing wrong. Really I dislike it because I hate that Sega doesn't allow you to cancel your own taunt - I find that an oversight since and it takes up seconds I could be easily be putting into the next round. So when the opponent watches their round it's just compounding Sega's stupid decision to force the taunts on everyone. I actually miss having slow mo replays! Remember in VF2 when you could slow mo and your opp had to watch you put the last hurt on them. funny and annoying at the same time.

Kbcat: here, I'll push all the buttons and slow mo my SPoD.
    GodEater: Dude.

Actually, I think I might pick up a mic this weekend because as much as I detest players who just jabber on and ON AND ON I really do miss talking with the person I'm trading wins with.

Don't worry Matt, your memory isn't fucked there was barely any post round shenanigans.

The games we had at London though I was stomping during the matches, wtf was all that about?! I never use heavy/light pounce during a match.

Also, I have a really good idea for the nest installment of VF. I know they disabled post KO attacks with light/heavy pounce in R but what if in VF6 or whatever as soon as a KO occurs it skips straight to a cutscene?

Like you KO someone and it instantly goes to a cutscene where you walk over and pick your opponent up, make sure they are ok, pat them on the back all that stuff. Maybe Sega could even make it so you customise the ways you help your opponent back up! I think this would be awesome.

Come play me in some COD 4/5. You can watch some super replays of me blowing your head off, again & again & again.

Yo! Where you been man? Do you still play VF?!

Hmm, don't worry you're not alone in this. Crappy_Friend always makes people watch his super replays if he wins a round which is a very rare occurrence so let him enjoy it. XD /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

I still play VF. I have not played VF for a while though. VF is very complicated and I never really followed the series since VF2. Feels like I have to understand each charecter in order to be any good at the game; that would take alot of time. There is just too many moves; throw in ETG and moves that have special properties, it is enough to make your head spin. I think I am going to start playing VF on live again soon.

Oh yeah the lag, I am so green to the game that even if I did something technically right I would not even realize it because there is the lag factor that I don't even understand.

Ha ha ha, prolly true. I am a sheep in FPS world. At least I am an aggressive sheep who runs headlong time and again to his death. If you have a rocket launcher and I am unarmed, I will beat you to death, or die trying.

I found out I love to disrespect my opponents when I beat them down.

My favorite ways of pissing people off is to abuse Shun 2k and 1KK, I love to do them all the time, then once the opponent is dead I love stomping their NOOBbish char over and over. NOOBS should stay away from this game!!!!!!

Of course if I am losing, I just pull on them. No way I am going to lose to some scrub.
