with regards to having t wait at AI, I've made a new rule for myself that if I go through everyone waiting to play once with a streak, that's enough for me, and I'm gonna let someone else play. There's just too many of us, and we're all pretty much evenly matched within a small margin.

At this point, I don't have anything to prove anymore. I just wanna have fun playing mind games with my friends inside the game. VF is so well balanced, no one's really gonna shut everyone out all the time, or get some huge lead on everyone, not when it's the same group of people playing over and over for years.

People do take things at AI too seriously, me included. The whole card thing combined with the wait... But in reality, seems like people get more pumped up about wild, flash or funny play than how many wins someone has. I've actually never seen people really impressed by win streaks, usually bums people out actually. But something new like DRE's SPoD mania gets everyone excited /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thank you Bryan and everyone else in our group for putting up with me anyway. It means a lot to me. SoCal VF is comprised of people I genuinely enjoy. Not something I take lightly.

I for one dont mind how people play right now. Sure i give a big WTF !!!! /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif once in a while, but nothing against the playstyle. I do enjoy the variety of playstyles that are outthere in socal right now, and do not believe anyone should follow anyones idealized playstyle. It would be a shame for a socal player to lose because he/she isnt accustomed to, lets say for example, extreme machi. Just like character variety, i feel that playstyle variety only adds more depth to socal.

Suggestion, since socal is beefing up - tournaments? AI cup 2.0?

Yea, I think we should translate all this new enthusiasm into a monthly tournament. It doesn't even have to include prizes or anything, though that would be interesting. It would be nice to have something bigger to look foward to, and it might keep people practicing and interested in the game.

Then you can have a time for serious play, while keeping things fun on Thursdays.

Sounds like fun, I could really use the practice too. The tourneys would also give me great excuse to own boston every month.
