"It's really tempting to put myself on the attendance list already but I just do not know yet if I'll be in Europe at the time. I have to go to Thailand in March to sort out some personal matters and not sure yet when I will be back.

Problem is that I won't really know until I've bought the actual tickets, which is happening before some time in January/February.

I'm selling my flat here in Oslo late March as well. This means that money won't be any problems, but rather the timing."


Update

I am still really insecure if I will find time to attend Hypespotting. There are major problems at work and I have already set my mind on quitting and applying elsewhere. This month I'll be getting my flat ready for an open house since I have plans to have it sold by the end of March. Only at the very last minute will I probably know if I am able to show up or not. This truly sucks, because I was majorly looking forward to playing at a tourney after I've prepared to learn how to play against the likes of Lau, Blaze, Pai, Aoi etc. My former flatmate is back from living in Japan and plays with Pai and Aoi, so I've been able to practise some anti-strategies against these two characters.

I am also very sad that Krye could not make it either. Life's full of turmoils and it's hard to be able to guarantee an attendance when you are no longer studying and need to find ways to pay the bills and take care of friends and family, among others.

Worst of all, I had high hopes of finally meeting Darthminion. The rest of the English crew, including Seidon, I'm sure will join for events happening in London in the future, so if I miss Hypespotting, I at least know that there will be opportunities to play these at a later stage.

Manjimaru: Are you the only non UK-based VF junky attending at the moment? How about our German friends?

I am sorry that I pushed hard for VF being the official game at Hypespotting, even though I never 100% knew for sure whether I could finally attend in the end. I would have had ChiefFlash and ShinobiFist on my side to help me with character anti-strats during the tournament.

Anyhow, if I do get the time, I will let Seidon know immediately of the travel plans. If not, then I wish you guys the best of times at probably the last European VF5 vanilla tournament we'll have.

As you said there will be chances in the future. With FS coming in the summer I will try and force VF on the Scottish players up here and I'm sure Marly is aiming to do the same with the English players.

 

Any of you that are coming expect a PM from me in the next couple of days. It will just be a small questionnaire on your experience with fighting games and some general VF stuff. Just looking to get some additional background info on the players. Just so I have a little extra to talk about during the stream between rounds and whatnot. No one really knows EU and UK VF players so I think it would be good to generate some player awareness before Final Showdown. If you don't want to answer them don't worry about it!

Darth is attending, yes? I have friendly bet with a friend on Darth winning the tournament but I'm kind of out of the loop right now.

Event will be streamed here. VF will be at some point between 3pm -5pm on the Saturday and the finals at 1pm to 2pm on the Sunday.

I'll try and keep you updated closer to the actual time the VF tourney is kicking off. I should be on VFDC around then anyway.

The times I have given are GMT.

So 9am to 11am CST on Saturday and 7am to 8am CST on Sunday.
