ok my ps2 finally called it quits,
if anyone can bring me a box that i can ship a PS2 in tonight so that i can ship it out for repairs tommorow would be much appreciated.

ill still be bringing in a tv and joysticks as usual.

Just wanted to say I had an awesome time. Fun playing everyone there. Boston people were sick, really strong players. Playing Spotlite was fun as hell. Also enjoyed getting continuously wooped on by Alex and Andy. Willie had the strong Aoi shit going, and Brian's Wolf royaly owned me as well. Sorry if I forgot everyone's names, but you all were playing really well. It was good times.

Much thanks to Talis for opening his house for these events, and beating me up with Akira. Really looking forward to the next one.

LET'S FIGHT AGAIN!

<font color="yellow">LET'S FIGHT AGAIN!</font> It's time to play at Plague's house! Prepare for Evo2k4 by battling with the best SoCal has to offer.

<font color="orange">This time it's a double elimination tournament at midnight!</font>

Thanks to excellent suggestions of <font color="white">LPC73</font> and <font color="white">Andy</font> - it's time for serious preparation. Bring all your skills with you. Tournament seeding based on number of wins at the last tournament qualifiers and results. New entrants fill out the remaining spaces by random draw. Your wins will be recorded for the next event. Top seeds always get the bye.

Tournament will be held on the main TV. Other setups (as many as we can have) will be for open play. From the opening rounds to the finals, each match-up will be 3 out of 5 fights, best 2 out of 3 games - winner's and loser's brackets. This is a longer format than usual, but it's a great way to build stamina under pressure.

This is less than two weeks away. Evo2k4 is less than 3 weeks away. Train hard so you can represent SoCal with pride and conviction.

Visitors from outside of SoCal are welcome to attend. I think it's definitely worth the effort.

Will you hit traffic? Oh, yeah. Lots of it. Don't let that sway you! You're getting ready for a big ass tournament that brings tons of skilled players. This trip is worth every minute of it.

What we provide: Three TVs, US PS2 with Evo, Japanese PS2 with Evo, two evo sticks, two ASCII sticks, air conditioning, fridge full of soda, couple or three bags of chips, places to sit, room for five or six (maybe seven?) VF setups.

What you all need to bring: Biggest TVs you can come up with and fit in your car (remember, it's better to have too many), POWER STRIPS, your PS2s, your sticks, and your evo discs.

What about food? Everyone usually chips in for food. Lots of fast food in the area. Good sit-down restaurants, too.

Who's gonna be there? Well, in the past we've had some of the best that Southern California, the West Coast, the East Coast, and the world has to offer - any one of them could make a return visit: <font color="white">Spotlite, Andy, Myke, Joey (Betabow), Shou, Dobi, IronJUNKIE, LPC73, Team Tokyo Mafia (PhoenixDth, Sean, GoatCheeseBlues), Ken_I, Catherine, SillyWilly, KTallguy, Type Tenchi, Banes, Mindscan, Whoa_its_Eric, Mike90210, vf4akira, Gribbly and Team Pandemic (Austin, Forrester, Jimmy), sgtsmurf, Joon, Weslyzm, Rikyu, Adam, Amir, Chris, Chris II, Adrian, Peter, Mike, Jake, Harlock,</font> and many more!

Sometimes 17 people at once with five set ups running!

Maybe this time we'll get six setups going! Maybe even seven!

What's gonna happen? Lots of VF4Evo. Big ass tournament.

Please post your intent to show up right here on this thread - makes it more exciting for all the fence sitters out there - and it's easier for us to plan the beverage purchase.

well that date for me and i think some sandiego people is for comic con - so a no show for me

thanks to bryan on the soldering workshop, i think my blue stick is working fairly well, still need a running copy of evo to put it through a real test though.

As usual Talis held another great gathering with an awsome outcome. I'm always glad to attend and meet people from all over to play a game we all enjoy. Im glad I had the chance to get a few games in with everyone there , everytime I go I learn a lot and meet so many new and cool people.

Now another one! It boggles the mind! However, I feel do to prior engagements I may not be able to make it *sigh* so many things going on in July. Comic-Con is upon us again and I am compelled to go. I will still practice up though, maybe with a little luck I might be able to make it there but just a little late ... hopefully /versus/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Andy - I forgot to get revenge for the last tourney, I never played your Pai /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif I seek vengence.

Willy - Im fine tuning my special weapon ... poke's are upon you.

Ticky - Hope you still read the boards , let me know if your gonna make it to Evo. Goh represent /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Spotlight - I played everyone except you , thats not cool. I need practice against a crazy Akira. Also, if you want I'll try and bring Super Street Fighter 2. Lets see some Jab+throw Zangief.

Alex - Hit me or Kenan up when your down in SD , maybe we can get some pre/post comic-con VF going.

Adam - Crazy iron chef lau, crazy flying punch. Hilarious playing you. I'll find a way through that punch you'll see.

wanted to say thanks again to talis for hosting. my little bro and i had a lot fun. he was a little more comfortable this time around, and was able to play more. i hope it wasn't an inconvience to anyone there that he had to play on a gamepad. he's trying to play on a stick at home, but nothing seems to work out for him. i was also actually surprised to see a bunch of sd ppl there. hopefully this means i can play more ppl besides my brothers. ggs everyone, looking forward to seeing everyone at the next one, although maybe not the next one(because of the comic con), but the one after that. peaceout ya'll.

Good to see responses. I hope all you ComicCon attendees will decide to take a VF break on the 23rd. It would be great if you could all ride up from SD together and head back in time for the Saturday ComicCon goodness (kidnap that Mike90210 guy while you're at it). Sleep is overrated. Evo2k4 is looking more exciting all the time. The more prep we get, the better we'll do.

Also, very cool of people to be posting on the Arcade Infinity Final Tuned thread. Keep up the good work, maybe we'll see it around (or before /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif) Evo2k4.

Finally, I do appreciate the gratitude from all the get-together attendees. Makes it all the more worthwhile.

This Friday night is looking good. The Comic Con people are indicating that a VF break is a good idea and they'll make the trip to Riverside. Very cool, indeed.

Yes! Tonight we have DAVE from Japan! I am so jazzed about this. David is a longtime SoCal regular who moved to Japan some time ago. We get to see him around Evo2k time and that's about it. Very cool that he can make it tonight.
