LOL, might as well, and just pronounce himself the winner due to his good sportsmanship and lack of tolerance for lag.

Look at his avatar, he takes no shit from no one. You are winner.

Hate to break this to you, but there is ALWAYS lag in the game. No, you never had a lag free game. I don't care what you say. You haven't.

Fact is, there's a good chance you have several wins you've notched simply due to lag more then anything else.

I've done Tekken tournies at CTF. And I can tell you right now, some of the best players just also happen to be some of the worst. But the answer to your question is "no".

Do you think anyone cares about your on-line record? Do you think anyone is satisfied with winning a laggy game? If I win a game thats laggy do you think I pump my fists in the air and do a dance and think that I was the better player?

No one cares about your on-line record... no one, NO ONE. So if 5 of your loses were due to lag, no one cares, honestly, no one gives a sh1t about it... so neither should you.

No way, there is never any lag. If there is lag, CiscoRey will know, and HE WILL PULL THE PLUG.

In fact, he brings up a good point, they should ban 2P in tournaments. Cause people like CiscoRey just doesn't put up with that lame ass shit.

Fluctuating ping results are nothing new to me. That doesn't make horiible lag excusable.

Holy shit CiscoRey, are you a pro rapper? It was well said and ingenious use of back to back vowels. You should put out an album.

If I lose a match due to lag I care enough to avoid playing the person who was lagging. In fact, I care so much that I'll just disconnect if lag becomes unbearable in future matches.

I don't understand why that sits so unsettling with people. To each their own, remember?

When I first started reading the cable puller thread, and now this one, I couldn't help but think to myself what a bunch of fucking cry babies.

You guys, especially new players, who pull or complain about such and such tactics, have no idea how good you have it right now. So you have to put up with some lag now and then, such is the nature of the online beast.

But pulling because of lag is chicken shit, and I bet you wouldn't be doing it if you were winning the match.

It's too bad you don't have the ability to hide your W/L record like you can in the arcade. This way, players can just play without being conscious of their record and just focus on having fun. But it's too bad that there are a lot of people out there whose egos are so massive, that maintaining a high W/L ratio takes priority over anything else, and does nothing to help the community grow or improve.

I wanted to rap when I was younger. I didn't have much patience for sitting down and writing lyrics though. So I just pulled the plug on it. lol.

I'm just surprised that you'd rather disconnect then re-connect instead of just finishing it out... its only 3 rounds.. you can even ring yourself out quicker. Seems like wasted time to me.

I was only tackling your more "reasonable" reason for pulling the plug, I wont even bother to go off on you for your view of someones strategy and how you pull the plug if you don't approve.

You know eventually these guys are gonna be weeded out. Ive already seen some's rank go down. You know now that we can see the opponents connection speed, its easier to figure out who not to play. Ive been stuck in some awfull fights, where I couldnt back dash out of a 3 low punch barrage when I saw it comming. Ive only been able to back dash-low throw once in 300 fights. These generic Akira and Lei players that bring a barrage of attacks that you cant dodge because of lag either pin you to the wall or run you out of the ring, I hate em. They dont even respond to low punch. But Im sure that they wont be around too long.

Actually it does. Lag is ever constant in this game online. We all have to live with it. My playing style online is completely devolved from my offline play, and I'm sure a lot of players feel the same. What does this mean? It means offline ranking and win/loss records are completely meaningless. They sure are fun though.

The thing is, the rest of us stomach the lag and our w/l records suffer for it, why shouldn't your w/l records reflect it as it does in ours?

Ever thought that it might not be their fault it lags? Why should they feel bad for something that is out of their control and might simply only be the case when they play certain players like you, but might not lag otherwise?

I think thats a very valid point. So much of my game is waiting to the last possible moment causing deception. We know VF is all about strict timing, and its not possible on line.

To be honest with you Myke, I don't think it's much about the W/L record. In fact, I've jumped into many matches against better players knowing that I was likely to lose. So again, I don't think it's teh case that I'm overly conscious about my record.

I think it has a great deal to do with my patience (or lack thereof) for lag in particular. Well, that and super lames. It's more of a "fuck you, find someone else to pull that shit on" than it is a "oh no... my record!"

Let's be reasonable for a second. If I were so conscious about a simple loss I wouldn't already have 300 losses.

That's a good point. But do you feel obligated to stay in a laggy match?

Cisco, I hear your intentions with this thread and I understand your frustrations. That being said, I don't think you are going to win this little argument.

For the lag pull at least your are not pulling it when you are down 2 rounds and about to lose. When the fight is serioously laggy I wish I could just message the player during the fight so we can stop but unfortunately I can't. I have found that most players don't use their headset in VF. Despite the lag I will try to fight through it and avoid the person in the future if it really bothered me. Oddly enough I think I still have a winning record in lag matches.

As for the tactics. From what I can tell from you here in the forums, you have skill have there are many players that respect you. That being said, even though it's a dull match, you know how to get around players spamming /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and certainly you can deal with it until the end of the fight and then just avoid them in the future can't you?

If I've entered the match, I feel obligated to finish it yes.

I've even forgotten to set my controller settings right and went online, to discover that the setup is wrong after the match started. Then I just jumped out of the ring and gave the opponent the win and went to set my controller settings right.

The thing is. You have probably benefitted from lag as well as suffered from it. What are we to do with your undeserved lag wins?
