Good Games Thread

Good games flash. Im glad we got to play again after all this time but it seems that online didnt want us to play very long. Either way, I lost count of how many times you just flat out walked up to me and grabbed me. Just another example of how much i have to learn... Thanks for playing anyway

GGs to VFNumbers - like I said man, I don't really feel I can give a decent Lei a real game. The matches I win are just from randomly sticking my offense in and hoping for the best. I did go through Lei's movelist once in Dojo, but none of it really stuck /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

GGS Rondey Grimes. Man you were persistent. You should play more d on wakeup. I landed so many 8kks on you and since you didn't struggle well, that would be like half your life.

GGs Panther. Those were fun matches. I got a little weird and hesitant cuz you reverse mid so much. I tried to keep up the pace cuz I hate standing there waiting.

GGS Welsh Boris. Fun and frantic LIon.

Great Games to THRfin. I love Lau mirror matches. There was no chance anyone would win with the time running out. You get that pppk combo on flop which I never even attempt, so props to you for that.



I am hanging up Jeff for a while. I just can't deal with runaway players and DMPK enthusiasts as well with Jeff, and even though I know what to do with him, I just don't have the patience since Lau can deal with these guys much more aggressively. And since some people have called me a D-Lovin turtle (which I still dispute) I am going back to Lau and trying to win each round as fast as I can.

Happy Friend: I don't like "running" from folks although going blow for blow with Lau isn't the smartest of ideas. Debates about "broken" B.S., characters, tactics, or whatnot I'll stick my head in the jaws of the lion more often than not. I just wasn't in a patient mood today -_- I did try some backdash stuff but it didn't work out for me

Chief Flash: Glad the second go-'round went a little better although I could've TE-ed just a tad bit more. Probably Zangief-range type GS's were throwing me off a bit. Yeah....that's it, yeah /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Wish I had an XBox, I would love to give you a run Mista Tee. You know youre one of my favorites. Wich brings me to this. I want give shout outs to some peeps who have made VF on XBL memorable for me.
1 Konjou Akira, my all time favorite memory was AK vs Ak when we hit each other at the same time with same move, got up and hit each other with a different but same move again!
2 Gentleman Theif, dude I must have 20 replays of us. Just awesome awesome stuff.
3 Mista Tee, you know how I feel about ya man. I love your style.
4 Yupa, Great Sarah and your intensity is second to none.
5 Slide, I know its been forever but I cant forget the matches we used to have.
6 BRISAL, alot of people give you greif but you made me play at a higher level. I thank you.
7 Adam Yuki, to this day youre the only person that is perfect against me.

9 Boris of Whales, this is a special one. You were one of the most annoying players Ive ever met. Then I didnt see you for a long time. When we finnally caught up to each other, I was majorly impressed, and I still am.

I had fun, and appreciate all the games we had together. Thanks for putting up with my lei fei and all his antics, and my pai with her yip-centric offense. We had some good times my friend and some good matches, and some really laggy shitty ones too haha.

Dude, I have always thought that you are a great guy to fight against, even though the reversal wackiness, makes me play in a different way than I usually would. It is fun anyway, even though it is totally weird.

Really I never said that backdashing is a communist plot, I just said it's annoying when someone is always trying to get way far away or especially using slide shuffle constantly. And that I try (TRY) not to do it too much and not to play too cowardly and distancy.

And yes I have played a turtly game vs Gentle Thief, but that is because he is in my estimation the the most defensive player on XBL and whiff inducing is his Raison d'être. I think that Gentleman Thief is actually a code name for an AI program that someone created to be the ultimate blocker/backdasher/evader/stagger struggler/failed evade canceler/throw escaper. Meanwhile my simple ass just tries to figure out if someone is going to throw or hit me.

And as long as I am clarifying shit that no one cares about, I never said that anything was broken (I don't think I said that anyway), but I think that JA beat knuckle-k and dmpk in general are quasi broken by virtue of game design combined with varying levels of lag.


