Truth and I lost in my last Shakedown running into that random 66k lol. There was no real setup besides backwalk, backwalk, ppp or random 66k. I laughed my ass off everytime I got hit by it because it's really not that good and he doesn't even complete the max damage combo after connection. In fact like you said backwalk, backwalk, backwalk random 66k or ppppppppppp was EXACTLY what happened. 10 frame punch character crutch. I lost though, funny thing is earlier I was beating him without even really trying hard. It's BECAUSE I wasn't trying hard. It's true. Overthinking stuff against ppp, 66k, 3p+g, is too dangerous. With Shun I definitely try and be to fancy for it normally.

    Monkeyboy:
Your style is just boring to a lot of people. I think that's why you sit in session so long and think noones online. Even if your a better player people would rather lose to some innovation than turtle random spam. It's like BDOUBLEBLADES crutch beat knuckle and DMPK. Only thing is people play against Jackys all day....and shit they can probably play BDOUBLEBLADE all day so they can see it. Your Eileen is kind of niche and your stagger style + ppp favors lag. Accept it and keep playing that way if its exciting to you since thats all that matters right? If you want to think you're an elite player then that's all good too.

Frankly I like it, at least to fight against during the shakedown. Eileen and her properties change the way I have to fight; especially if she's played by a minimalist. Fighting a minimalist however is boring whether you win or lose. So when Konjou says he doesn't care about winning playing with you sometimes...he's really telling the truth.

I play Shun, who people bitch about too. I think the difference is I do a lot of shit with Shun. So prepare
to be bitched at backwalk, ppp, warrior of doom. It is your
    destiny!

So let me get this straight. You have no problems with how I play the game. You just find it so lame and boring you refuse to fight against me. Do you not see the contradiction here? Do you at least see how someone who is told this over and over again by you might take it the wrong way?

That was my whole point. You are judging my fighting style based on how I was fighting against someone who wasn't trying to win. Why don't you try fighting me for real before you decide how I should be fighting?

No, but really that's not the point. You can think you're better than me all you want, but how the hell do you expect me to learn how you play well enough to actually have good matches when you refuse to fight me for real? I've played a lot of good players over the years, and you are the only one I've ever met who has taken a lame attitude like that. All the other ones play me their best and give me a "ggs" afterwards, regardless of what they think of my style.

So your only advice is for me to throw escape? That's it? So you're saying me style is lame, boring, I do tons of stuff that makes no sense, but the only actual advice you have is that I throw escape more? Even when, if my memory serves me correctly, you weren't able to escape even 1/3 of my throws when we played? Did it ever occur to you I try to throw escape, but it's actually really difficult to do in any amount of lag? If I wanted to throw escape more I'd have to just assume you were going to throw me rather than read what you were doing. To me, that doesn't seem any more strategically sound than random dmpk.

Once again, my point was you weren't tying. You were just plain being lame.

Back-walking all the time is somewhat of a bad habit I developed due to not being able block low, sidestep, or punish well in lag. You may be surprised to know it's not something I do all the time, but rather only in matches where the lag is bad enough I'd just get beat by random attacking if I stayed close.

Once again, bad habit due to lag. Eileen's [P] is fast enough to beat people who just randomly attack, so if I can't read what they're doing I mash [P][P][P] all day long. I then proceed to get frustrated when they sidestep a lot, because it force me to guess even more, and sooner or later just plain quit trying (not unlike yourself).

Not one piece of advice you have given me has been even remotely helpful. But just for the record, I'm pretty sure the stuff you mentioned social ruin try would not be effective, since he lags considerably less with me than you do. Actually, I'd tell him he needs to be using Lei's low kick stun more since I can neither block, evade, or struggle out of it in typical online conditions. Hell, even offline it's pretty hard to deal with.

Not piling it on here but Rod's right about Xzyx style.
Its pretty annoying watching the back walk and randomness..
We had some words but thats beside the point. The point is when one can't learn from fightting you it almost worthless to continue on.

I know where Rod's coming from. I won a few games by just pressing PK. seting you up for anything did'nt work because you just set yourself with the attacking at Dis situations.

    GGs too everyone lately.

