When the gods have favored me with victory I do the Happy Friend hop over the vanquished to show respect - not just respect for the PWNed but for the very institution of PWNage.

y0 Feck I really agree with you on this, Sega obviously wanted us to stomp like crazy post KO. Better float's off some moves and can do sillier combos, can even sober that damn shun with stomping power!

Biggest lie ever Seidon, everybody knows you never get wins... and you're up there with Fulan for the highest amount of post KO stomping /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

This has got to be the most retarded topic ever...

Please take a look at VF vids on youtube, casual and turnament matches, where you can see that very good players don't stomp each other after the round is over... for example:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8LP1i1Uspqc

If any of you teabagging scrubs ever gets to that level, then you might be entitled to stomp. Until then you better respect your opponent...

From now on I am going to stomp after every single round I win.

I quite agree, it is a retarded topic. The amount of people that bring their own insecurities and cry baby attitude to this game is unreal. grow up.

I almost never stomp post round unless the opponent does it first in which case, "it is on" and I stomp all over the place. in fact I make it my mission to win every round so that I can keep doing it. Other than that I'll only stomp a) from reflex or b) because I know the opponent will actually get worked up and alter their opening gambit accordingly. I find it hilarious that one stomp can take people so far off their game that you can make them yours for the next round as they try desperately to "get you back".

I love the idea of entitlement though, that's cute.

Godeater what do you mean by entitlement?

Sorry English is not my first language, and it came across as you if were trying to say that you find it cute that I say that you have to be good enough to stomp a champion, because of course I know you can stomp a newbie, but what's the fun in stomping a newbie? They are called newbie for a reason...

I try not to stomp after the match, but I will try to KO someone a certain way to either do a character specific thing or try to create some sort of psychological effect.

For example with Akira if you KO someone with the last hit of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif//forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif you can do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to make the person stand back up after getting knocked down. This was something I just randomly did one day and now I just like doing it from time to time.

Another example is to KO someone with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif while using Kage just to do his dragon punch combo in hopes of creating some sort of pychological effect like "oh he can do that? I gotta be careful not to get hit by that".

But then there are situation where you have to KO someone, well just Shun to beat him up after the KO to take drinks away.

I don't know why people complain about this as I find someone walking away from my downed body or jumping out the ring a little more disrespectful. It's like saying to your dead KO'ed ass "you are not worth my time so I'm going to leave the ring" just as they jump out, or backing up away from you as saying "meh I can KO your sorry ass anytime I want". Personally I'd rather they jump on me all day as this will just fuel me to want to kick their asses more in the next round. In the end I understand that people are just having fun just like I am having fun doing my stuff so eventually I just block it all out anyway. Like GE said... GROW UP! It's not like they are kicking your mom.

Really? I can't believe that bothers you...I never even though about it...

Anyway, I just press start as quick as I can because I want to play more, or drink with Shun.

Please guys show me a good match where you stomped your opponent...somebody you respected as well.

I stomp at the end of rounds from time to time but that's when I mess up buffered double palm -_-
So I guess some dudes take that as an offense

When someone disrespects me at the end of the round by pouncing it pisses me off which makes me play better, although I do my fair share of pouncing on noobs but NEVER on fellow vfdcer's.

If I gets extra hits in after the round is over I never hate the other person or disrespect them, I do it because I can because I won. If you hate me for it return the favor I don't care either way because I deserved it for losing. In battle anything goes one should always remember this.

I don't like it when people jump back adn forth over me after i'm dead (hear that cozby, lol). And i don't like it when peeps stomp, but if its a good player doesn't really bother me. its teh sorry peeps who occasionally win a round (after you've beat them 10) and they start jumping on you.

But all in all, do whatever you want, i shouldn't have lost.
Maybe it annoys some people when i stance dance after victory, if so sorry.

The only thing I don't understand is why people stomp with light/heavy down attacks, it doesn't bother me but I really don't get the purpose of it.

I think the main reason I don't understand it is cause i've only ever had people do it to me when they can't get wins, you can see them realy struggling every round but on the rare chance they do get a round they stomp you like crazy.

These kind of people always claim they are doing it for fun but I don't get that, the game is fun enough without doing that and I don't see how that makes it more fun. Also they would probably be better of concentrating on actually playing the game, feels weird when you go 20 matches with them and they stomp the shit out of you with pounces on the flukey 2 rounds they win.

I do Kage's heavy pounce in the end of rounds sometimes because I just want to see it again, since I don't have use for it during matches /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Some people seem to think that it is important to do them to reinforce their wins I guess. There are other ways to taunt people as well to do this as well like the lei fei dance, or pai doing her /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif move over and over in a way to taunt them. If I get taunted alot I just feel I should focus on the fight better so I don't get taunted or stomped as much. It can function as a good thing in this way so to speak.

After reading a lot of posts about the subject (thanks guys), I've concluded that this comes down to an issue of interpretation.

There are those that think certain actions are being used by their opponent post-round as an insult or taunt. For instance, stance-dancing. Some people think that a stance-dance is a way for you to insult your opponent after they've been KO'ed. But for others, stance-dancing is a way to keep themselves sharp on their imputs, or its just something to do during those 4 seconds after the round.

And apparently, this can be applied to nearly any action in VF. Jumping, combos, light ground attacks, self ring-outs, ect. So if you're concerned that you might be offending someone, the only safe option is to do nothing at all. If you're not concerned about it, do whatever you want.

I have to start teaching myself to lay off the stick after a round. I would like to state though that if I do something after a round, I mean no disrespect by it. I can't think of a post round action I would use to try to taunt my opponent, and I can't think of a reason why I would do it.

White Worm I think some people even consider just standing there disrespectful, it's a no win situation so just do whatever you want. If your opponent ends up having a problem with it then they can say so, people have no need to be pricks over it.

It's people's perception of it that's the problem.

From now on I'm going to send a disclaimer before each match I play:

"Warning: I will stomp you when I win, it's not to assert my superiority over you or to mock you. It is simply for my own amusement in the two seconds between rounds"