Maybe I am suffering karmic consequences for spamming JA's P+KK vs the cpu in VF4 Evo.

You did the same exact turtly runaway against me too, well over a year ago, and then I got fed up and started running in like a fool because I got tired and impatient of it(dumb of me I know), and you then blew me out the set cause of it. You even let me scoop you off the ground with repeated dragons after 6PK because you refused to stand up cause I wouldn't let you get away at that time. I complained to you in here after that, because you were playing 100% exactly like the lag abusing style you said you hated, and I called you out on it and told you to never join my hosted games again. And I'm not anywhere near defensive minded and styled as Lucky is, I'm the total contrast.

If people want to turtle and runaway that's fine, but I shake my head everytime I read a post in here by you whining about players doing the same exact stuff you did to players like me and Lucky.

I'd like to thank VFnumbers and especially AyuFanb0y for great matches on XBL. These were my very first games online. It was really hard for me to adjust to the lag, but you guys do really well even with it present. You guys were the first real human opponents that I've ever played. You both taught me a lot. I'm just sorry I sucked so much. It's amazing that I have access to the caliber of players that I do from the comfort of the family room.

I also hope to play against Unico again sometime. I'm making it a point to play your Brad again. Also, my matches against MuayThaiFighter were amazingly free of lag. It was nice to see how my book smarts worked against your experience against human comp.

Yeah sort of Slide, but that is the exception to the rule. You just kept going into Flamingo on wake-up and I didn't know flamingo at all so I stopped TR and QR and tried to just get the first attack from distance. Maybe sort of lame, but I did not like guessing right on wakeup and still getting hit cuz you had adv an block.

Then after our matches, you got so mad you refused to play me from that point on. I'll say this for you, you know how to stay mad about something.

And I have never done a zillion slide shuffles and beat knuckle kicks to anyone. That is pure dick-move imo, and that is what I was bitching about so I don't know what you are talking about.

Maybe i'm splitting hairs, but i don't GT is the most defensive player on XBL, i think he is the best. Against me, he has never really played unnecessarily defensive. He simply used great technique in rebuffing my attacks and creating whiffs. I've played people that were more defensive, but not nearly as good.

Hell, i think the most defensive player i ever played again was vf#'s. For a month or so when he was trying to improve his defense, he'd block ur attack and take advantage of his +4 frame advantage to get a quick G pressed and held /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif But...from what i hear, it really helped his development.

I don't think u play that defensive Happy Lau. I think u have a certain range u are comfortable with using jeff. And if u are moving backwards into that range, and ur opponent moves backwards at the same time, then suddenly it is long range. But it would a poor strategy to move in close vs opponents like lei or sarah who attack so much quicker. So if mid to long range is working, that is where u should be. Right?

GGs to Black Bauer CTU. I tip my hat. I don't really know what to say. I don't think i've ever played someone who uses their character as completely as you use Jacky. I honestly didn't see you had any weaknesses. The way u mix jacky's delays and quick walk/hop backs put up a force field of offense that left me baffled. I didn't know Jacky could string together offense like that. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif that is a nasty Jacky Fei u have there, or at least that is what it felt like.

I only played Lau today and it was actually really fun. I'm gonna stick to this since people can frustrate me more easily as JE.

GGs to chief flash. You are far above every other wolf player on XBL. Oki, range, 2p interrupts and P--Perfect GS. Those punch throws do soooo much damage. It's like getting thrown twice.

Mista Tee Thanks a lot for messaging me. Always fun games. You were losing focus for a while I think, but are still tough to beat.

Mana, if you are reading this, please don't take it the wrong way! You have switched to Pai and it must be early days, but you are too slow in punishing!

Sometimes just a PK would put me in my place. Most people figure me out after a couple of games and go on a winning streak. I was waiting for you to get angry and beat the shit out of me, but you were so passive and just stood there helpless. Be more aggressive man!! But GGs anyway.