SDS - I just felt weird playing as goh after awhile of not playing as him, he just feels so limited compared to Pai and others. He takes a different kind of mindset to win with that I don't quite remember. Guess I am a Pai player now. : P

Konjou - Great stuff as usual. You're always on invisible mode man if you see me on and you want to play just send an inv, you know I want to play (this goes for everyone really). That long set with Lei helped me really learn the matchup he doesn't give me so much trouble anymore.

Social Ruin - You gotta get that execution down for Goh. Especially knee into 33P which is pretty simple if you know the trick. When you input knee do [3] [3] immediately and hold the last [3] if it counter hits all you have to do is tap [P] and it should work (take the 40-45% life if you can : P). That and buffer dashes for empty 270 throws if I see feet shuffling I'm probably going to TE. Hit confirm those 2P's! Also a quirky thing against Pai for max damage closed stance [4] [6] [P] the combo is [P], [4] [P] [+] [K] (Charged to lvl2), then shoulder ram. The charge takes a little practice.

Denkai - You probably don't read this thread : P. GGs as always.

Xzy - You do have a bit of a quirky style of play, but I'm used to shenanigans (Slide [IMG] ). You never really know how much stronger the top players are than you until you improve and then they beat you worse because they've already been there and done that. You've got solid fighting game fundamentals but taking Konjou's advice would probably help you do better in a Virtua world : ). Once people figure out the Virtua Fighter wait and see game and don't beat around the bush you'll have alot of trouble. Anyways I'll play you anytime.

I play Darthminion too, his problem is he leaves when I show him the problem with his strategy.

I enjoy playing with you, you're improving at a steady pace and are better every time we play.Your defence is getting sharper and you are staring to make use of 2P which is great. You've pretty much dropped your flowchart offense and you're starting to react rather than act. Definitely on your way, mate. Good job.

I had trouble when we first started playing Pai vs Jacky. I don't know A lot about her so instead I had to take a step back, re-assess the situation and suss your weaknesses. I done this little by little:

Firstly, I noticed that you rely more on a high/low offense and your mids are usually used from a distance, from stance or when I am getting up. I got over this by using 2P a lot. You didn't really seem to have much of an answer to 2P so my next step was to apply pressure.

You said after we played that you didn't know Jacky, I noticed mid-match and started busting out Jacky's P string. You would stand and block a lot of the time allowing me to go into [P][P][4][P][K] which left me at +3 and allowed me to keep the pressure on you. After that hit a few times I was able to break out of P strings and throw you or apply elbow pressure.

At this point I had broke your pace which I felt was your greatest strength. I stopped tech rolling as much so you would have to halt your offense. With me setting the pace I was able to play to your weaknesses with more ease.

You're an up-close fighter so I started creating some distance between the two of us. Initially you started whiffing all sorts of moves and I was catching you with [4][K]+[G] (heel drop) an awful lot. You got over that quite quickly though which impressed me. You ev entually started baiting my heel and turning my own tactic against me. Nice move.

It was around this point that I made the discover of your tech habit. When you tech roll, it's always towads the screen and more often than not you would use Pai's [1][P] when you got up. This would beat out my usual iageri pressure so I had to adapt. At first I was blocking and punishing with PK (don't know what it leaves you at) but I ended up trying to intercept it instead.

I started using [2][K]+[G]~[K] here. That low kick seemed to be stall you completely. I would catch your tech attack with it and could use it at a relatively safe distance without much fear.

You're definitely better than when we last played, I remember hitting you with [P][P][8][P] the last time we played but I didn't hit you with it once this time about!

Keep it up, mate. I hope you pick up a thing or two from the above. Good luck with Wolf as well, I look forward to playing him again.

GGs to anyone I haven't mentioned.

Yeah great games as usual bro. I've been told that Pai is a Lei killer, but I didn't understand just how until I played your Pai. While I miss playing your Goh, I welcome your Pai 100 times more because she is a very strong character and we don't have to many strong Pai players... I can't wait to see where you take her man.

In regards to inviting you to matches, well it looks like I'll have to take you up on that offer. I guess the reason I don't invite you much is because I don't like to bother people and I know there are times that someone else maybe be playing on your account.

