So I take it you're expressing bitterness, instead.

Live isn't perfect by any means but there are competitive, virtually lag free games going on all the time. Given two good connections, you can still fuzzy, you can still block > 6P the 2P whores, etc.

In short, Live isn't a joke. It can edify your offline game without a doubt. It seems elitist to mock the burgeoning online community, especially since it has brought so much new(bie) competition to vfdc, a portion of which will in time become the "hardcore" folks who galvanize the competitive community.

And (perhaps most importantly) it's damned entertaining to be able to play my offline friends everyday without having to drive 2-3 hours to do so. Player matches > ranked matches !!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If this was sarcasm, then those were some funny ass posts.

But it seems like it wasn't. For DOA, we've basically "been there and done that already" with the whole online-abusable stuff. Seems like it's VF's turn to overcome this for the online players.

Best thing you can do, in short, is to rape the players using "abusable" tactics and educate the public. Show the scrubs who's boss and show them that there's a lot more to this game than what they do to achieve online wins. And if they show a true desire to learn more and improve, then help them out a bit or lead them to this site.

Needless to say, keep your offline game intact. Don't let online stuff screw you over or hold you back in any way.

The point of this thread is that while I understand that some people do not want to stoop to LP'ing back, or resorting to any other abusable tactics in order to beat people abusing moves online.

The most obvious and direct solution is to just do it.

I almost feel like people have this desire to avoid learning how to win. Cause I know that for alot of people that are new, it doesn't help them to get better when you are trying to teach them to employ more advanced tactics especially in an online environment.

In this specific example, if you want people to learn how to deal with LP, I personally think the best way is to recommend them to do the same thing, until someone comes around and beat them up with it, then it will be very clear to see why it doesn't work and how to beat it.

Telling them to do all these advanced stuff will simply not work as the environment is just not suitable for it to be predictable, let along for people who are new to the game.

I agree with srider. 2P is a good strategy online. If they start to read it then just do something else until they don't suspect it and go back to 2P.

I used to complain about 2P when I played say Plague or Dustin, but nowadays it's more or less apart of the strategy. 2P is just a great option to use now an then.

If people consider spacing/blocking/using a sabaki/reversing/elbowing/etc. LP's to be "advanced and not reliable", then that's a problem.

Lag can sometimes completely throw off things, but what it usually does (and what many people don't see yet) is that things have to be timed more strictly, less time to do things. And when this happens, people look for "a way out" by using a move that to them is fairly safe, quick option that they THINK involves no risk.

Or they could just be copying other people and think that what they do is right. If they see other people use LP and winning, they'll start doing that because of the "I'm playing to win in a flawed environment", especially when they can get away with things in ranked matches because "I'm only playing this person once".

Mix in the right amount of LP's to show that it can be good. But also show people ways to kill LP's, and they should eventually understand. Doing too much of either of these will be leading the player to the wrong path, while balancing the two will help both of you play better and have more fun.

If this is what you meant, Srider, then I missed it. Oops.

Its funny, I use Nessa Jeff,Akira and Wolf. Ive been real patient with low punch spammers. I guess because its takes them too long to figure it out. I have seen low skilled Akira players starting to use his overhead sabaki. Hhmmmm.... reminds me of the A.I. you could train on VF4. Now if only Konjou coud train me, LMAO.

I have even been /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif'ed out of /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif CH or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif CH ~ buffered mid. I.e. I dont even bother to hit check the punch, just jab then mid, I see the jab counter hit, get beat by the lowpunch.

Forget about being able to elbow a blocked /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif online on many connections.

Ok, just a little public service anouncement here. Low punch does not work against Eileen's P, P, (P,) QCF+P combo. I know it's tempting to block the low kick, but getting hit by the follow up for the above combo will screw you over even worse. Don't play 50/50 games, learn to sidestep. This concludes my public service anouncement.
