GG's to Akirazero - Nice Little session. It kinda felt like you just wanted to land that big blow to get your offense started. I tried to remain elusive a bit to bait but you did'nt take it so i had to go to plan C lol!!!

GG's to T-Fam - Always a pleasure. Thanks for the Encouragement and confidence boost. Yeah its obvious i play to get better an to win but.... Thats whats fun about V.F. A lot of people don't know that i missed VF4:Evo. I was in love with 4 but i played a glimpse of Evo and i could'nt understand Why they nerfed Jacky.Cidkid started using Jacky so i leave the game cause he was stealing my tatics (Shhhhss Don't tell nobody lol.) Now that FS is on course i want to sharpen my basic fundamentals just in case somehow the online is good enough to get 1 or 2 bars with Japan. Anytime you seem and you want to get a few in holla.

GG's to Jhow - I refuse to chase you around in VF5 anymore. I get frustrated by the amount to near misses that happen to me. when i let loose with Wreckless abandon i win but then i cannot follow up because it doesnt phase you one bit and i don't want to keep those bad habits. Anyways Good games.

GG's to Hansy Nice games Man. I can clearly see the improvements. Keep it up your coming along nicely.

There is definitely a science to playing against Shun. The drink factor alone creates this. In most fighting games I never make the person come to me, but Shun's drinking game envokes this. I won't lie, I love playing him. I really do want to get back to my roots with Jacky. It's been far too long without playing him. I sometimes miss the style that Jacky allows me to play with. Shun, in a way, has changed my VF habits.

Well I think the more sensible thing to do is keep your xbox and just not play VF. I just know that's not going to happen when I start to Jones. I'm really bad when it comes to a game that I like. Shit I still fiend to play a mod called Last Man Standing on Unreal Tournament 1999. A mod that's unpopular AND over 11 years old [IMG]

On that note I'm about to give in! Big check on the way and I've convinced myself that the cheap entertainment value fightings games gives me will help me achieve my overall goal of saving money.

On another note I really gotta get my shun going again. Just playing as him frustrates and pisses off opponents more than stomping with Jeff ever could!

Don't worry Jhow77, there's nothing wrong with how you play Shun. I welcome your play style. The whole fun of VF is figuring out how to beat someone, no matter how they choose to play the game. If someone is winning against me, no matter in what way, I welcome it because it means I'm not doing something right and I have to figure out what that is. If winning means I have to spam something or play out of the ordinary, so be it. It's just another tool I'll learn for someone else or next time.

You're Shun is fun, plain and simple. I always enjoy our matches. There's a lot of different ways to play Shun and I know you play with flash more so then using basic tools to win, but it's cool. Everyone has their own style, it'd be boring if they didn't. Sure bullshit might happen every now and then, but we're playing fucking VF online. Bullshit always happens cause it's online. I've learned to deal with it and move on and play the game for what it is. People forget that online bullshit isn't a one sided affair. Both players have to deal with it. It's just that usually one is complaining and the other isn't.

Coming from street fighter like you Jhow77, playing that game where it's nothing but turtles and everyone playing keep away, VF has nothing on it even close, so I could never complain. We need to get in some matches soon. I love your Shun shenanigans.

Anyway ggs to everyone I've played lately. I've been too lazy to bring up the sticks upstairs to play on my account so I sometimes use White_Worms xbox. If you see a Lion or Kage on that, it's probably me.

That's why even though I play to win and I am competitive, I don't really take online as serious as most. When you lose offline, there is no excuse. Although I've heard some sore losers come up with lame excuses offline too, lol.
Online's a tool for me to experiment and practice yomi but ultimately doesn't mean as much as offline.
I can beat players online who whoop my ass offline [IMG]
Although wins and losses don't mean as much online, it's still a great learning tool.

I don't know. When you play offline the blaming it on lag joke is always a winner.

ggs tfam. Are games are getting more and more fun as we begin to attack tendencies [IMG] I feel like they are forcing me to raise my game. Also, it's always fun just trying to throw out new stuff, like TAKE THAT...oh wait, didn't work, hahahaha. Good games man.

ggs denkai. my high risk wolf shenanigans aren't that effective lol. I did miss a pedigree in the 8th game that could've sealed the deal. Hopefully I'm not too far off base.

If I were to look at my game lately: My hit checking, reading techrolls and not landing enough big throws are probably my most glaring weaknesses. Also not playing nearly enough. It's still online though *barfs*

Thanks for the props! I agree, we must play again soon! I think the last time we played was on a Wednesday morning which works well because I don't work that day. When works best for you?