The reason I go invisible is because I get tons of invites to play games I just don't play anymore and sometimes I just want to practice in dojo mode without being interrupted. If I'm on bro I'll definitely hit you and that Pai up more and I'll do my best to stay visible at all times. If I'm on and you or anyone wants to play then hit me up.

Man all these GG posts... When do you whacko's play this game? I've been looking to get back into it after a long break, but every time I get on no one is around. Still don't have a whole lot of time on my hands w/ a 14 credit schedule at school and part time work, but I'm looking to get some GGs in! Someone hit me up if they see me on.

Seidon, thanks for taking the time to post advice man. You called it pretty much spot on with your match analysis.I wish i could read the games like that as they're happening.
You're right about my techrolling direction and my weakness to 2p but i'm fucked if i can remember during matches.Manjimaru pointed out about 8 months ago that i freeze up on 2p CH.I remember advice from everyone but during a match it goes out the window.
I'm gonna stick post it notes over my television from now on, and everyone is to kick my arse and stomp me till i learn!!
If anyone needs me i'll be in the Dojo giggling and mumbling incoherently.

Even better trick... for me at least is [6][K][3], then if the [6][K] gets counterhit you just hit [3][P]. It's practically the same method as yours I just find it easier to input like this.

Xzyx987X, I haven't read any previous exchanges between you and Rodnutz, but judging by your lengthy reply it sounds like Rodnutz is under some obligation to play you. If a notably stronger player is taking the time to play you, either seriously or for fun, that person is already taking the first step forward.

The next step is in your hands. Rodnutz has openly shared with you what you need to learn to make the game fun for him and for him to take you seriously. That's your choice. He can't force you to play the way he wants, so he simply avoids games with you.

I can sympathize with Rodnutz because playing someone who doesn't seek to improve using the advice they're given, will only drag his own enjoyment of the game down. I care about VF and I know it feels difficult to play someone and give them advice, only to see no changes in the way they play. Rodnutz has no problem with the way you play the game, but he chooses not to play you. That sounds like a courteous stance. Rodnutz is simply being polite. I don't see any contradiction with that at all. Do you have a problem with people who don't like to eat the same food as you in the same restaurant?

We're all playing the same game. You like offense and he likes defense. It sounds retarded for anyone to impose their view of playing VF onto anyone else. So many senseless and useless arguments on VFDC have started that way. Advice, play styles, objective analysis of moves, character ranking etc...is never written in stone. It's your choice to take it or leave it. Be happy you are both fans of VF.

    Rodnutz:

"Seriously bro, do you think on your best day and my worst you could get 10 in a row on me?"

You sound a little pissy there. [IMG]

No problem Slug, I need to train in some move recognition against Sarah anyway. I don't mind playing players I can beat as long as they aren't flailing without rhyme or reason. You need to watch out for doing a lot of unsafe moves. Goh I almost never play but when you keep puting it out there you made it easy on me.

GG's Numbers, I was trying to play Goh with some tips from my boy. My hands are a little better at the pad now so I figured why not. But he's still not my style. Get some rest.

As I continued to write that post I did get a little pissy. This guy really thinks I have something against, but I don't. I just don't find any enjoyment in playing with him. It's not even a matter of win or lose, it's just not fun in my opinion.

I have tried to help him by offering advice over and over in the past when the game was fresh and we both played each other more. Things like learning to box step, simple TE advice (just do 1 if you can't do double, at least your inputting something), various move sets outside of PPP (at one time I even manned Eileen for like 1-2 weeks and played with him specifically using moves that I came up with to help him get some ideas), but almost 2.5 years later absolutely nothing has changed in my opinion. He still just walks back, and back, and back, and mashes PPP at every sign of a disadvantage.

If he does a TE counter-able move he never TE's. In fact he will either attack or DM every time. Playing with him makes me feel like he is just not learning anything or even trying to adapt. At that point I get very bored because I don't even have to try, just put him in a TE counter-able position and just throw him till he KO's.

I don't care how he plays and I can't force him to play how I want him to play, but I can chose to just not be bother if I don't want too.

While it looks like we are both playing VF on the surface we are actually playing completely different games. He is playing checkers and I'm playing chess. I'm not the greatest chess player, but I'd rather play someone who is going to give me a challenge win or lose or make me feel like I am learning something about the character I am using or the one that they are using.
