What KoD said is essentially the point. The delay to beat opp after succesfull evade only works if the opponent is trying to attack after it. That makes you 'track'.

However, situation is entirely different after unsuccesful evade..

You are... We are trying to help you out and you're mad that Sarah doesn't have a full circular mid. I understand what you're saying but, again, if they are choosing right over and over it's tough to beat.

I thought you knew that just delaying your string wont track them unless they hit a button so I should have started with that.

However, like Manji said, if you delay your response to their blocked string you can hit them off of their failed evade.

People who evade a lot, after most of their strings, even when they could fuzzy, is a weakness you can totally destroy. Counter with throws till they move to low punch and then kill that with elbow like you did to me with Jacky, that owns low punch.

Manji and Gernburgs, yeah if they evade and do nothing, then yeh that's my ass. How often does someone evade and hit absolutely nothing? Not even G? What really made me create this thread was when my first part of an attack gets evaded and my 2nd hit still misses(while my opponent is doing stuff other than being in neutral) and I get hit, or the 2nd hit just seems to get "out prioritized" by my opponents attack(probably based on it being stronger).

I figured that this was just an issue with me timing my 2nd strike wrong. This is what I still can't figure out yet.

Gernburgs, if I'm being a jerk to you, zentou, and koryo, I'm sorry. I didn't have any other way to word it, and i felt you guys didn't understand what I was trying to type out. I felt like you three weren't addressing anything I was saying, but was instead just offering me alternatives that I already took into account. If I was actually talking to you guys though, instead of it being text, I don't think i'd have came off this way. So that's my bad.

Also, Gernburgs, didnt you get mad at me for using 6P on you j/k /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

It worked though and I was trying to low punch so I just offered it up because it beats low punch nicely, that's all.

Also, I think you can evade and press guard without them tracking you. You have to actually try to attack for their string to track you.

Not 100% positive about that though. (I know everyone hates theory fighter so forgive me if I'm wrong...)

The tracking thing must be what the big problem is.

That is incorrect, just pressing guard after an evade will always cause things to track you, exactly the same as if you attack.

Tracking occurs when the evader attacks after evading a string. If an attack been evaded and the evader decides not to attack the move wont/shouldn't track. It's been said a few times however that if you evade then block its possible a move can track on

Aight, i've got 2 questions now.

Can movement(i meant directional movement) from the evader, after the evade, cause the strikes to track?

Can an attack from your opponent after they've been tracked, beat out out the tracked attack? Meaning, can they evade the first part of something, then attack while the move is tracking them beating that move?

    1. I believe not... button presses cause things to track you (I will note again... this includes guarding, or doing something like entering OM at the end of your successful evade), but I don't believe directional inputs do. It's not that hard to test... if you evade the first hit of PPPK, and do nothing, your opponent will finish the whole string while running past you in a single direction. If you do anything to force tracking, they'll turn towards you in the middle of the string. Might require a second person, and not just the dojo, to check that stuff accurately.

    2. It's just normal counter hit rules, depends on when the active frames occur on the attacks in question. So "yes", provided the evader uses the right attack with the right timing.

Delay 33K or 4K are my choice moves. I usually throw them out from a backward CD to space myself if i anticipate the evade.

Sorry i havent been around fellow Sarah players. My 360 bricked on me. When it comes back, ill get games in with all of yall.

As far as I know, pressing any button after evading makes moves track. Pressing the stick doesnt. So you can step as long as you dont use G button. And I think its possible to do like evade attack by imperfect input (like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u.gif , /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif~/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif) and it makes moves track, because im frequently being hit out of my evadeattacks in online.
