Good Games Thread

GG's to GT! I had a lot of fun last night. I'm trying to change a lot of things about my game right now, but it's so hard to pull away from what you have always been doing for so long. If you are on again tonight just hit me up for some more. Oh and no delayed 's ok... God damn you use that shit to good!

GG's to Denkai from the night before. Well wasn't a GG's, but more like a GA(ss whooping). You are definitely on a level all by yourself at this point in the game and I have tons of catching up to do. If you on later tonight hit me up for some games. Oh and you can bring Shun again if you want. Normally I'm not in the mood to play VF that hard, because I'm just trying to have fun, but I'm in the mood now. It's time I rework my Akira for REAL this time, so not as much Lei playing for the next few weeks / months.

 

GGs to Social Ruin.

When you joined my room and I saw that solitary bar I was worried the game would be completely unplayable.

While it wasn't a perfect connection it was surprisingly stable. It's possible to adapt somewhat if the connection is stable.

I had fun in our games.

Akira vs Jacky was good. Your Jacky was very different to the Jackys I am used to playing. I was building my offence about throws which you caught onto quite quickly, I used backdash and attack a lot as I noticed you would really only open with short range attacks that I could avoide with that dash and usually cut the range with an SDE.

Goh vs Jacky was a lot of fun for me. Not played someone who can use Goh in a long time so it was refreshing. What I also liked is that you didn't just play him like Akira which some people tend to do. We both dropped a lot of combos in those matches (way more than AK vs JA). I don't know if it was due to the connection or that we had both just switched characters. I had a hard time timing my iageri, I should learn to do it through straight timing but I'm too used to doing it visually so I lose it quite often when I play people outside of the UK.

Great use of Goh's mids, had me freezing up every now and then. Those two rolls on wakeup were slaying me. Seemed like they put you slightly off axis or out of range and I couldn't strike you out when I stood up. Good shit.

Bugs me that I had to drop for dinner but i'd like to play some more at some point. Thanks for the games.

great games man. Ur jacky is bad ass, which didn't surprise me at all, lol. For goh's roll forward as oki. Off his neutral throw u do a double roll forward. The first is more of a place holder (follows backward roll, takes up just the right amount of time, etc) so that the second occurs right during the wake up attack and creates the off-axis. But it is also that special brand of off axis, where the game only really shows that there is an off axis if u attack. Know what i mean? It looks for all the world like i'm just standing in front of u, u facing straight at me, and as soon as u kick ur guys is striking off into the fore ground or back ground, and there even seems to be a decent window where even if u wait and do a p or something it still goes off axis. lol. I noticed we were dropping a few combos the 2nd game, mostly for me the follow up to 33p.

Nice hit checking, there were very few times that you'd do the k follow up on the 6p when u shouldn't. Now that i've taken up jacky, i really really like watching other jacky's. Is the 66K gauranteed on an exact side recovery after the inashi (catch p, then p)? U were killing me with it.

Also, akira throw chains eat me up. In truth, i've realized i am SUPER vulnerable to -4 sideturned. I have no idea how to defend this. It feels like any attempt to fuzzy it gauranteed mid for my opponent, and evade is guaranteed mid/throw. i mean, i could eteg, but if the evade isn't getting away from mids, what's the point. Is TEG my only option?

I was surprised when u showed up with akira, but ur inputs were pretty nice. And again i love mid range, and 1 of things i usually do fairly well from that distance is close with a chain attack, but akira's 216p and jacky's 4k+g both have nice priority and snuff that strat out. I really need to get better at in close fighting.

The connection was fairly good, and really stable. Which was awesome, since the only other time we tried it, it was bogus.

Thanks for the compliment to my goh, i've been using the motherfucker forever, and i didn't get good at him to quick. How long u been using Akira?

P.S. NIce throw escapes man. I never felt like my throw was gonna be gauranteed. I knew there was a chance that u were gonna break any throw i did. That always makes the game more exciting, and pushes me to TRY and break a couple back. nice stuff. Oh yeah, i think my jacky was different than the ones ur used to, just cause i don't know very much about him yet. Still exploring and learning on every set.

 

I've been using Akira for a while now, he was the second character I looked into learning. I had to learn to play him because I figured it would help with my execution in general. Besides, people kept telling me you couldn't play him on a pad and I wanted to see if that was true or not. (it's not)

When I use 6P with Jacky I like to delay the kick sometimes when it gets blocked as people always seem to go for the mid after blocking it and I can get a free hit. Probably not worth the risk considering what it leaves me at but it works often enough that I feel okay risking it. I've been using Jacky properly since December and it's one of those bad habits I need to beat out of my system or at least only use in moderation (not as often as I use it anyway).

If Jacky gets you with his pak sao and you normal tech roll (on the second "slam") then 66K will catch the tech roll. You can exact tech head over heels knockdown (the first "slam") and you'll be safe but I don't think I have ever seen anyone besides the CPU in dojo mode do that.

Those were a fun set of matches, I can tell your fairly new at blaze but you seem to have figured out some rudimentary combos which is good. Like I said you backdashing at the start of every single round got very predictable and was easy to punish. You also may want to do more then one throw, although it is is highest damage one.Hopefully I'll be able to play against you soon.

 

GGs Konjou, I'm trying to change up my game as well. I tend to do better when my game doesn't revolve around P and 2P. Also fixing my annoying evading habit.

GGs Plague always fun games. : )

Also ggs to sangwon V who is a decent Korean player staying at a friends house for 2 months. He'll probably be online more so look out for em'. : )

Good games to all the people I faced before today once again I have been lazy as of late. Great games to kfergi2, koc, and mackfactor. My internet was acting up towards the end and it ended my match against mackfactor's goh and I really wanted to play you some more to get better against a goh of your level. I had the most fun against kfergi2 however, his aoi and pai is always a joy to deal with being as aggressive as he is.

 

Mackfactor- I think RocketBlaze is freinds with Sangwon. He invited me to a Party but I didnt go and I was playing Sangwon at the time. SangwonV used to be Sangwon82 about a year ago. That account is on my Bigboyyoaz freind list and RocketBlaze is on my Queenofcarnage2 freind list.

i thought it was me who disconnected. I remember doing 66 P+K CH and the screen froze and the screen was bright YELLOW. IT was soo cool looking.

Thanks to Gastinell and SDS_Overfiend for the fights. Too bad about that weird choppy lag. I would have stayed longer had it not been there. At least things worked better with mackfactor's Vanessa. Short set there, too. I wanted to sleep.
