*Sigh*Ok so you didn't play it right ?

but the thing that bothers me is all the good reviews it got.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Why does it bother you if you haven't played it for yourself. Is your friend's word the bottom line to everything you do in your life ? So if I get this straight your friend is right and the reviewers along with the millions who went out and got it are wrong.

PS. Not picking on you, just showing you how retarded your post was.

Nah is just that everyone that I know and played it said it sucks that can't be just a coinsidence, but of all the gaming sytes I wen't to gave it a 8 or higher. Guess I'll give the game a ren't for a while now too know for sure.

Usually when ppl tell me a game's garbage, I tend to ask why. So far you haven't given me your friend(s) reason(s) as to why the game sucks : poor controls, bad sense of speed, not enough tracks, not enough cars, not enough things to customize... And what was it exactly that reviewers wrote that pissed you off : best racing game ever, better than GT4 lol... Get a quote or something, an 8 or a 9 dosen't say much, you have to read the full review in order to get a better picture of the game. Or just simply do like you said you were going to do and go out and rent it.

I just realised something. Why are we even talking about another racing game in a GT4 thread ? I'm finished with the NFS talk.

GT as a racing simulator really does suck. If one has ever played other true racing simulator like F355 Challenge and other F1 games like Grand Prix Legends you would realize just bad the game is in comparison. Besides for shiny graphics and supposely real physics that's involved in the game's development. All the cars feels about the same with minor differences. Lastly the freaking sound of the engine is pathetic even compare to a recording that I'd got from a ferrari freak.

And for all of us that can drive, you can't honestly tell me that GT even actually comes close.

The physics engine in GT are good. Not the best, but good. What really makes GT "the real driving simulator" and raises it above any other racing series is the way it SIMULATES THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DIFFERENT CARS. They do not feel the same. The best graphics (by far) and a bucketload of races don't really hurt either.

WRC series gives me the best thrills when I really (and just) wanna drive. Well virtually anyway... Colin McRae Rally games are just a mix between enjoyable playability (=arcade) and reality, they're fun - but not real. Evolution Studios' WRC series beats CMR so bad it's actually funny. (I do like CMR too but reality is another thing.)

Still, as driving games GT > WRC.

Oh and about NFSU... My friend who has played the game A LOT came here yesterday. I on the other hand had never even seen NFSU in real life, but it took me like five minutes (a couple of races) and then he couldn't beat me anymore. That's not cool. Sooooooo arcade.

I want realism. Games that require skill to be good at. (That's why I play Evo for example... /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif )

*rolls eyes* Ok explain. This is exactly what I was telling Dark Bandanna earlier. You're really not saying anything.

Again explain. As much as I like Ferrari, I still would rather have more cars to choose from and more stuff to customize. Also I'm pretty sure there's great F1 games out there, but c'mon lol.

I don't think I can say that it comes close but as far as videogames go, I can honestly say that it's the one I prefer. Did you play GT4 already ?

NFSU is more of an arcade racing than anything else. Its good that you can cu stomize the car looks and Upgrade it after a few races thats about the only thing that kept me playing.

Part of the reason GT is such a hit is the great music wich NFSU lacks, is no fun going at 200mph if the most enjoyable thing to hear is you cars engine. I agree that GT doesn't have as many customisations as other simulators but you have to look at the 40+Music tracks, all the cars, Tracks and circuits that the game has you can tell that they put effort in the game.

I'd have to disagree with that... personally, I turn the music off. They're very good but I like listening to my car's engine rev to the high RPMs... that, to me, IS the soundtrack and its the damn best soundtrack for any racing game.

(reffering to kungfusmurf) The reason the sounds of the car's engines are pathetic is because you're probably listening to daihatsu cars lol.

Well, if im playing with a friend then I'd rather have the SF louder that the Music, is funn leaving someone on the dust by your custom made car, they think that just because they have the escudeo they're invinsible. BTW the only reason I like GT music so much is because the're all diferent, unlike some racing games that only have one or two types of music(ussually rap & rock) GT has Pop,Rap,remakes of old music, rock & Jazz.

    so true /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

i usually tell them how many horses (1800hp!!!) it has and brags how fast it goes (over 280+km/h!!!). then i go beat em with a "slow-ass" (750-800hp...) F090S. LOL

that escudo and some highly tunable monster cars also pop up a question in my mind. suppose in real life you had an escudo, could u soup it up to 1200hp or more etc??? seems kinda unreal. can its frame even sustain that much...

its very possible. ive seen 2000+ hps on Supras before /versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif. pretty amazing. they stripped the car down, put authentic body kits on it (the ones that actually help the car get some downforce), carbon-fibred everything, and as i mentioned before, tuned it into a 2000+ hp monster. im sure its tuboed or supercharged. it would be crazy NA.

    Re: Gran Turismo 4: Prologue

" The Prologue Edition will feature five courses - New York, the Grand Canyon, an Italian town, and Japan's Fuji Speedway and Tsukuba Circuit - which were also already seen in previous demos of Gran Turismo 4. The New York course will be centered on Times Square, while the Fuji Speedway will be a reproduction of the real course before it underwent massive remodeling. Even though the Tsukuba Circuit is well-known in Japan, this will be the first time that the course will be included in the GT series. About 50 cars will be selectable in the Prologue Edition which, while a vast selection for a racing game, is still small when considering that the final GT4 will feature over 500 vehicles."

This gamee is going to kick azz, too bad the prologue demo costs over 40dollars, if not I wouls have been the first to buy it. But 500 Vehycles is a serous ammount, considering that the previous one had only little over 180, hopefully the game will also have lots of Races, tracks & parts to buy.

What I wish they'd implement in the game are bodykits and aero packages or something... something to personalize your car. The cars are beautiful so i wanna see how ugly they can get...
