I know all about DFS being used after recovering opponents its one of his best oki options. I actually listed it in the short guide I did. Theres no way its his MAIN weapon IMHO. I mean SDE, yoho, stpm lots more alternatives to DFS.

Plague...if they TR the SDE>sgpm>de just sidekick them in the back for the rest of their lifebar:) Techrolling there is a no-no unless things are just desperate.

Spymobb...Akira has thos two guardbreak moves...f P+K+G & d P+K+G...the first you can follow with b,f P & combo & the second you can get P, K which is nice since you get a small advantage plus a little damage. The key to defeating someone who is whoring block though is to throw, throw, throw. They'll get tired of being thrown & then you get to yoho them (or something). Also if you check out some vids you'll notice Akira players twitching around all spastically and stuff. Sometimes this is neutral situation defense, sometimes this is just a little dance & sometimes Akira is trying to bait his opponent into giving him something to punish. Lots of times it's all this...just consider that all of those little twitches are potential elbows or doublepalms or singlepalms or yohos or shrms & Akira's power starts to become clear.

    Wow. That sounded positively fanboyish.

    I <3 Akira

Yes Akiras guard breaks are extremely useful when fighting. Using [6][P]+[K]+[G] or [2][P]+[K]+[G] gives you a big range of follow up combos to use. Wise words from sanjuro too (my Akira tuition wouldn't have been as fast as it were without his help). After the [6] GB you've got all your stpm options open as well as (if lucky) a yoho or knee (or SJK which will float higher than usual and allow combos). Sgpm is also an0pther good option (but you won't be able to get a sgpm-DE out as the m-sgpm you do is [2][6][P] type motion...its a long story basically you can't do sgpm-DE after ST or SE or guard break etc.Btw a fully charged DFS has the same effect as a GB on a guarding opponent.

I realize that TR after the whole combo is not so great. I've set CPU Pai to Counter Hit and TR. If I perform (MC) SDE [3][3][6]+[P][P] she will TR after the palm to avoid the elbow. I don't think there is enough time to sidekick or DFS to punish the TR if your elbow misses.

ur timing after the SDE is wrong..
delay it a little n u will see pai bounce off the ground differently after the single plm, allowing the DE follow up to hit.

strider you are absolutely right. any character can apply this type of pressure. and you are right that akira's is one of the best in the game, because it's half circular.

i hear ya on those moves being better. but your missing the point. using that move will try to make them dodge to his back, which can lead to an easy spod. or the y will try to interupt to stop you, so it can lead to a easy SDE / YOHO etc. The whole point is to force them to block. And even if they do block you are at no major disadvantages. Of coarse you want it to hit too. And if it hits and they stop TR / QR then you can dash forward and tag on a low kick ( up to 4 if they continue not to TR / QR) followed by a down attack [3]+[P].

Yes I do appreciate that its an excellent tool for mind games. I do use it often...but I try to not use it so often it starts getting predictable.
