Good Games Thread

It's not u. Suddenly my games got more laggy and my connection is screwy after games, and when trying to start them sometimes too. I've talked to 2 ohter people who started having this problem recently too. It seems to have started about 2 1/2 weeks ago. Lol, by started i mean gotten much worse. But it's hard for me to say for certain, since i took a little time off too.

my last GG's for the day. Good games to gentlemans thief. The set made me wonder if i should bother learning a second character. But ill keep trying regardless. I did alot better today vs you than other days which is good I suppose. Thanks for the invite and sticking around!

 

The German Shun player that has been referred to, schakal81, has anyone played him?

I don't want to sound like I'm putting him down, but it's annoying to see a Shun with a high win percentage only because of spamming certain moves.

To give him a little props, he does somewhat understand the game, and does know a lot about Shun, but anyone who cannot go into /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif SOU while standing, or for that matter, ever, definitely has some learning to do. I'm just shocked when I only see him take three drinks at the end of the round.

 

We've played him and most agree shackal is a tough opponent.

And annoying from his somewhat spammy never stop attacking style.

Honestly, when i play him i can't help but feel like he is wasting (or not mazimizing) a lot of potential. We've talked (me and jhow) a little about the ability to anticipate an opponents attack, and i think Shackal, regardless of how well he does or doesn't understand the game, is very good at guessing his opponents next attack level (mid,low, or high) and acting accordingly. It helps that shun has good moves to do this. It seems like he could be really good player if he invested more in getting a solid defensive game.

His play style reminds me a lot of how i used to play. Over time i've learned to G a little bit, and that even if i feel like defend and then try and out think them from a standpoint of less disadvantage, or even, gasp, an advantage.

 

I'd say that's a good assessment. It's funny, sometimes when I play him I feel like we're trying to outshow each other's knowledge of moves. Usually there's no contest because he will eventually start spamming only a few strings when he's about to lose, but I love landing three particular moves on him that he has yet to accomplish on me:

Social when is he usually on? I definitely wouldn't mind playing him again!

 

I usually see Shakal on in the afternoon eastern standard time (GMT -5) I guess the middle of the evening for him in Europe.

Oy, I forgot to comment on L_A's Shun. I was humming Jefferson Airplane "White Rabbit"

Easter Bunny Shun! Instead of the bottle of wine, he needs an easter basket with colored eggs in it.

He's better than you may give him crddit for.After a Long session against him i learned many things about Shun (Especially his.)His abare style is monstrous if you don't know shun. He has good knowledge of the game and he UNDERSTANDS what Shun can do in situations. Unless you stop the moves why change? Its called a Killer instinct!!! and he has it believe it or not. He won't deviate from what gets him wins.

GGs and bgs to Jons up... He Will do anything to win, but when you realize this he is easier to beat... just think of what the cheapest move to do would be in every circumstance and you got him... I got 6 or seven in a row and then he left. It is satisfying to beat him. Never seen a Kage dmpk so much or try to win with tft ro's so much, or win rounds with 66p+k+g so much.

GGs to mr Tee. As long as you weren't in flamingo, things were good. You're good with all those kicks...

good half of one game to about2produce. I was away for the first round, then he won two rounds with lion. I thought I was up for some somewhat interesting matches, but then he ran away and sent a message saying "Next time I'll actually try" (???) Anybody played that dude?

Your Shun is definitely interesting. I guess I can't blame you for using PPPK so much but mainly because of lag. We don't have the greatest connection and because of this I can never punish the 3rd P with Shun's sabaki.

With just a few more tactics your Shun will be deadly!

 

GG's to Teekay. I haven't been on here in a hot minute, so I don't really know who that guy is, but their Akira and Wolf was TOUGH! Damn, he put something brutal on me, especially with that wolf, but I was just glad to be able to keep it competitive and not get absolutely man handled. If you're on here, I'm definetely looking forward to more games with you

Yupa! I forgot to put your name on here last time, but how could I forget the games with you? I know it was laggy so it brought up some issues, but your sarah is still a force as always. And I just started cracking up when you KO'd me on the ground, and yet still managed to ground combo my dude until he fell out of the ring as well.

AssassinCP- Good games with your Goh. Very defensive. I think you must be getting started with Lion, so I know that'll pick up in no time. Looking forward to more games

I'm getting lazy, so also good games to Chibiaya(sorry for the short games. My girl came home, and was on my case as soon as she walked through the door), girlsluvcurls81, and the japan matches I had all last night. I didn't really get hit with a lag fest and I enjoyed some pretty good games. Oh and Cozby, I got like two game invites from you yesterday. I don't know if you meant to do that, or if it was an accident, because neither of them worked when I tried to join, but just let me know if you want to get some games in sometime.

 

UKDiddy: Its fine, I was worn out from all the matches i played before playing you so i wouldnt have been able to play my best. But good games for ones that we played

 

about2produce eh? yeah, I've played his Lion before. Nothing to write home about He played my Eileen recently, when I had no rhythm with her and left after the very first round calling my a sorry kyu. I'm pretty sure he knew I'd get a fix on his pattern and didn't want any part of the butt-whooping he knew he'd receive if he'd stuck around. Oh well, to each his own.

Dennis: Im really sorry if it seemed as if I was spammy. That wasnt my intention at all as I am really trying to cut back on alot of moves that I use. Even though I have cut back on beat knuckle, It seems im slowy falling back into that horrible habit. Once again, My apologizes if it seemed like i was abusing lag. I Really wasnt trying to -_-. Good games?

 

Yeah, I figured a2produce is just that kind of person. Really, what is the point of playing one player match unless the person is horrible or there is crazy lag?

With Lion you can get a few wins with crazy gambling moves, but that is hard to maintain very long, hence the play and run strategy. I wonder what sort of awesome advanced techniques I would have seen if he were actually trying, since he said he wasn't?

 

Damn, I really gotta quit typing when I JUST wake up. Anyway, about2produce: Generic Lion user, spams mid-to-long distance lows and mids...close range double lows , ran like a bitch after beating me in just ONE player match talking trash -_-. My Aoi used to smack the shit out of him in Ranked so I could we've had "history." On to more cheerful stuff like shoutouts to:

Borisofwales - it seems within about the space of about 2 months your leon game has dramatically improved, those matches were just too fun. i also enjoyed them because i do not get to many games with leon players so it was somewhat educational and inspirational.

Kingo - good games but your jumping around at the end of matches got irritating.

Mackfactor - We are both new to goh so our goh matches were fun and felt kind of weird to. goh vs goh in general always feels strange to me. but other mirror matches do not feel quite so unusual.
