    * * For those who don't keep up with TZ, EC5 is now just a ONE DAY EVENT on SATURDAY, APRIL 3RD. * *

I was rather surprised to not see an EC5 tournament announcement on VFDC, but since I was new to the boards and EC5 was coming up quickly, I just gave local SoCal people a heads up.

tomhilfiger's a great guy and great player but he's not exactly the best at planning things. He probably assumed that he could just post at TZ, and someone who plays both Tekken and VF would post it on VFDC for him. That's what happened with SC2, but since a lot of SC2 players are Tekken players, word got around to us a lot earlier. Anyway, I'm not trying to excuse him, but if you guys want to improve the VF scene around here, I really suggest making it out to EC5. VF's been notorious for low turnouts, and quite a few people weren't even sure whether it should have been included this year. However, instead of saying "Screw that, why should I go then?", it would probably help more if VF players made a showing and connected with some of the other 3D players.

Anyway, I'll be at EC5 for SC2, but I'm not ready to drop money on VF yet. However, some of us have just started getting into VF and wouldn't mind meeting some of the SoCal players.

    Go to EC5!

Man, the last tournament at my house was good, and there weren't even prizes involved. EC5 should be a step above. I'm still out of town this weekend, but I hope everyone else represents well.

International Players are must to use super new Japan skill set to vanquish rival. GO GO GO!

Hey new to the boards, and don't have the time to go to a tourney in K Town cuz i have work all day throughout the weekend. however i hope we can organize a meet somewhere cuz i'm just sick and tired of playing the computer, and i don't have ANY friends that play VF so yeah it'd be cool to possibly make new friends and to see how my skills stack up against real VF'ers.

    EC5 results - congratulations Andy

Congrats to Andy for the VF4Evo win at EC5. I found out about it here.

Props must also go out to the two newcomers, "??" and "??" for such an impressive showing. Taking down Spotlite and PhoenixDth is never easy. Must've been a hell of a tourney.

Shou got second, but beyond that, no one seems to know anything.

Now that EC5's over, tieTYT and I are going to break away from SC2 and play VF more. If anyone's getting together and wouldn't mind some fresh blood, please let us know. Both of us are in Irvine with not much free time to travel far, but we'll see.

Thanks again, Bryan, for running the show.

    Mindscan:

We can PM you when we next meet. What part of town do you live in?

    Nyriane:

One of our regulars, Joey, also lives in Irvine, but we rarely play at his place. Typically we play in LA (which might be a 45 to 1 hour drive for you) or Pomona/Walnut (which might be a 1/2 hour drive). Newcomers are always welcome to join.

Thanks for the update. I'm guessing that Ken (Brad) is our own Ken_I. If so, very cool performace. If not, very cool performance anyway /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Good that Bryan stepped up to run things.

    How many entered?

Thanks for the info, Andy. (Also, belated congrats.) I think my schedule will free up in the next month or so, so heading up to LA/Pomona will be do'able. Just keep us posted. ^_^

I took a few pictures of EC5, but I don't think any VF'ers are in it. Regardless, you can look here or at http://photos.yahoo.com/nyriane in the EC5 folder.

Eric, don't thank me, thank LUCK! /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think there were about 15 people in the tournament. Someone who hasn't been mentioned who also did well in the tournament (4th, I think) is Unconkable from St. Louis. Fairly new to the game, but his Brad beat some of SoCal's strongest.

Nice pictures...I hope you don't mind if I ask why you're breaking away from SC2 and playing more VF?

    Plague:
Yes, that was me with the Brad...sorry for not saying anything before, just been real busy. When's the next meet at?

    IronJUNKIE:
I believe Spotlite lost to Shou if my memory serves me correctly and I think Alex was taken out be UNCONKABLE but am not sure

    Andy:
Yeah, UNCONKABLE was pretty decent after having been playing for just 3 months or so. He did this back stagger on me that I hadn't seen before and it wasn't off a throw. I forget how to do it... /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Extra: I miss Japan... /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
