    Awesome

This was a cool experience all in all. I got to meet some very cool VF players, play against some of the greats from japan, who were very friendly people (though I'm sad I didnt get to meet Minami Akira). I think it was Heruru who showed me Akira's max combo (7 hits 163dmg) and I was kinmda sitting there stunned for a while as he did it again. I was like woah. That was... awesome.

First impressions are best and I think it was Kyasao who sat down next to me and shook my hand and said pointing to himself in sort of a stereotypical happy kind of way "I am Kyasao" I answered with "I am vith. Its an Honor" . Ok I feel kinda stupid but *shrug* . Seeing CYC's Aoi, Heruru's Lei, Kyasao & Brian's Kage, Adam's Jeffery and Burun Burun's (You gotta love that name) Wolf. All of my questions about balance in this game were put to an easy rest. There was much talking of vf, game balance and many other subjects over dinner, (they were nice enough to invite little old me to the hotel for some casual play). For a first impression of the VF community this was a great start off. Adam was a great host, the tournament, (though shakey at first) turned out to be a lot of fun, with plenty of cheers shouts and upsets, and lastly but most importantly all the people were very nice and outgoing (Adam, Ohio crew, Bibilus, the UK cats, and esp. the Japanese players).

So all in all it was a great time and as Throwmaster and I put it. Everything was just "awesome". I love my VF towel lol. Much props to NYC Crew and the Jap players for all the great stuff and great memory of my first VF tourny

ps edit: If anyone knows how to do Akira's max dmg combo (e.g. saw guy doing it at the tourny in practice mode) holla at me. This means you throwmasta!

    Re: Awesome

What an awesome weekend! Frank and I had a blast, particularly Saturday night for me! Great to finally meet some other members of the VF community, and to see some familiar faces again.

Vith, that Akira combo actually did 164dmg. It was a wall combo that you told me (even though you don't remember /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) was performed by Hereru. Frank was the one who brought it to my attention, as I completely missed seeing it. He told me what moves were involved, so I'll ask him if he still remembers.

Anyway, getting to finally play some other serious VFers (besides Frank) was kickass! Props go out to my roommates akai, Dandy J (you yearn VF knowledge /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif), and KTD. Awesome matches guys; akai, thanks again and maddy, wish you could've made it. Stomp, nice to finally meet you as well; and thanks for all of the highly intense matches. We had some real slobberknockers! VirtuaPAI and Hammerhead, nice to see you guys again (thanks for teaming with us Hammer /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif) More props go out to Tim (sorry dude, I can't remember your nick on VFDC /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif), as well as Vith_Dos, DRE, Shag, smurfy (wish you could've hung around for the entire weekend), and IMF (you were a blast to play against, and had some amazing skills; as for all of the evade throw escaping... you have to stop that shit /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif)). It was awesome meeting and playing you all; I hope I didn't miss anyone. And as for SuperG, Shou, Srider, Konjou Akira, Ghostdog and a few more I may have missed; I wish I got around to hanging with, and playing VF with you guys. I guess 2 days really isn't a lot of time /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif. Oh, and you too Ghetto Shun, nice doing play by play with you during all of those awesome matches (kick cancel, kick cancel-low throw... HOLY FUCK!!!)

Adam, thanks for making this all happen; you really went all out. Some of the the high level play at the tourney was just amazing! Especially the finals! The Japanese players were very cool, polite, and funny as well. I loved watching them play; especially Burun Burun Maru. Maybe it's just because I'm a Wolf player, but it was mindboggling to watch him play. His movement was such that you couldn't even take notes; everything he did was just happening so fast! I particularly enjoyed watching him play against you and cyc; cause it was a joy to see my 3 characters go head to head at such high levels of play.

On a final note, my 2 highlights of the trip were stealing a few rounds off of Burun Burun and Hereru, and leaving KTD at the subway station, LOL!. J/k dude, that had to totally suck ass to be you for those few hrs. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Just got back to Ohio, the trip had some bumps (540 into wall = TIGHTTT) but whateva. I'M A LEVEL 10 NEW YORKER NOW!!! It was a tight ass gathering and I had fun playing everyone, no exceptions. First, I'd like to thank God for creating existence and subsequently, VF. Like to thank the NY crew, for getting this together (yall need to come out midwest way sometime) and the Japanese (I actually beat Burun Burun and CYC /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif) for bringin over the overseas tetsujin style we mostly see in videos. MANNNNN, that shaolin....... it's tricky. Heruru knows of what I speak. Mad props to Team Hydra who I didn't get to play against too much, Shou for getting BEAT (lol, j/k..... kinda), Tim for the VF 10th aniversary and another opinion of Leifei (he's gay as hell, Leifei, not Tim), Team UK with the sick Kage as always and a new interesting Jeffrey, PA for showing that someone in PA gives a damn about VF and reps it well, SuperG for doin it PAD STYLE, and to everyone who left me at the train station -_- ....... That is all except for "I have no weak point" /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

    I love vf photos

hey guys, the gathering was just awesome. I had such a great time meeting all the new people and playing everyone I got to play. I will write my full report soon, but I wanted to thank everyone who gave me time to play them even if it was just a few matches. sorry I didn't get to play everyone. I was too busy trying to be a photographer as well as trying to do sightseeing stuff with the japanese. I will write more later, but first off... a good 32 pics uploaded to my pics page of the event.

The tourney was so much fun even though I didn't win a match /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif. I wasn't able to play much but I learned alot about what I need to work on. My Lion was definitely raped /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif, especially by Konjou_Akira. SuperG and Stomp, thanks for the fun matches. PAD POWER!!!! /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Burun Burun's Wolf was insane /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif. Kyasao was such a great and funny guy. All the people who attended were so much fun to be with, a truly great community of gamers.

Kudos to Adam and the rest of the NYCrew. I only wish that I have gotten to know all of the attendees better. I'll be training hard. For those who would like to give insights/criticisms about my Lion PM me. It will be greatly appreciated.
