I'm gonna be taking a trip out to L.A. next week. Since stepping into A.I. for a little VF is on the top of my itinerary, I have a few questions:

1. I heard that A.I. has VF.net, is this true? If so...

2. What do I need to do in order to get a card or two and set up an account?

Thursday night seems like the night that everyone meets up. Not like I can go , but everyone else should be there

Ai does have the VF card setup , but you cannot access VFNET. Im not sure but AI might have some cards for sale, but you can only update your stats, which in itself can be fun because you can at least rank up.

If you can manage it, try to make it to A.I. on Thursday night. It's a good night to run into SoCal VFers. Other days work, too, though. Post the day you plan to visit A.I.

Yeah, I've been keeping up with the posts on here and made sure that I booked my flight so I could be around Thurs. night. I don't know how many other days I'll stop in yet though. First time off of the east coast so got things to do while I'm around.

Catherine and I plan to go to AI next Thursday (not tomorrow).

Yeah, I'll be in from the 29th to the 6th. I'll stop into A.I. twice or maybe more. Couple more questions:

1. How much is FT per play?

2. Does the ability to use cards stirctly entail keeping win/loss records, or can I at least switch between A/B move variants?

due to some crazy county lines dispute AI now closes at 10pm on weekdays, hopefully there will be a law reversal for that district.

Cards keep track of win/loss and ranks up to 10th dan and color changes at 5th kyu and 1st dan. You can not choose between A/B moves.

FT at AI is two tokens per play. It's a good deal. $5 gets you 24 tokens, $10 = 48, $20 = 100.


/versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif This 10pm thing PhoenixDth just posted about sounds horrible. It must have been put into place within the last week. To circumvent it, I have no problem getting to AI by 7pm any particular night so I can get in three hours of VF before they close. Hopefully the 10 pm thing doesn't apply to Friday nights. What a bunch of shit.

just to update you guys about the situation with closing hours at ai, it comes from half of the plaza being in LA county and the other half in city of industry. The businesses on the LA county side (noodle hut->AI) are on a conditional use permit so they're required to close by 10pm. But it seems like they can get away with closing at 11pm but no later. This past week zoning enforcement came back and sent letters to all the tenants that they had noticed closing after midnight. The letters stated that if they were caught violating the hours again they would have to go to court pay a fine and possible jail time. As for friday and weekend ai would be closing around 1am so its not all bad news. The owner at ai actually wants to close past 1am since most of their weekday business actually comes from 11pm-1am heh. Right now the landlord is trying to get the permits changed or perhaps change the zoning lines so they would be in city of industry which doesn't have limits on business hours. But i think the main reason isn't for the sake of the current tenants but because its affecting his appeal to new tenants for the new shops/restaurants next to ai where 99ranch used to be. The rent for diamond plaza is actually the highest in that area because that plaza attracts all the late night ppl since it has a reputation for being open past 1-2am. But with the new business hours for weekdays its turning many of the potential tenants away. I don't think this issue is gona be resolved anytime soon so I suggest either meeting earlier on weekdays or moving them to the weekend.

But onto better things; I would totally be down for a Sunday July 3rd meeting. Hopefully I get a morning shif at workt, so I can head over there early. But even if I don't, we close at 8pm on Sunday, so I'd still have time to play.
