GVN Summer Bash 2 - Aug23rd Media, PA

alright so I have akira staying at my place. anybody else coming out? Cheif Flash? Chef boy? VA crew coming down?

 

I found out today why I haven't been getting in touch with Paul from Vrush. He got into a nasty accident a few weeks ago and suffered major injuries. He is currently getting rehab and making progress so what ever business we have will have to wait a little bit til he gets better.

 

God damn, where's the hype people. Who's coming? besides Myself, Akira, Lowsweep and maybe Bitchmade who else is making the trek?

 

Currently I think I count as VA lol since I am technically staying there for a while (well after I get back from LA). But you can also count me as midwest or w/e lol. I'll be there regardless though.

 

We have to play each other some time. I saw you online for a second yesterday but when I tried to join it wouldn't let me and I didn't see you again.

Here's some information on a hotel down the street from the venue. To get to the mall, info is in the main post. To get to route 352 just walk northbound on route 1 and walk up the ramp.

MacIntosh Inn(located next to Denny's, might also be called express Inn)
$60-70 a night
Located on route 352 and route 1(baltimore pike)

 

In terms of sponshorship one company might be willing to give VR $2k for their all their tournaments. So Paul of VR "might" give us $1k for my event if they get the money. If so then instead of splitting it 5 ways of $200 each I might make it $250 guarenteed to the 4 games with the biggest turnout. Reason why I say that is because I am having my doubts about VF and Smash Bros. turnsout since no one in either community seems to give a flying fuck or just haven't spoekn up.

Anyway just to remind you this isn't 100% gaurenteed yet so don't come in thinking you are about to get a load of cash for 1st.

 

Its a shame more people in our area aren't interested in VF. I'm not worried about a cash prize though because I'll probably get beat in the first round anyway. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

 

oh no the cash prize is just for fun. I expect people to come for the love of the game. I have people flying in for DOA, but I don't know why people don't just drive an hour(or 3) out of their way to support their games. I've gone out of state a few times for VF and DOA.

 

Yeah man I feel the same way. I drove to VA with a sprained right ankle just to play VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif To me, meeting new players is just as exciting as winning.

I'll try to make it if I can. I got a lot of things going on plus we are planning our NYC get together. Hopefully I can make it!

Does anyone have room for 5 people? I have some friends coming with me, out of Southern VA and Richmond.

 

The prize money would be great, but what I'm really looking forward to is the new people I'll get to play! I hope this event has a great turnout.

 

still looking into this... thinking about joining the DOA tourney too if I can get some of the rust off. I haven't touched that game in ages and bet there are all kinds of new tricks and setups I don't know about.