As long as you understand and figure out why JHow could win, it's not a big deal losing to him:) From my experience, probably no one can handle Jhow~

i enjoy playing vs jhow. Idk, i don't really find that i'm chasing him around. I also don't find him much more difficult too hit than other good players. I don't find myself worrying much about his drink management either. On the other hand, i have some very specific goals in attacking some of the situations that i know he relies on to do well.

ggs to you jhow. The only time i really get annoyed playing you is when you start breaking out dmpk 4 or 5 times a fight. That gets under my skin. But other than that, it's all good. All the 'running' people say you like to do, i don't see as running at all. IMO you are just spacing, which everyone should try and do.

Jhow is like barry sanders, if you miss him, just stay put, he's coming back to you anyway. [IMG]

ggs to the feucha. I was impressed that your akira came back as sharp as u played. Ggs, fun games, hope to get in more soon.

ggs to ced h tone. really fun goh vs shun matchups. This guy does play a LOT like jhow. He's not quite as good at fuzzies, but seems to teg/eteg more. I was surprised how much he felt like a little mini jhow (like jhow but not as strong). I don't remember him using so many of the same set ups from before. Of course, he had the one shun habit....

Shuns you on blast, all you shun users dm+pk too much. [IMG]

SDS you missed my point, and I'm not trying to pick a fight. Play or don't play, I won't lose sleep over it. I enjoy playing you. You have a very aggressive style and it's fun to try and get through it. It's always more interesting for me to play an aggressive player. It just makes the match more exciting.

If I may go back to our discussion about rank and player matches... the sheer notion that people might feel they are chasing someone around, or don't like a certain move, or nitpick about anything, is where I differ completely. Losing motivates me to win! Weird BS motivates to win. Lame patterns and tactics motivate me to win (if I'm losing to it). I love losing because it makes me seek out opportunity that I normally wouldn't have to seek. I agree SDS when you say the only thing that makes you better is practice, practice, practice, but there is HUGE difference between player match practice and ranking match practice.

Dennis I'm sure what you said here is absolutely being nice but I'm not sure exactly how to take this. I can only assume that this means, in your opinion, because I do very unorthodox things and manipulate certain situations in the game engine that it somehow takes away some of the credit. I couldn't disagree more. If anything it should add to it. We all play for fun, but we play to win also. Winning should be at any cost and doing whatever is necessary. I of course have my guidelines on what is necessary, excessive, and annoying, but I realize that can be a matter of opinion. I would hope that trickery and being unorthodox is very much welcome over spamming, running, flailing, etc. I know for sure some people can get tired of playing against any Shun, but again this is where I differ. No matter what style I lose to, I won't be satisfied until I develop a strategy against it! And players will be stuck at a certain level unless there is a burning desire within them to conquor.

As for no one being able to handle me, wow thanks for the props but that is far from the truth. If I were to critique myself I would say I am obviously extremely knowledgable with Shun and the VF game engine. Where I lack expertise is with other characters. I only fully or close to fully understand about half the characters. I make up for this by understanding the game engine so well. Both Shun and Lion had properties no other character had way back in VF2. These unique properties stuck with all the future series. Heck, in VF4 Lion got a few things that were of glimpse of what was to come in Final Tuned and VF5. Shun's and Lion's special dodge is enough to overcome many situations that VF has. Purposely falling down or getting knocked down out of certain stances is another advanced tactic that can help immensely and especially screwing with the flow of the round or match. I can definitely say I don't think I run across too many people hoping that they get hit. I guess I wouldn't say I'm hoping for it, but I put myself in situations where if I do get hit, it ends up either being not that damaging, not detrimental, confuses the opponent, or even puts me at advantage. A great example of being put at advantage upon being hit is when I get knocked down FACE UP/HEAD TOWARDS. This often will draw a pounce or ground hit and I can just stand up with P and get a throw. I love thinking outside the box with VF because it just seems like there are so many opportunities to do so.

Heh, I definitely know that you have developed some anti-JHow Shun tactics... bastard! =) And I think I know a couple of them. Even when I have realized that someone has caught on to something I will still do it to envoke it again so I can change my plan of attack and then surprise! Then after that someone's new found strategy gets overthought or delayed and bam, problem solved! My favorite thing to envoke against Lei players is his charging lunge attack into Shun's sabaki. I know you're way to smart for that now. =(

As for DMPK, I will admit that for being a skilled player I use that a little more than most, but Shun's DMPK is so damn good I'd be a fool not to use it! If you don't tech-roll after I can give huge damage with 3PPK. If you do tech-roll I can whiff 3P to envoke your next attack and then have many choices on what to do next. I've been whiffing 3P since VF3TB. I know you will understand and appreciate when I say, if you're getting hit by DMPK you need to do something about it. I will also admit that when I resort to this move it can sometimes be due to not fully understanding my opponents attack. And you my friend are definitely skilled with Lei and also skilled at confusing me sometimes.

LOL! So true! Let's play again soon, and pick Lei next time!!
