is lag an issue wen using akira online?

yes, someone posted a link here where you could test your connection and ping. And my ping went up more and more as I used different and further away servers to test my connection and ping.

 

im geting my copy in the next week, but my mbps is 2.2 would that be suficient enough to play online?????, plus anyone use tiscali?, have u had any issues with playing online using tiscali, cheers

Lag affects different games, well, differently. I expect that the netcode on some FPS might go all wonky if some HPW connects to a room full of LPBs and, therefore, I could blame the HPW for supposedly fucking up the game. However, if a connection is between only two people, well, it is what it is. Neither one or the other person makes it lag.

Being a chemist makes you a specialist, in, say, chemistry. You probably know that pouring dihydrogen monoxide in your modem will likely not improve your ping. And, since social skills are not needed so much when dealing with crucibles, it's likely your well-educated-fairly-intelligentness* = fail[/size] when it comes to constructive interpersonal dialogue.

It depends. Ping between two locations can be adversely affected by the number and quality of nodes between those locations as well as cleanliness of the lines as well as by geographical distance.

TO be constructive to the topic, I like to dabble in akira a little now and then to help my timing, but I actually find it easier to do some of his moves with a hint of lag. I figure this is a bad thing because I'll get used to the slower timing of the lag. He's however more fun to play with when offline because his speed of moves really shines.

The only place where people who never say shit to anyone in the "real" world will take ten minutes out of their day to try to dis some one they think said something dumb. When I said I was a chemist I wasn't trying to brag, I was pointing out that I don't flip burgers. I'm sure if we met we would all get along anyway seeing as you don't meet people who share your interests i.e. VF that often. I don't see the point in Plague's comment towards me, sorry I just don't.

That's what I was doing, I never wrote anything to plague, he just wanted to flame me cause he has clout in this forum, I wasn't trying to be a dick and I'm not gonna call anyone a fag. I'm just pissed that he wrote an ESSAY trying to make me look stupid...

 

You have to admit that that post was overkill... That must have took thought and effort to write and I think it's pointless, that's all. I don't play Akira (very well), but I do not think that latency is such a huge deal for Akira incomparison to everybody else. It seems to me like the biggest dificulty would be in hit detection and fuzzy wuzzy and evades, but this isn't so much different for him...

I think that Akira is hard to use and so the US Akiras maybe are not as powerful. I think the only one I have a losing record against is Konjou. He is just real hard to play well. That's my semi-informed opinion anyway.
