Good Games Thread

Hey, although I know Shun isn't really your cup of tea. You've played a LOT of Shuns. Any suggestions for me? I know I gotta maximize my damage in combos and probably add a step game. If anyone else wants to chime in let me know. I'm starting to get better at my inputs so that excuse is going to fly out the window soon. It's time to replace weakness with strategy.

Hey Rodney, I wasn’t offended by your comment just a little caught off guard by your actions. It was hard to understand at the time why you would almost completely stop moving and try to use only two moves to beat me. At first I can understand using the two moves to offset my approach but after the 3rd or 4th round of just seeing the same thing it read like you were unnecessarily trying to tell me something along the lines of “You are attacking too much in places where my moral play dictates you shouldn’t.”
At first I was like “hell yeah I’m gonna attack there till you give me a strong enough reason not to.” but eventually It kind of demoralized me to continue playing properly and eventually at all.
For me when I decide to up my defense I usually keep moving and work on better spacing cause that’s a strong aspect of defense, that way I don’t lose my offensive-defensive flow. So I couldn’t relate to that form of thinking. I just found myself thinking “why is he doing that??” But I can understand and accept that people approach things differently. So my bad for reading into it wrong. For what it’s worth I did enjoy our games up until that point. If I’m on, send me an invite, I would still like to play you more.

GGS None other. Its been a long time. We play too much tekken lol but it was fun playing you. You’re so strong. My brain was fried half way thru. I couldn’t even bring myself to ETEG by the last half of your win streak. My brain was like here it comes, but my body couldn’t keep up lol it was more of a nightmare trying to remember what my strats were for fighting shun on top of reading your movements and changing up mine. I just couldn’t mentally handle it at that point. I think I need to review my old “vs shun” matches and remember what my strats were to have a fighting chance.

 

I see... now I understand the conversation. You see I can play pretty damn fast and prefer it that way, but honestly you are faster than me and your spacing game is definitely much better than mines. It looks like my plan did work, it forced you to slow down to a speed where I could control you. Unfortunately it turned you off and I definitely would like to apologize for that.

The reason I opted to use such minimal moves was because I felt that that was all I need based on the way you were moving / attacking. I could sense when you would twitch so I just use 66P to hit you or 33PP to launch. When I was trying to do anything else that's when I kept getting beat up because my Lei offense has way to many holes.

I like to play in ranked match, and there is nothing to do in VF ranked for me, so I feel Tekken is really fresh.

I had trouble with your flamingo stance, but since Shun has 2K, it easier to stop your moves compare to other characters, but don't forget, you ALWAYS have advantage after Shun uses 2K, even its counter hit. well I'm just saying, Shun still has more tricky moves, so I wouldn't say attack Shun right after Shun used 2K.

I noticed frame data in Tekken is very important, but it's not that important in VF. Well, punishment moves are very important, but small advantage and disadvantage in VF aren't very important.

 

GGs man... Real talk, LA was my main since the first vf, but ever since playing with JE in vf4 and then evo, he kinda grew on me, and forced me to get more in depth with vf's system... Sometimes I feel like in order to play an effective LA, I had to do , , and do frame traps and throw setups... His combos suck imo now but I guess that's debatable...

I'm mad rusty with him though, but I still had a few tricks... I'm still surprised I'm able to pull off a though... I do notice I use less with him than I do with JE...

I know its a bit late, but GGs to all I've played, especially Dennis0201... Thanks for the pointers, and I promise to get more matches in with JE... Break that AK out for me though every once in awhile... I don't mind being humbled...

Fu unji, yeah I notice you use 2k to stop my Fl, so I switch to Fl 1k to beat you, but some time I miss for what ever reason. Or when you hit me with 2k if I advance on you after you hit me, you have so many tools to compensate for you being -frames that Sarah can't handle very well. If it was Vanessa I would let you 2k all day it wouldn't bother her but Sarah has a harder time to pressure Shun after being hit by 2k. That’s why I tried faking a dash in but when I did you didn't take the bait. lol
Yeah, tekken frame data is similar with VF frame data but small advantage matters more in VF then in Tekken. Especially when there are no elbow class moves or nitaku in tekken. That’s why characters like Lili can own with df+1 on block when that move is like -1 or -2 on block. Most characters don't have a good quick mid, and stepping in tekken is kind of stupid. Like in vf we all know if I do elbow, you block and you elbow me back, it will stop any of my attacks. But in tekken if I df+1(elbow) you block and you df+1(elbow) it only stops my mid class moves (for most characters) but not my 10frame jab. Plus mix that in with random high or mid crushes it starts to get silly. Your other option is to SS or SW the jab, but unlike Vf there is no guarantee that it will actually evade the jab. Unless you are using a character that has a godly crush system it becomes hard to get them off of you at small disadv. Only good oki will save. So yeah, small frame adv doesn't matter so much with tekken in the sense that you can rush down a little more randomly then compared to vf.

 

Good games to Hayato a few days ago. Seldom had that much fun while playing VF than in our little Goh mirror match session. Let's keep on moonwalking .

Konjou: Oh so close, yet o so far. I keep getting nailed by your setups for that 3pp launcher. Your damage output just trumps mine.

Lagzby: First game was lag fiesta brother but the rest were pretty good. Too bad I choked the last game.

Social: I don't know how to put a finger on your Lei. It's like old shit I've seen a thousand times but can't stop anymore. PP throw, pp d+k, pp sweep. None of it is that fast but I just eat it over and over. Maybe I should just go back to Jeff when playing you just to match damage output lol

 

Yea, I'm going to have to chime in about Social Ruin's Lei. He's stepped up his game in a big way recently. Lately when I play him, I just can't seem to figure out a way to get ahead.
