28 here. Dreading 30 like the plague, and i'm not entirely sure why.

Maybe it's flashbacks from that "Thiry-Something" show... *shudder*

22 years old here. And i actually like it that there are a lot of older gents playing the game than I. VF has been around for so long that even though your younger and possibly better at the game you still respect your elders. Kind of reminds me of good old tradition =). It makes you feel kind of special! For both sides =).

Hitting 28 in two months, I could have sworn I was 16 a blink of an eye ago.

The good thing about this community is the fact that the majority of the people are older, more mature, and more experienced. The annoying immature members are found out pretty fast and are quickly put in their place. Most usually take the hint.

I'll take a forum of this caliber any day of the week compared to some of the drivel that gets spammed around in other ones.

You don't really need to know, and it's not like it really matters, if you want to know just give a really good reason, or try PM'ing me.

Do you honestly think I want to post info about myself for others to see? No. It is easier to tell the person who wants the info, not those who don't need it, not that I am convinced you need it at all anyways.

Don't be so paranoid. If you haven't realised by now it's not an age thing, it's an attitude thing.

Do you mean that age dictates attitude, or are you referring to me specifically?......

I'm just saying, I sincerely do not believe anyone will judge based on age alone, unfortunately it's your historical attitude that has ruffled a few feathers. It's good that you stick to your opinions, but it's also ok to admit when you're wrong. Every single one of us here makes mistakes ..... whether it's at school, at work or at VFDC.

edit: ps .. Age certainly does not dictate attitude. Maturity however does play a big part IMO. And no, unfortunately age doesn't dictate maturity either... it's all down to the individual.

Of course we all make mistakes, we are human.

Not to get off on a rant, but if I make a mistake, it becomes at least 10x worse than if anyone else were to have made the same mistake, take a look at the Sega AM2 media thread now, no mistakes what so ever, yet people here are still doing the usual flame wars. It had NOTHING to do with my attitude at all, another poster made a flame at me, to which is responded without flaming him back, and then the whole thing turned into this big huge immature free for all, which will hopefully end with's Summah's last post (hopefully).

Oh, and about sticking to my "opinions," it is a FACT that OPINIONS can NEVER be WRONG, so of course I can stick to them whenever.

Like I could say that Akira is too overpowered IN MY OPINION, but another poster could say: " no, you are wrong.."

Neither of us is right, not wrong, because these are still only opinions.

    - - - -

"...I sincerely do not believe anyone will judge based on age alone,unfortunately..."

On IRC some users that post here were laughing at some of the users here because of their age, ages like 12 and 8 for example, so not everyone abides by this code on VFDC.

Well I'll agree that you do get a lot of crap for a mistake, but have you wondered why that is though? How is it other people don't get chastised for their mistakes? If you feel you are being unduly victimised, perhaps you should try registering a new nick. And here's where the 'attitude' thing kicks in, if you regged a new nick and came off the exact same way you have been the last two months, don't be surprised to find yourself in this same exact spot.

As for the age thing, well I don't visit IRC so if that's really happening I don't know. But those members you refer to certainly wouldn't post that kind of crap here, the community will bite em in the ass. In the time I've spent here I haven't seen people getting put down because of low post count/forum rankings, age etc. I have witnessed a lot of 'new members with poor attitudes' getting put in their place.

Yeah, but I have seen users with perfectly good attitudes, or one's who don't have the sense to know they are violating the TOS getting flamed by the older posters here.

that's just more of Empnova spouting off on things he has no comprehension of. Pay no heed to whatever he says and all your days will be green and fun-filled.

It still happened, plain and simple.

PS: This is what I am talking about, no mistakes, yet people are trying to be "high and mighty" before me.

What I saw on IRC is nothing for you to confirm GE, get a grip and wake up, do you know what happened, obviously not, as you have to no facts at all to back it up, and if you do, why don't you post them?

GE don't speak for me and try to deny me, unless of course you are being factual and accurate, which you were not. Consider this, I know more about what I saw, than you do, unlesss you see as I do, what the fuck are you trying to prove?

Emp I don't know exactly why I wanted to know your age. I guess I figured I could cut you some more slack if you were a pre-teen who hadn't realized that the universe didn't revolve around yourself. But it the end you are right it doesn't matter at all how old you are, you still have to take responsibility for the things you say and do. On a tangent I guess I was trying to see if my estimate of your emotional/intellectual maturity jived with your biological age.

Dude, how the fuck is a first time poster supposed to know not to create topics like these if they don't go directly to this link from Junky's Jungle?

You can see some of the most respected posters here who have made mistakes about the TOS here, but eventually we learn from the mistakes and life moves on. Can you honestly expect someone who has just joined the boards to memorize the TOS? NO

My how quick we are to degenerate when the going gets tough. You throroughly deserve the flaming you get.

And no , I don't expect anyone to memorise the TOS all you have to do is read it once. And as for all your hooplah about mistakes and what not, I've never seen you once apologise for the disinformation you normally spread.
