Jeff's wallgame is pretty sick atm, 1p+g has skyrocketed up the chart of the games best throw. Wonder when rev 2 is coming out ^__^

Next Version will be Ver. A. I had originally thought that the version at the end of the beta was Ver A, but actually it's the one after Revision 1. Makes sense though, we are finally seeing VF5 coming out of beta test status...

Anyway this Jeffry series is crazy. The only reason I see for it still being in rev1 is Jeffry users giving money to other players so that tey don't go and tell SEGA lol.

 

In previous Vf titles I was never quick to point out the top tiers fighters simply because I never really believed one character was far above any other... But looking at that Jeffry video (and not just that video but many others of his) it seems his wall combo ablity is too great and its isnt just his wall game that seems unreasonably damaging but his basic combos as well. It safe to say this time that Jeffry is def among the top tiers

 

I think Jeffry's SE against walls is ridiculous and definitely needs to be toned down. There's no question about that.

However, if you take that away I think Jeffry seems pretty fair in VF5. His throwing game is much better with a strong option, but many of his attacks have been weakened. For example, recovery of his (probably his best attack in VF4) is now P-counterable, and his is not nearly as good as it was before. His damage potential is only really better for +. Also, keep in mind he was rated by most as low tier in VF4, so if you believe that is true then he should be improved in VF5 for the game to be more balanced.

Just saw the clip. Thats way too much. Hopefully this is corrected. It's good jeffry is better than before but with damage like this he is top teir for sure.

 

The question is how often can that combo work? Getting hit with while BT (or so it seems to me) probably doesn't happen very often.

 

It seems to be a pretty special case thing and I don't imagine it's something that needs to be corrected. I think the "Jeffry is overpowered" stuff is in general a little premature.

 

If anything, it'll prevent Lion from doing that annoying backturned move at the beginning of the round. That's a win/win /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

But in general, moves that turn the character around have become much more risky than before. Interesting.

 

I think Jeffry needs to be made faster Honestly, aside from special situations, he does not seem that much powered up. Anyways, didn't he win the last tourny?

OM can be used to get around full circular attacks (kind of like you dodge as the opponent goes straight through you)... I read this in the White Book, and at first I thought I was misreading it, but your observation leads me to believe that I was right...

They give an example of Aoi's and from her Tenchiinyou (Ying-Yang) Stance... It says these are fully circular but can be avoided by using OM where DM would fail... It says you can use OM when you are at advantage to avoid opponents attacks in advance (with the right timing)...

Can OM be used to avoid all high attacks? Can OM only be used to dodge full circular attacks? Can OM be used to dodge mid/low full circular attacks (I don't think so)? Why the hell does it seem like every time I try OM I eat a major counter yoho combo... These questions remain unanswered /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
