I don't think there will be a controller shortage, if that's your ultimate concern. I'd be suprised if you were relegated to using a pad.

As for Saturday...it's uncertain for me. I just found out that a good friend of mine said they might be coming in from Victorville this weekend.

It's angering me how stuff seems to come up "all of a sudden". I wish they knew for sure instead this "maybe" crap. But if they don't show up, I'd definitely be down for the meet. I should know by Saturday

    [/ QUOTE ]

Don't put up with the "maybe" crap. If you want to play VF, do it. If your friend arrives in LA to find that you're gone because he/she didn't commit a date and time, there might not be any "maybes" next time around. This isn't cruel or selfish, it's just fair.

True that. It's just that they're supposed to be here by tomorrow morning. I will go if they aren't here by mid afternoon.

In the meantime, can I get an address and a phone # where I can reach you? Chances are I won't get to a computer tomorrow, so I'd rather have a phone number so I can let you know if I'm coming or not.

And is it really going to start at 7:30? The other guys know that I prefer to show up early and leave early.

    Pm me with the particulars.

I just want to remind everyone that does have joysticks, BRING THEM. We got a plethora of new people, and in recent meets we've had some equipment shortage.

I think our group can bring in 2 ps2, tv and 2 joysticks. So that leaves a spare PS2 short a pair of sticks. Talis pm me, address/contact info. I got a new phone and i cant remember which contact info was which. . . its been a while.

I second this. Please bring anything in the way of setups (TVs, PS2s, game discs, joysticks, SURGE PROTECTORS/POWER STRIPS) that you can. I realize it may be a pain in the ass to pack a TV with you, and it may not be used. But if we end up needing it, all the better that it's in your car outside than back at your place.

More setups = more VF for everyone.

I've sent PMs to all who requested info. Catherine and I are stepping out to see a couple of movies (so I won't take phone calls, but I will get messages). I imagine we'll be back by 5pm. I'll check for additional directions requests as soon as I get home.

    See you all toight,

    Talis

Just letting you know that I and a subset of TEAM PANDEMIC will be coming along tonight: there's me, Austin (Akira), Forrester (Pai) and possibly Jimmy (Lion/Wolf). In total, TP has eight fairly regular players. We're still planning a weeknight meet in Westwood that all eight will be able to attend (just waiting for Jimmy's brother to go home =] ).

We'll be leaving Westwood around 7:30pm, so will probably arrive around 8:30pm.

We'll bring at least one PS2, two or three sticks, a couple of game disks, and (maybe) a TV. Should be able to rustle up a power strip or two as well!

    See you tonight.

    grib.

Heh, that was fun thx Plague. It was col that Austin (Akira) and Forrester (Pai/Shun) got to see a level of VF beyond me (now Vanessa).

I was actually quite pleased with my Vanessa, even though I got repeatedly whipped by numerous opponents. I had fun, and didn't feel completely weak. Some V on V with Andy was particularly cool (plus I learned a new combo!).

Looking forward to next time now... got several more players who are interested in facing some new opponents.

SOCAL alive and well: Saturday the 4th

    Great night/morning!

We wrapped up at around 7:00 am today. We had five setups running strong last night. Big thanks to Cameron and Alex for bringing televisions along with everything else.

It was great to meet Eric, Ken, Forrester, and Austin last night.

I appreciate that everyone made the trip out here. It's been a while since we hosted and it was really enjoyable to have you all over.

    Thank you,

    Talis

P.S. One of you left a black jacket here (not sure who). It's no problem for me to ship it to you. PM me with your address and I'll take care of it promptly..

I think it would be a good idea to start arranging some transportation carpooling for the tournament coming this weekend.

I might ride solo though, because I have other plans in sandiego that i need to take care of. Just an idea to throw out though ahead of time.

WTF!!!!! Plague and Cath your not going... DAMMIT. That's dissapointing. I cancelled a possible GREAT time with someone to go. DAMMIT AGAIN. Ok so what is everyone else's plan. Alex is golden, but what about Bryan, Sean, Hat, Andy, Joey or anyone else...whats the plan. I rather not drive by myself...car is having some problems. Anyways let me know.
