Good Games Thread

Had some good games with Feck the other day. Realized I was outta my depth when he schooled me. Think I won 2 out of the 20 or so fights we had.

 

Dragon, dont take it hard, Feck is a good player, anybody on this site would have to work hard to beat his akira.

 

No I don't take it hard, I'm a newb at VF the only reason I beat him was probably due to the fact he was rusty. But it's all good either way, I don't want to play beginning players I want to play the very best.

You're in luck. There are very few actual beginners still playing. In the UK at any rate.

Most people that are playing over here have a pretty good grasp of how to play.

If you get the chance you should play Hazzerone. He's probably the newest player besides yourself. He has some talent (don't tell him I said that) but gets frustrated pretty easily and can be quite predictable at times.

It'd be cool to get some kind of rotation in a party or parties going. Switching opponents every 10-15 minutes or so, and having 2 players hosting so there will always be matches for randoms/people that aren't in the party to join. I say 2 people cause incase after 5 min. no one joins, they can play each other.

If there's only a few people, when you go back to playing x person again, should switch mains or something to make it fun. I only know Eileen and Akira now, but i'd be willing to use a Brad, Wolf, Lei Fei etc. for the sake of having some fun and laughs, plus learning a lil something just by using another character. Shit, every move doesn't have to be so mathematical all the time. Unless you want it to be though, and that's cool. You learn, and go back to your main with new look/approach sometimes.

If me, Plague, Dr Familia, The Weiand and so on are on at the same time, rotations would be nice and should be done. The only reasons I think one wouldn't want to is if you're a picky player (we don't want your bad vibe anyways lol, jk) or the lag is just too much. And I can respect that to the fullest (especially the lag). Do you.

We know the lobby system aint the greatest, so it's up to us to make one ourselves or keep complaining bout no one to find/play. And the lobby system.

You aint even gotta clutter up your friends list. Only name you need on your list is the VFDC Friends gamertag since that one has bout 60 VF players in it. Although not many on the list (to my knowledge) rarely play VF or only against folks who are on their friends list anyways. If you're still one of the few keeping VF alive, you should add yourself to that tag and if new cats want, just direct em to that tag too if they looking for players.

All a new player really needs to be doing first of all is learning and memorizing their characters move set. And gettin their ass whooped along with even matches (Use a new character to help balance it for them if you happen to be up to play em for 10-15 min.). They don't really need to be taught nothing at first imo. Cept fuzzy and ETEG. Direct em to wiki. And that's it, aint gotta really say much else to em. They mainly need that and hours of battle experience. Most all of the beginner to advanced stuff is here at the top of the page already in writing and categorized. If one wants to really get deep on any game, they'll find the forum for it or the forum will find them. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make em drink type shit.

I understand if FS drops, that'll bring new players. But shit, what about the cats renting or buying VF5 used for 10$ that wanna check out VF or get a lil head start before FS? They go Online and aint shit there lol. I still see new names when I go on.


It's too bad that for this being the first time for VF to be Online, to play other VF players around the world. And it's going down like this, just because R or FS isn't on or announced for consoles. This is what folks find. It's good to have a break from a game. I can't play VF 24/8 either. But dam, too many at once lol.


For us few still doin it Online, it's up to us to make VF playable Online. If you build it, they will come. Even old VF heads here that stopped. I'm sure if the community was active with players, they'd come back. I hardly play VF now either, and that's cause of the lack of matches to be found. It sucks but, all I can think or say is to do something about it. And that's not easy lol.

if neone plays late.. like 1-3AM PACIFIC, i got parties chats up.. not always but sometimes. And i host little tournies over mic, so drop by anytime u guys want.. the Feacha, if u wanna drop by and play with us, it may be a lil laggy, but ur connection seemed good, so i duno how it is with u and overseas.

Allstar i saw u invite, ill play with u hopefully soon. I dunt really play much ppl lately, but ill hopefully get in some time to play.. i have too much work to do.. and i play 1 person, and im off for like next couple hrs..

 

GGs Konjou, thanks for playing me so many games the other day. I wish you woulda said something about char switching cuz I'm all for that. Trying out different things and different matchups is a lot of fun... even when I don't know what the hell I'm doing

GGs Izuna, strangely enough when you were hosting it showed 4 bars, but when I was hosting only 1? crap. I wonder if it means my connection is not up to speed or that it was fluctuating. but yes, thx for the good games! do you remember that game when we went to the 5th round and then you perfected me? LOL I was in tears.

 

Yeah, I find that the bars fluctuate somewhat, (I saw it show 1,2, and 3 bars between us at different points) but it was always playable on my end.

LOL, but yeah, I liked that one match where we traded perfects.(I think that might be the one you're talking about) I was also trying to practice TE at those points where I would just freeze up and guard, trying to remember which direction was for which throw. A friend of mine offline plays Jacky, so I was kicking myself for not remembering XD
