Ggs to Numbers. Nice Lau you're brewing mate, spam with him more and be relentless. I didn't think I'd come up with any W's with Wolf to be honest. After the first couple of matches I started recognizing the moves other Wolfs used against me and just rolled with it. Not that I did anything fancy, then again Wolf doesn't need to be fancy. He's more versatile than Jeff that's for sure.

I was like oh shit he moved! Shoulder Ram! Jeff needs some shit like that lol!

after the constant down throws/down attacks/ CH... the constant msg's online from ppl. he still plays the game. He came on the mic, sounded like a nice guy too. Its funny too.. we're always in xbox live party complaining theres noone to play in player match... Each time we say that.. guess who shows up. lol

 

If JCblack was top 20 in America I would quit the game because that's when I know VF is truly dead.

This guy doesn't make sense to me, he's been playing longer then me and he's seen opponents tech rolling or giving him a splash mountain and he still doesn't know what that is? Am I going mad or is what I said about him correct - STUPID.

 

Heh he might not care and just use this to pass the time. Could also be his kid playing, you never know. I know some very intelligent people who can't grasp the first thing about fighting games. My friends a doctor and I swear he can't do a fireball consistently BUT he likes SF.

 

I have been in this situation... I felt mocked by the fates.

 

GGs Happy, even though I got annoyed at your Lau towards the end I had fun. 1KK is annoying only if it gets used so many times in a match that you lose count. It's a wee bit harder to see coming and block it online and even when I did, I had a hell of time punishing you correctly, but that's my fault, not yours.
Lau's got a really good, fast low attack that combos on cH and CH and knocks down and here's why it works so well against Brad:
After Brad does 6P (elbow) he can go into stance, Ducking/Slip L or R. When you evade my 6P (or any move that Brad can go into stance from) I can block your 1K and try to do something from there but here's the problem: pressing down and guard after you've evaded Brad's 6P takes him into a Slip stance. At which point your 1K counter hits Brad.
I would have to cancel my 6P with G all of the time and most of the time I need the followups to 6P to hit evaders with. Even when other characters do low attacks Brad's Body Break will hit them for a gut collapse because most characters don't have a 15frame low and even the ones that do it's not as useful.
When most good players evade they usually check to see what they evaded and try to punish accordingly. You evade an attack and blindly input 1KK bc it works. I could go as far as to say that you spam it.

Yes, you spam. The very thing that you talk about hating and how DMP+K is the lazy way out and how it shortcuts the fundamental mid/throw guessing game that VF should be about. You do this with 1KK. If you evade any of my attacks, usually a 1KK will follow your successful evade.

Please tell me, what's the difference between a player who evades and does 1KK or DMP+K?
It's almost the same mindset. You said yourself it doesn't do that much damage.
DMP+K doesn't do that much damage.
1KK has evasive properties. So does DMP+K.
You could do something so much better than DMP+K most of the time, well, the same thing can be said of 1KK.
Next time that you're playing Lau against Brad, try this: evade and if you think a followup attack is coming you can evade again, OM K and get a back crumple or just OM and get a back throw.

You can punish with something better than 1KK it's just you rather take the easy way out. Just like DMP+K spammers.
Nothing personal man but you cant start ragging on DMP+K spammers and then have spamtastic tactics going on. I mean, Lau only has one sabaki, but the way you play him is as if you were playing Vanessa or something, lol.
No offense, I see what you do and how you try to read your opponent and where they do a high attack you do 6P+K and where the do a low you do 9P/8K+G and then during those tough nitaku situations that you have a real tough time trying to guess whether a mid or throw is coming, you do 1P+K. It avoids attacks and throws at the proper disadvantage... but so does DMP+K

No need for apologies or for you to use X character just to please me. I hate that feeling of "oh, I can't play this guy with X character, he hates it" OR "oh, I can't use X move because the guy I'm playing hates it".
I hate that feeling and I don't want to make anybody feel that way. Use whoever and spam whatever you like, I will find a way to deal. I mean, it is a fight after all

 

Yo Tony, I generally try to evade and see what I evaded. This is a skill I am working on, and trying to improve. Like w/JE I dodge and see an evaded low kick so I low throw. It's a work in progress...

Vs Brad especially, it seems worth the gamble to use 1kk because of the reasons that you explained better than I could. It works better than waiting for the shoo shoo to run it's course, which I hate. You throw me when stand in the face of the shoo shoo so I really feel like I gotta attack my way out of it or go down tryin.

I'd personally say it's different than dmpk because imo what makes dmpk annoying is the way it gets out of any throw/quick jab guess game. 1kk does not have that property. Throw me if you can, The 1kk will not magicall dodge AND attack.

I would like to think it is not entirely spam, since it is basically a follow-up to successful evade. Maybe I could agree that it is a "Spamble" half spam, half gamble. Thing is after doing it a bunch, I tried to change shit up and do a mid or a throw after dodge, but then I would almost always eat a counter hit. So I am not sure what to do about that. 1kk seems my best option once I have dodged the opening shot of a shoo shoo sequence.

So it seems to work when I am on the defensive vs Brad, while other stuff doesn't...but maybe it is a dick move and I just don't realize it because who can really objectively evaluate their own shit? That is a hypothetical question I guess.

For what it's worth I think your Brad is totally respectable, and is not just a collection of shoo shoo spam sequences... you do other stuff that shows you know what you are doing. I not trying to damn you with faint praise... I am just trying to say that you are not one the guys who just mixes up a few strings over and over.

But ya I do find joy in using X character and abusing X move at X time cuz it screws with heads. Hopefully they'll say "GODDAMN! I definitely do NOT want to eat X move again, no matter what." It's scary when people don't pick up on it though
